All these are amazing but I really love your second last one!  That's such a huge thing because it opens up a WORLD of recipes of things you may have made previously that you can tailor to your own food plan when you figure out what that is through re-introduction.

Congrats on finishing everyone! So awesome to hear about the NSVs as well as some SVs too!
I also hit an 8 pound weight loss, which if you break it down is an average of 2 pounds per week and that's a healthy, sustainable rate!  I had the advantage of starting to work with a new personal trainer at the start of January so weighed myself at the gym on a scale that also does body composition. In addition to the 8 pounds, I've also lost about 3% body fat (which explains the more comfortable jeans). I've learned from previous journeys that exercise isn't the main weight loss driver for me, it's ALL about the nutrition so that was a big reason for me to choose W30 in the first place....nothing like some serious structure to get myself back on track!
Reintroduction yesterday was with dairy, no issues. Don't really have a desire to add back anything else so I figure I'll continue to take that a day at a time. I never lost the sugar cravings so I'm staying far, far away from sweets!

Is anyone doing another round?  I’m planning to start another on March 5 after we get back from a 14 day road trip to Mexico.  Wondering which forum topic to follow?
I met my goal weight loss of 8 pounds, which seem to be an average, and that coupled with a bunch of NSV makes me even more determined to do another. My sugar dragon’s name is alcohol and while I’m not thinking I am an alcoholic I do feel like my body is telling me it’s an inflamitory and needs more work training it.
Thanks for all the support this forum has given to everyone, it’s been a lot of fun and I’ve learned so much. Hope to catch up with one or all as I journey.

I know there is a part of the forum for parents and there is some information in the books. My family has eaten the dinners I cook and I am lucky that our daughter loves vegetables. Our daughter ate most of the dinners that I cooked. I did make chili this past weekend with beans as our son was home visiting and he wanted me to make the chili the way I always made it when he was growing up. I separated some out for mine and put beans in the rest.
Our daughter knows I am on Whole 30 and we have spoken some. She is ten so I will see if she wants to do it as much as she can this spring or early summer. I also will see if she wants to try for Lent.  I cannot imagine being in elementary school and saying no when someone brings cupcakes for their birthday. I think for most children, the goal is to make their breakfast and dinner Whole 30 and lunches will depend on if they are packed and the choices at their school.

Funny thing:  I had decided I was going to weigh myself today but I stashed my scale away so carefully when I started on Jan 2 that I can't find it!  It doesn't help that we're having a contractor doing work in our bathroom right now so there is a lot of stuff that is definitely not where it's supposed to be, but I thought it was pretty funny.

    Day 31?  Really??
I have felt bloated and uncomfortable the last few days, but it's my own fault.  I've been eating way too many nuts.  Regardless, the scale says I have lost 10 lbs, which is awesome!  However, since I still have 25lbs to lose and 2 months to go before we head to Mexico for our youngest son's senior year spring break trip, I've decided that the only food group I'll be reintroducing at this time is alcohol.  For special occasions only, of course. (Completing W30 is a special occasion, right??)
I don't miss noncompliant food, which blows my mind.  I have to admit...the NSVs have made me realize that I would rather continuously feel good than have a temporary "high" from food.  I think the biggest thing is that I don't miss feeling like crap every day.  I don't miss feeling lethargic and foggy at 2pm, I don't miss getting home from work and having ZERO energy, and I REALLY don't miss waking up in the middle of the night, every night, and not being able to get back to sleep for what seems like hours.
Over the past 30 days, I didn't participate in a regular exercise regimen, but that changes now.  I'm planning to move forward with basically the same diet, but I'm going to cut back on white potatoes and nuts, since these are unfortunately food with no brakes for me.  I'll allow myself an occasional alcoholic beverage and will add 3-5 days of exercise per week.
Congrats to all of us for the hard work and determination!  I'll continue to check in and if a different thread gets started for those that decide to continue, please let me know!  I didn't post a lot during this journey, but I read every one of your posts and it really helped.

    Cheers!!

