  1. Conquered the pizza truck!

    Today is day 19 of my first Whole30 journey. The office hired a pizza truck to come park outside (by the picnic tables where we eat lunch) and cook pizza for everyone. (With ice cream with m&ms, sprinkles and whatever else for dessert). I brought my salad, with steak and onions on top, with lemon juice and avocado oil for dressing and enjoyed it while everyone ate pizza. But wait...because that's not all! For the the first time in my life, I didn't feel deprived. I didn't feel like I was missing out, or like I so desperately wanted the pizza. I didn't feel bad for myself, in fact, I felt happy that at 3:00 I wouldn't be falling asleep at my desk and that I wouldn't have a stomach ache after eating. I, as most people here, have always had a horrible relationship with food and yo-yo diets. I know I am not finished with my Whole30 yet, but I am so happy to already know and have established better habits and a better relationship with food. The Whole30 is the greatest thing I've ever done for myself! I can't wait to see what days 30 and 31 have in store!!

    @SugarcubeOD thanks so much! Unfortunately I'm at work and all I have are almonds and raisins. But tomorrow I will be sure to plan to bring something else so that I am prepared should the fish and broccoli hunger strike!
  3. Unfortunately, I'm on day 16 of my Whole30 and I had to start prescription steroids for a reaction I'm having to lotion. The steroids, as a side effect, make me feel hungry. I'm sticking to Whole30 foods, obviously, but do you think it would be okay for me to snack? I had a big breakfast (cut up potatoes and sweet potatoes, two eggs, salsa and guacamole) and I feel myself getting hungry already! Help!
  4. We will be celebrating my brother's graduation at an Italian restaurant this weekend. I was hoping to get an opinion on this menu item: "Salmon pan seared over sautéed artichokes, fresh spinach & red peppers" I was going to ask the waiter if they could cook it with olive oil because I am not eating dairy and therefore not eating butter. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    Hey! Thanks for sharing! I feel like we might be in similar situations. Today is day 9 for me and I started close to your start weight. I am hoping to get to where you got by the end of my whole 30. My wedding is in 3 months so not only am I doing whole 30 to feel better (I have stomach issues too) but also to look my best at my wedding! Hope you had good lock on your second round!
  6. Struggling with Pre/Post Meals and timing

    I don't really consider myself an athlete but I thought this might be the best category to post in. I typically do my workout either first thing in the morning or when I get home from work. First thing in the morning, my post wo meal is my breakfast and when I get home from work, post wo meal is dinner. I know you're supposed to eat a specific post wo meal but I'm not sure how to fit it in and was looking for suggestions. Thanks!
