    I love this! You expressed so many of the things I have thought but did not take time to explain to people or put into words.  My father has pushed similar 'unhealthy' comments to me but, I merely let them know that I want to see what foods are affecting my sleep, skin, and moods, so I'm experimenting.  When they think it's temporary they back off for a bit. 
    But in my mind, I do not want this to be temporary. I want a better relationship with food. I feel physically better when I eat this way.  I feel emotionally better when I eat this way and less guilty and stressed.  
    I haven't hit Tiger's Blood yet, I'm only on Day 4 (and ironically, today, I want to KATT but am adding to the forum to keep myself calm), but am already feeling positive effects and keeping the WHY top of mind will certainly help!! 
    Today you should be on Day 24? 25? How are you feeling?

    I think it's normal to be nervous/scared, because you are trying something new and with anything new there is the chance that you could fail, or learn something about yourself you don't like.  I've made several attempts at a Whole30, and am back today to find an accountabilibuddy... I think it is very difficult to maintain without that. So in my attempts, I've made it 14, 19, and 5 days (just last week, had a really bad Friday and sabatoged my whole progress). I didn't think I had an emotional relationship with food, and theoretically I know how to eat, but I'm learning that I definitely do, and that's scary, but means that I need correction!
    Find a buddy (or 5), make a PLAN, prepare, and stay determined.   you can do it

    Hi all, first time on the w30 program and excited to also be starting this Monday! I had originally set June first, but I am just too excited to get going. Why am I waiting? I love that they have this forum to keep us accountable, since I couldn't find anyone to participate with me in my live life  
    I am hoping that I will be able to remedy a few things that bug me, mostly, the inability to stay asleep, acne (I'm 35! Cmon already!) and a lack of real energy lately. Probably from not sleeping. Who knows. But great to find accountabilibuddies!!

    I'm feeling frustrated, and so ready to throw in the towel. It's not even from cravings.... I don't have a bad relationship with food, never did. But I feel like this is MAKING me feel that way. Like I am so obsessed with every morsel that is going into my body, that it's all I am thinking about. Planning. Eating. Planning for the next meal. Eating. My bf is asking me where we can go to dinner where it'll be easy for me to eat but, that's not fair to the family, though I appreciate their support. Grrrrr

    Omg team welcome to day5!! We made it through the work week!! 
    I had a dream last night that I drank from a bottle of ranch dressing. Lmao!! I don't even like ranch. 
    Last nights dinner was turkey burgers on eggplant "buns". My boyfriend is not doing the program with me but will partake in meals, what a good sport!! I even offered to get his own real roll but he declined. It came out really good!! And I made potato wedges and kale chips. 
    This morning I made a cauliflower and black olive omelet. Little worried about tonite since I have to go right to my second job after work and won't be home until around 2am, with no place to store food, I will have to search for complaint items somewhere on the way. I am gonna stay strong tho!! 
    Good luck today everyone! And keep focused through the long Memorial Day weekend!!!

    I've been telling people it's more of a food experiment, to see if I have any food sensitivities, and people seem to be much more supportive than just someone dieting again (there are a lot of yo-yo'ers in this office).

    Hi LacyJean!  Not too late!  Congrats on making it to Day4 without any support! This thread seems to be pretty awesome so far, I know we will all make it to the end  
    I work in an office too an am an ex-smoker so I feel your pains. Stay strong!  Just remember the cigarette withdraw cravings... food ones aren't nearly that bad!  If you quit smoking this should be a breeze.  And also way to go on your total health overhaul!  Your body will certainly thank you!!

    Biggest revelation so far: the rash I've had on my arm for the past 6 months has completely disappeared in the 4 days I have been on W30. I had been putting a prescription cream on it with minimal results, but it's completely gone! Now I'm curious to find out what's causing it during reintroduction...
    M1: Woke up to an empty fridge, so I had to go to the store immediately and eat in the car (Chomps, fruit, veggies)
    M2: Sweet potato stacks from W30 book
    M3: Warm Brussels sprout salad with bacon with fried egg on top
    Workout: HIIT training with weights
    Great to see everyone is doing so well!