We did it, guys! Since this was my fourth Whole30, I'm going with the slow roll introduction this time. My husband and I are going to dinner tonight at this Thai place in our new neighborhood that we've wanted to try for months. I will go for more veggie and protein dishes, vs. noodles and fried things. We're gonna stay pretty much paleo overall. I'm going to do what I can to keep my sugar dragon in check, so there won't be much dessert for me, or even grains. At least that's the plan. I'm going to start reading "Food Freedom Forever" along with the Whole30 community this month, so hopefully I'll be on my way.
Best of luck to all on your respective journeys!

@MaineacMom I don't have kiddos, so I can only imagine!   You are so strong and I applaud you for making that oooey gooey thing and not caving!!
Because of my near instant improvement in allergy symptoms, my very good friend is on day 9!  She has terrible eye/skin allergies and is tilting her W30 to remove the chronic offenders.  She is doing very well and it's fun to be her cheerleader!
I didn't sleep well the last few nights and I definitely feel more bloated as a result.  The day counting added more stress, it seems, since Day 27.  I am now not going to even think about what "day" it is and just continue with reintroduction and listen to my body.
CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE - WE DID IT!!  And I agree - this forum has been a great support and with the unknowns ahead, I am hoping we can stay in touch.
    Cheers all!!

We made it!!!  Woo hoo.    My husband has decided he wants to do W30.    He is still reading the W30 book and preparing himself for what lies ahead, so I might just start up again whenever he does. I am looking forward to reintroduction though and seeing how some of these foods (rice, alcohol, sugar) affects my system.
Has anyone tried doing W30 with kiddos?  My beautiful blessings  have their Momma's sugar dragon.  I stopped buying some of the items that they rely on for snacks (yogurt, granola bars) and just stocked up on more fruit and veggies, which they love.   However, I am just noticing how they often want the carbs and sugary stuff and want to help them in that area.  I began with this past shopping trip by not purchasing some of our convenient standbys that have snuck their way back into our lives over the past few years (cereal, crackers, granola bars, store bought yogurt). If you guys have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.    Happy Day 1 of reintroduction!

I came close to blowing it yesterday, I made the kids Rice Krispy birds nest with caramel M&M's for "eggs" inside them because we were doing a unit study on birds.  Oh my word!  The ooey gooey marshmallows smelled so darn good and I had to keep reminding myself that I really don't like Rice Krispy squares that much... it was crazy hard!  Don't beat yourself up DebCoop, you have come a long way and have done a great job!  I love what Melissa Hartwig says in Food Freedom Forever: "There will be slip ups, times you fall off the wagon... it's unrealistic to think there will be no more cravings/unhealthy eating habits.  Don't beat yourself up about it.  Simply acknowledge where you are, reactivate your reset, and regain your control."  Hoping we can all still connect here during our reintroduction as I think that will be the hardest part for me... to not just go out and eat "all the things".

Happy Day 30 Everyone! I haven't been commenting a lot, but I have been reading this every day and it has been a great support for me.  This is my second W30 and I'm feeling really good.  I'm going to reintroduce dairy first (I miss milk in my black tea!), but after that I'm not sure.  I haven't really been missing grains or legumes, but we are in a Supper Club with a couple of other families and those items often show up when it's not our turn to host so I will probably reintroduce those next.  I think I'm going to continue eating mostly paleo, but include dairy from time to time.  When I reintroduced it after my first W30 I didn't notice any ill effects so fingers crossed.  :-)

I have been feeling really good. Lots of NSVs for me... sleeping great at night, more energy, skin is better, inflammation is down, less moody :), just overall I feel awesome.  I made the kids no bakes the other night and didn't cheat, even though they smelled divine. I appreciated how wonderful the aroma was and then didn't think about it... it was great.
I didn't reintroduce properly during my last Whole 30 in July so I am hoping to do it right this time and not just go out and eat everything in sight.  I am reading Food Freedom Forever and just so appreciate Melissa's honesty and her healthy way of approaching diet/life.  I have never "dieted" before so this reset with Whole 30 (first  in July and again now) are the first extreme things I have ever done in regards to my eating habits.  I have always been fairly small but after six babies and now that I am nearing 40 my metabolism is definitely different.  Combine getting older with food allergies/sensitivities and daily life and I knew my body needed some TLC.  After doing a lot of research I settled on Whole 30.  I just love the Hartwig's honesty, their research, and the way they view the body as a whole and how to care for it.  The thing that gripped me the most was when they emphasized that this was not a weight loss plan and how it was more about improving overall health.  For me, living in a culture that is so weight obsessed, that was a breath of fresh air.

