What brands do you like? I don't have any trouble finding good prosciutto (but there's a few bad ones around) but I've had more luck with hot smoked than cold smoked salmon. I prefer fresh salmon though, so I probably don't look hard enough

    Don't over think this.

Hi Lisa Where abouts are you located down under? We actually have quite a few options which are better than Lara bars now! (yay!) I have only once found apricots without sulfur here, they were organic and a funny colour but they tasted great.

    Changes in Menstrual Cycle

I often talk about this with my naturopath, it's not unusual to get an early period or restart periods when you're feeling healthier, as your hormones can change. Usually this is a good sign, but if you're worried have a chat with your doctor.

You may find these in either Coles or Woolworths (and I presume some other retailers). Cleavers Organic Paleo Sausages and Burgers http://cleaversorganic.com.au/paleo-range/ I've tried these two and they are both compliant, however, read your labels as they make a number of products and not all of them are compliant (paleo or other), at least one of the paleo range contains honey, so not Whole30 compliant. http://cleaversorganic.com.au/our-products/paleo-beef-sausage/ http://cleaversorganic.com.au/our-products/organic-paleo-beef-burger/
  6. If it's just once, I wouldn't be too sure it's the coconut aminos just yet, if you normally eat fermented foods and coconut.
  7. It may not be the coconut, but the histamine as it's a fermented food. You may get a similar reaction to Kombucha, vinegar and other fermented foods, so go gently. Some people are allergic to coconut though, so if you have any other coconut reactions, I'd stop eating it. Also double check your labels too, some "coconut aminos" have very different ingredients. The safe one is Coconut Secret, but I've been burned a few times ordering online and getting a product with a lot of weird stuff in it. I also had a health food store give me Braggs Aminos, which is not compliant at all. I hope you feel better soon

For those in the Eastern side of Melbourne, check out the new Wholefood Merchants superstore, biggest health food store in Melbourne! (it's a bit like a Bunnings, with a vegetarian café). http://wholefoodmerchants.com

    Question for Type 2 Diabetics

If you find you're crashing at particular times, your previous meal may have been too small or the gap between meals too big. A mini meal is a good option for a big gap or if you were full at the previous meal. Can be snack sized, but go for the template for ratios, it helps balance your blood sugar without starting another roller coaster If you really want fruit, try and stick with berries. Carrot sticks are a good veggie option if you want something sweeter or to boost your blood sugar a bit. Make sure your doctor knows about your change in diet as you may need some additional monitoring.

For anyone post-W30, I highly recommend the Paleo Café if you can find one near you (finally went to the Mornington one, outside of Melbourne). They may have some W30 stuff (certainly in grocery) but some menu items aren't W30 approved. Good place for books too.

leaC - I think they do more events than other things. I've seen quite a few noted, but have never been able to attend one myself Hmm, maybe we should come up with an Aussie version of the Emergency kit? I think we'd need the nutrition labels of these items. Anything with meat we usually can't import. and anyone who buys frozen berries in Australia, please read this: http://www.businessinsider.com.au/four-cases-of-hepatitis-a-forces-a-national-recall-of-nannas-berries-imported-from-china-and-chile-2015-2 Originally only Nanna's brand frozen berries was on the list, but the list has been expanding. I'm personally holding off on all frozen berries for a few weeks, waiting to see more info. I'm lucky, I don't buy the mixed berries, but my confidence is not high in the other kinds from Creative Gourmet, due to the revision so far of which brands/kinds are included.

If you have a European deli which stocks Bertocchi, you may be able to special order their Porchetta. It does however usually come in a large size (over a kilo). It's not bacon, but it's pretty awesome and much more like bacon to me than prosciutto (it's already cooked, but it's best fried). http://www.bertocchi.com.au/ProductDetails.aspx?proid=68

I find them interchangeable in recipes, but I'm not sure on the dipping sauce front. I survived my first Whole30 without them

Yay for grassfed lamb! Coles and Woolies often have Melrose virgin coconut oil on special, keep your eyes peeled and stock up when it's on sale They have the refined one too, but I find it weird, I can't use it. Woolies sometimes have the Zucchini Fine Fettle Flats in the Macro section. My Coles has organic free range eggs (yay!) although one kind comes in an annoying 10-pack (who took my other two eggs???). My Coles has also started stocking grassfed beef, but it has always had King Island Beef, which is all grassfed. My Coles sometimes has baby kale, which I love as it's no prep. My Woolies gets organic chicken too, but someone else likes it and often buys it all before I get there My Woolies often has organic veggies on sale, so I stock up on zucchini and kiwi fruit. If any of your stores carry Luv-A-Duck fresh duck products, you may get Duck Fat too! Check your local prosciutto brands, you might find one which is only pork and salt. I've had no luck with compliant bacon Let me know of any good finds at Aldi. I don't get there very often.

For all of those new to Whole30, beware buying the Niulife brand of coconut aminos, it's loaded with sugar. Quite a lot of us got caught with this one on our first Whole30. I buy Coconut Secret from Prahran Health Foods, but there are some Aussie retailers selling it online.

A heads up to anyone who buys anything from Leggo's (most famous for tomato paste), a few long time safe products have recently had barley (gluten) added. Beware!

Victorians, I just received my first Seven Creek paleo beef delivery! It looks so good! What comes in the paleo pack? Porterhouse steak (1kg) Scotch fillet (500g) Eye fillet (250g) Rump steak (600g) Round steak (800g) Blade steak (750g) Beef roast (2kg) - in 1 package Premium mince (2.5kg) - in 5 packages Sausages (2kg) - salt only - in 4 packages Rissoles (500g - veggies and salt only - in 1 package Diced beef (500g) - in 1 package Stir fry strips (500g) - in 1 package Osso Bucco (650g) - in two packages Marrow bones (1kg) - in 1 package Soup bones (1kg) - in 1 package It comes nicely cryovac wrapped in small packages (individual steaks!) and it's fresh not frozen (you can freeze it). You do need to be home for delivery, but it's huge, so you probably won't get them often It's a big pack of meat, if you can't store it all, you'll need to split with someone, only comes in one size: 12.55 kilos (plus two kilos of bones). Make sure you get the Paleo pack, the other one has non-paleo sausages and rissole ingredients like rice flour and HPV. http://sevencreeks.com.au/shop/clean-eating-grass-fed-angus-beef/
