    Hey Lauren,
Let me just say that I personally LOVE me some chipotle! It can definitely come in handy when you are in a pinch for food away from home or you want to suggest a place to eat among friends who may not be as into healthy eating as you are. That being said, you are RIGHT, everything they cook is soybean oil based...even if you got the carnitas, the peppers and onions are still sauteed in soybean oil.
To avoid the soybean oil you could do the romaine lettuce, carnitas, guacamole, and pico. Double the meat and maybe even the guacamole too.

I think you are doing exactly what you need to be doing. Listen to your body. Sounds like you are seeing a lot of positive results.
My only word of caution is don't get stuck into the idea that on days you don't workout you should only eat 2 meals EVER. Be flexible. For example, there will be some weeks when Im just not as hungry, so I don't 3 big meals. However, within a few weeks I notice hunger ramping up again and I happily revert back to 3 meals.
    Hope that makes sense

Ladies, please give the whole 30 the fullest experience you can. Whole grains do nothing for you. I repeat NOTHING. If you need calories, eat fruit, almond butter, coconut milk, coconut butter. There is simply no reason to resort back to grains for calorie content.
I'm sorry for the tough love here on this, but resorting back to grains is not your only option here.
Nothing worth doing was every easy. Eating grains is easy. Sticking to a whole 30 might be one of the hardest changes you ever make. But I can promise you, it is so worth it!

Melissa- that sounds amazing! Where do you Dallas go when you normally go south of the border?
The only thing I would add on to Melissa's is some beach volleyball and tequila + lime
My ideal vacation would be somewhere in the Mediterranean with my husband. One of the greek islands...
We would rent a a small house, white exterior with a blue roof and an ocean view. Or maybe do more of a B&B style. No alarm clocks! We go to bed and rise with the sun. No cars either! Everywhere we go is by foot, biking, boat, or ATV. Our days would be spent boating, fishing, shopping the local markets, yoga, and hiking. We would would eat lamb, wine, eggplant, olives and figs. We would make friends with locals and learn traditional recipes using local ingredients. On weekends we would travel to other islands or countries to visit.
Oh and I would acquire the ability to tan like a greek goddess! It's a dream ok!

Take it one day at a time. One dinner. One Friday. If you look at the whole 30 days at once it can be quite dissapointing to count how many days it will for your next beer.
Brainstorm other ways to wind down from a hard day/week...
    pedi/mani
    movie night
    massage
    obsess over pintrest (haha!)
try a new recipe, play some music in the kitchen and enjoy the experience
    go out dancing

What are some other ways ya'll relax on a Friday night?

If I'm heading to a 5 am class, I try to make sure I load up the night before so I am not in need of too much fuel in the morning.  However, if I do need something, I usually have bone broth before the workout.  Easy to sip in a cup during the drive to the gym.

I use the orange label kind, so I pour the gelatin in my cup, mix is the a little COLD water to absorb it and make a little gel at the bottom. Then I add my tea bag and fill the cup with hot water.

If you don't do it in that order it won't miz properly

    Hi there!

Honestly, I don't think you need to do much of anything different in training for a beginners competition. Focus on your pre and post workout meals - get plenty of protein and some starchy veggies right after the wod, eat starchy veggies A LOT (CrossFit really depletes muscle glycogen stores), and be reasonable with your training to give your muscles time to rest and recover (And get stronger).

Siobbhan - I played club volleyball all through High School and played in college as well. The best advice I can give you is to pack a small cooler to bring along with you. Think sliced deli meat (applegate brand), apples, bananas, sweet potato, coconut water, some nuts. This is the kind of stuff that will get your through the weekend. You will need good fuel to keep energy levels high between games. If you can't pack a cooler than Subway is your next best option, just stick to the salad and double or triple the meat.

So Now Super Enzymes and Now HCL are basically the same thing. The HCL just has a little extra to aid in digestion. I would NOT double up on the two.

If you are looking more digestive aid I would try looking into fermented foods like sauerkraut or kombucha. I have added these into my diet daily and it has made a huge difference in my gut health and they are super tasty.

the emphasis on 3 full meals is more important for those who are coming from a place of skipping breakfast because they just aren't hungry. Because you are eating a hearty breakfast first thing upon waking, I wouldn't worry about forcing down a third. I find this especially true on weekends when we are off of the normal week-day routine. If I wake up late on weekends and eat a late breakfast, it's not uncommon for me to just have 2 big meals. I wouldn't worry about it.

For post workout, you can combine the PWO meal and a regular meal. Some people can't stomach the idea of a full meal right after a workout, but if you can than go for it. Certainly saves time! I will do this from time to time as well. It just depends on the workout and time of day. The only caution I have for combining, is that you could possible under-eat, so just keep an eye on energy levels throughout the day and going into the next workout. If you are dragging I would add in more food to your big meal, if not, then you are good to go!

    Hope that helps!

Sometimes people never get tiger blood. It could be due to a variety of factors.

Re: not falling asleep in time, are you stopping eating at least 2-3 hours before you go to bed?  No screens (e.g., TV, smart phone, iPad) 1-2 hours before bed helps too.

You could also post 2-3 days' worth of your food log to see if folks here have more specific suggested tweaks.