How is everyone doing?  I can't believe we are 27 days in!!!  Any thoughts about what you are reintroducing first and if you are going the fast lane or the slow route as mentioned in the Whole 30 book?  I think I will be taking it slow.  I am going to start my reintroduction with a glass of Chambord.  I have always wanted to try it and my husband bought it Day 2 into my Whole 30 so I have been staring at it all month long.
I have a pretty good idea of what I am sensitive to due to allergy testing but I would like to know how sensitive I am.  Example: Can I eat 1/2 piece of sourdough bread or should I just steer clear of it all together.  I won't introduce gluten until later but it will be nice to kind of test where the limits are with some of the items my system is sensitive to.
I am reading Food Freedom Forever and LOVE it!  I have enjoyed all of the Hartwig's books and find them very informative and encouraging.
    Meals for this week include:
Whole 30 Meatloaf with whipped sweet potatoes, salad and steamed green beans
Chicken Tagine (with rice for the family and with salad for me)
Salmon with homemade lemon mayo, salad, roasted beets and roasted potatoes.
Potroast cooked mexican style with lime juice to use to top our taco salad with.
Bacon wrapped chicken breast, veggie tray, rice for kids, salad, berries
Chicken and veggie soup with salad
    Have a great week!

    Hi All!
I wish you all a happy Friday! I can't believe that this is the last weekend! It really has gone fast.
I have to tell you I made the BEST recipe last night. https://nomnompaleo.com/sheet-pan-chicken-fajitas
These on butter lettuce were so incredible! The avocado crema too! The only thing I changed was I used 1 Tbsp of lime juice in the crema instead of 2!
    Have a great weekend!

I think this is where we all are. Brent Fikowski is a CrossFit superstar and said the following in a recent interview:
“You’ve got to find substitutes that you still enjoy. Don’t try and go straight into just, rice, chicken, and broccoli. Find a few things you eat that need replacing. It’s all about building good habits. Instead of eating breaded chicken fingers, I buy chicken breast and find a way that I like to cook them that makes me feel just as good.  It shouldn’t feel like a sacrifice. It needs to become a habit, a lifestyle.
The same is true with exercise. I love CrossFit. But if you love the water and you love swimming, then find a routine and a group of people and swim. If exercise becomes a chore, it won’t become a part of your lifestyle....You want to be happy!   The reason I eat this way is because it makes me feel good, and when I feel good, I train good, and when I drink good, I’m happier. People ask,  “Don’t you miss ice cream and beer?”  Well, yeah!   But then I would feel awful. “

So for me to fight off the food cravings during that blessed time of the month, I have found Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice tea helps me.  I also whipped up some sweet potatoes with coconut milk and cinnamon for a kind of side dish that was comforting.  Definitely ate more carbs on the side (sweet potatoes), healthy fats (avocado with lime juice and salt), and made sure to take some "me time".  Just enjoying a good book with a warm rice sock on my back while sipping my tea went a long way.  I loved @dianne m suggestion of buying yourself flowers!    Wishing you the best on your journey Crystalx , you are doing great!

Today I had my first serious sweets FOMO. Today we had our monthly bake off at work, and a colleague brought the most amazing looking cinnamon toast crunch cake, make with cinnamon cereal milk, cinnamon toast crunch brittle, and cream cheese frosting. Store bought doughnuts, cookies and baked goods don't appeal to me one bit - I've honestly never understood why you'd waste the calories - but I am a sucker for homemade... especially when it's my favorite childhood cereal as a cake!  But I suppose I escaped the 3:30pm sugar crash and 500+ calories, so that's a win!