    Today went really well besides my headache around 2... but I can't say I ever felt sluggish like I normally do at that time. Just headachey, I ended up having a half a cup of black coffee and walking around for a few minutes and it passed. Today when I got home, I prepped the veggies below, went for a jog, and by the time I got back they were all ready to go! 
    My beets are just roasted with a little vinegar, avocado oil, and parsley. Brussels I shook in a bag with a tbsp of coconut oil, garlic salt and pepper. And the squash I just steamed and didn't even touch today, but since the oven was on I figured I would maximize it and have them for tomorrow. 
    My protien for dinner was tuna with half an avocado, mixed with lemon juice and diced tomatoes, scooped into the lettuce wraps and sides of beets and Brussels. I ended up also having a half a banana with a tsp of almond butter since I was so hungry after the run.

    haha this is amazing!!! 
    I'm on day 5... I was just telling my girlfriend yesterday - who is a habitual yo-yo dieter - how freeing it is not to count calories and log every little bite of food that I take... honestly it was maddening, and then I found myself binging on terrible foods at the worst times. This plan is amazing!

    DAY 30 is here!!!!  So exciting :-)  My hubby picked out the bottle of wine (Rose!) that we will have tomorrow to celebrate, I will be looking up a nice shrimp compliant dish to have with it.
    Day 30 is a bit of a double-edged sword, it is so great to have finished, but in a way the hard part is just beginning... first of all the diet stays basically the same for a while longer, which friends and fam have a hard time understanding (isn't it just 30 days?  Why no toast tomorrow? Well... I'm testing alcohol tomorrow... blah blah....)
    The even harder part, which I will post about separately, is applying the great lessons learned throughout the Whole 30 (being firm about what you are doing, connecting with intention, not allowing peer pressure to get the best of you...) to every day eating and every day life.  Such a wonderful and challenging journey ahead!
    For now though, time to celebrate... I am DONE my first Whole 30 today!!!!   Woohoo!!!!

    Hi Amyrotella,
    I am done!  I finished yesterday!  (You can check out my log if you like where I set out some of my challenges and successes, and also a post on finishing in "success stories" that I did yesterday).  Good for you for staying strong and getting clear on why you are doing this, you will benefit not only in your food but in your life.
    Now that I'm in the reintro phase, it is even more important to stay clear on what and how I'm eating and why, and I think it is even more so when we move into daily life.

    Pack some fruit, nuts, veggies and can of tuna or chicken. 
    Ideas:
    bananas, apples, pears, lemons
    peaches, cherries, nectarines
    almonds / walnuts / cashews
    carrot sticks, celery sticks, zucchini (raw is delicious) lettuce, tomatoes, green onions
    grated coconut
    Canned meat: tuna, salmon, chicken 
    pack it and once there make this: 
    chop up canned chicken in bowl, add chopped green onions, and lots of fresh squeezed lemon juice, salt and pepper.
    add grated coconut.
    wrap in lettuce leaves like a chicken wrap.

    ha, the emotional coaster that post just took!  The good news... Tamarind is still "clean"... unprocessed... so if you eventually open your diet up to some other things, you can include it but still guilt free, if legumes are things that don't bother you.  
    I bought this really awesome cookbook last year that follows a more clean diet than we are used to. After watching so many 'forks over knives' kind of food documentaries, and generally feeling like crap, I was really motivated for a more natural way of eating. I believe in everything in moderation, so I didn't want to eliminate any food category completely, and in the first month following this type of 'diet', I lost 10 pounds without trying.  https://www.amazon.com/dp/0989558681?ref_=ams_ad_dp_asin_3 
    Mind you, this book is not "Whole30" approved... but my goal of the Whole30 is to see if I have food intolerances, not necessarily to lose weight, so I will probably revert to a more inclusive, but still Clean, diet after this reset.  I have a strange feeling it's going to be dairy, for me, but I am dreading it. We'll see!  I have always liked to cook, but thinking of new foods to incorporate or new ways to use them was very helpful and another reason I love this venue!

    Technically these vitamins are not compliant as each one has 12.5mg of added inositol which is a sugar alcohol.  That aside, these aren't the type of thing that we want you taking with the Whole30... how will you know if the whole30 made you feel better or these pills packed with caffiene and other things that we're not entirely sure what their effect is.

    Hi Everyone,
    I started on May 23rd, so I am a day behind y'all, but close enough! This is my second whole 30, and I am very motivated, mainly because I have gained 14 lbs since I did it last year.  WTH?!?!? The take aways I got from my first whole 30 were to stop drinking soda (haven't had it since April 17th, 2016!) and to stop adding sugar to my coffee (totally grosses me out now, where I used to have to have it).  
    My goals for this Whole 30 are to get another take away item (or two) from this round, lose the 14 lbs for summer, hopefully reduce inflammation in my back, and take a month off from drinking alcohol.
    I am also taking the Goop "High School Genes" vitamin pack alongside my Whole 30 to hopefully reset my metabolism??? Does anyone have any experience with these vitamins?
    So far, this round 2 seems easier than round 1, but let's see how tomorrow goes!
