I totally agree with you!!!  It's not over for me.  I am loving this commitment and I know I still have work to do so I'm going onward (and upward)!  I feel like we live in this special space with all this knowledge and freedom over our "dragons" that makes us truly special . . . and blessed!
Have loved this group.  I hope we can stick together as we take our individual journeys wherever they go!
I can't believe how fast 30 days went!!  Here's to 30 more for me!

I'm in!!!  We do need each other.  I haven't done as good a job as you guys posting, but I have LOVED reading and being there in spirit.  Let's stick with this - together.  Not that I like this analogy, but you have to eat an elephant one bite at a time and we are doing that.  Our positive change may help others!!

Sorry @Sara Cameron-Ragazzo. I wanted to say Congrats! as well, We have gone this far and still going strong! I'm not going to be disappointed anymore either. I have had some changes that I have noticed and feel. I may not have the "tiger blood" yet but, I know I will. I didn't do this to lose weight, I did it to get healthier. Hoping losing some weight will eventually happen. I can and will be patient for all of that. But, once it hits I'll be blowing it up here, lol. I'm proud of both of us. We are in it to win it!! And everyone else here we are almost there!! Day 22!!!

Me, too!  We should definitely all keep in touch for check-ins.
I had my brother & mom over for dinner yesterday- made cauliflower rice (my kids even ate it!), thai meatballs, and sweet potato/applesauce.  Everyone loved it!  My mom asked how long I was going to be doing this "diet", and why can't I choose a diet without weird food.  I laughed and I told her I was!  (and that it's a lifestyle, not a diet).

Thanks for the info - I'm headed there after work!  And, yes, my husband and I have become "those people" who now treat food as nutrition and medicine (in a good way).  So blessed to have found this plan and knowledge.

Well, I can't speak to whether this is "better" or not, but my mouth is watering just reading!!!  Also, THANKS for the news on the W30 compliant turkey meats.  I have stayed away from almost anything in a package during these 22 days so didn't realize this was out there.  Do you know the brand? I think I am going to keep going on this indefinitely and I know it will help to have a quasi-sandwich option.  I LOVE butter lettuce and it makes great "bread" - just need the interior!
We're doing this!!!!  Proud of your journey and all the thoughts you've shared with us along the way!!

Hello Day 17 friends.  Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  Trust me, I've been in the kitchen or at Whole Foods or our food co-op shopping.  I share three thoughts with some of the recent posts  . . . 1.) I'm NOT giving up! 2.) I am sick of the kitchen . . . I feel like I'm in there all the time either chopping, prepping, cooking, or cleaning and then the cycle starts over.  And, I know folks are finding batch prepping works for them but I can't stomach the idea of even longer periods in the kitchen making even more food and giving up even more of the weekend. I'm not bitching (well, not really) but I do hope the food prep part gets easier.  And, 3.) not feeling the Tiger Blood yet.  I do have a number of positive changes but I have been living for that morning - or moment - when I feel it.  Like, really feel it.  Maybe I'm expecting too much.
Anyway, I've missed you guys but I'm reading everything!!!  We're doing this!!!  I can honestly say we will.  Just now need some reasonable expectation that the work around this lifestyle gets easier the more familiar you get with the program.
We need a Whole30 commune where we can go live with our families and share the cooking!  lol.

I usually do about 3 hours of prep on Sunday, and make breakfast and lunch for myself and my fiancé for the work week. Usually that means I'm roasting up a bunch of veggies, cooking sausages, or making egg muffins etc. and probably something in the crock pot. In the summer, we grill a lot, it's really easy to cook up big batches of meat for the week that way. I keep it really simple for those meals - cook big batches of stuff and then mix and match with different salad greens and dressings. For dinner, I usually cook what we're having that night, again keeping it really simple. I don't usually cook recipes, just "ingredient meals" - think roasted veggies, potatoes and a pork chop with some kind of mayo based sauce for the fat. It also helps that neither of us mind repeating meals - I have the same breakfast and lunch throughout the week (for 5 days) and I'll switch it up week to week.
For more grab and go stuff, I usually buy pre packaged sausages/hot dogs, as those are cooked already and just need to be heated for when you're in a pinch. Throw some sweet potatoes on the oven racks between sheets and keep those handy in the fridge as a fast side for dinner.  Also, a crock pot or instant pot are a huge help if you have one. Today I put a big pork butt with some spices in my crock pot before I left for work, and now I'll have pulled pork for a few days with barely any work/time in the kitchen.

I'm with ya @Sara Cameron-Ragazzo!!! I'm not feeling the "tiger blood" either. I'm not noticing a change in my clothes, or energy levels even. I am sleeping better and still love the program but, am also waiting patiently. I'm not disappointed either just happy that I feel like I'm making a difference in my overall health. I guess we can say that as we have been told the program works differently for each person. I was a smoker, occasional bad eater and would have a glass of wine to unwind a night. I may need more time to get all those bad toxins out of my system. Which at least for me is well worth this wait. I gave up quite a few things all at once.  So maybe I need the extra time? But, all in all here we all are!!! Day 17!!!!!! What a feat for us all. I wish I could come over and help you prep @Sara Cameron-Ragazzo, lol. I really would do that for you. I'm used to being in the kitchen now so its like second nature. I did it even before the program. My husband wishes I wasn't in there as often and hanging with him more, lol. I'm working on it = )

I will do this over the next few days and let you know.  I also now am hearing from folks that this period I'm in can be the toughest, so I am hopeful I'm just at the "worst time".  The new me is coming out during the eclipse!!!

Have you been keeping a food log? If you could post a few days of what you have been eating we can certainly take a look and see if there's anything you might want/need to tweak...

Regarding breakfast you really don't have to eat eggs, like ever. I'm not currently doing a Whole30 but to an outsider it might look that way - this morning I had leftover sweet & sour chicken, and I have also been known to have curries, salads, burgers, stews & all kinds of things. If you're dreading the eggs find something else., just don't skip breakfast - it truly is the most important meal as it sets the tone for the rest of the day.

Re the Tiger Blood - day 11 is probably a little early in my experience, but are you eating oily fish? If not then dig in

I'm not a lot of help, but I can at least speak to breakfast:  don't feel like you HAVE to eat "breakfast foods."  When I was in high school, I ate a tuna sandwich for breakfast more days than not.  Clearly, that's not gonna work in this instance, but eat whatever the heck you want!

Hello all.  Been away this weekend at a Yoga Retreat.  Great timing as it totally got me in the spiritual space to be strong when I feel weak.  All that said . . . I have an experience to share on not eating.
I woke up this morning planning to make the pot roast for dinner tonight (and tomorrow night and the next night . . . lol).  Hubby woke up with me and we realized we didn't have all the ingredients so I made the (miserable) mistake of grabbing my cup of coffee with coco milk (no other food, mind you) and out the door we went to Whole Foods.  One long trip around Whole Foods studying food labels after we bought carrots, one un-planned trip to Target for paper towels for the war zone our kitchen has become, and one very long wonderful unexpected phone call from one of our 5 children later and it was nearly 1pm and I had eaten nothing.  Wow!!! I had to leave Target and go lay flat in the car with A/C blowing in my face.  I wasn't sure if I was going to throw up or faint.  Not good.  I promise myself I will never skip my meal 1 for sure.  I can see how my body needs the nourishment.  Before I could have taken my cup of coffee with coconut milk (and honey) and been just fine.  Not now.
Anyway, stay nourished.  My new mantra!!  Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
