    Starting June 19th

    I've been absent from this site for some time now. I've been having blood work done to see if I have Hashimoto's and things don't look too good. Autoimmune disease runs rampant on my mother's side of the family and my mom and three of my four sisters have Hashimoto's. My mom and two older sister's that have it have always struggled with their weight, energy, etc and I never really have. I was kind of hoping that it might have skipped over me, tbh. My oldest sister was diagnosed in her early 30's with it (she's now 43), but she was having symptoms of it since she was in high school. I know the Whole30 has an autoimmune protocol and I am going to start following it. I'm just really frustrated right now and feel like crying. I know Hashimoto's isn't a death sentence; it's just after watching my family struggle with it for years and being a Registered Nurse, I see how it can really impact a persons life. If any of you have stories-personal or about family/friends-that have benefited from Whole30's autoimmune protocol and are willing to share them, I'd love to hear them!

    Starting June 19th

    Just stopping by to say "Hi" and tell everyone their meals look amazing! I had some really bad cravings last night (for dark chocolate), but I just drank some water and went to bed about an hour early. So far this hasn't been too terrible, but I think it's because I've been doing 80/20 (Well, probably more like 70/30, TBH) Paleo for years. Well, Day #4 is half over and I hope you all had a great day!

    Day 1: Breakfast: two hard boiled eggs with some mayo (I'm not a big breakfast person) and some black coffee Lunch: huge salad with some meatballs and avocado Dinner: ?? Not sure yet, but have plenty of food ready to go at home. I hope everyone has a great Day 1!

    Starting June 19th

    Lots of soft boiled eggs, homemade mayo, cooked some plain chicken so I can use it in multiple dishes this week, meatballs without any kind of flour, even almond; I have found that eggs make them stick together just fine. Mashed yams with avocado oil, chopped a ton of veggies. I still need to buy some avocados and want to make some baba ganoush to dip said veggies in. Kombucha (without added sugar after fermentation) is my go to drink, along with black coffee, soda water, and tea. There's a "paleo-friendly" food truck in my town that takes homemade bone broth an mixes it with coconut cream (not milk) and spices. It's amazing and I'm trying to replicate it. Aurora-what's "dump ranch sauce"?

    Hi Aurora, I too am starting my first Whole 30 on June 19th. Good job on prepping for this, that's my goal for today. I'll check back in on this post in a week or so to see how you're doing!
