I love liver and all organ meats. I am walking down the aisles of the organic store. I see this pack and get all excited.

Conversation while paying. Cashier: "Oh your dog is gonna love them!" Me:" I don't have a dog". Akward silence. I stare at the pack. It's a dog treat. Facepalm.

    Hi there.

I am not a moderator, but here are my 2c. Technically they are fine. However, how do I put it nicely? It is not an ideal choice. We want to get healthy and eat nutrient dense food - this product has no nutritional value or health benefits. We want to change relationship with food - this might be a desire to replace pasta ( I say might, please let's not get into SWYPO talk, they are nasty). Zucchini/sweet potato/carrot noodles or spaghetti squash would make a perfect substitutes if the dish is calling for this kind of texture.

This website made me laugh out loud. "The soluble fiber found in the Miracle Noodle slows digestion and prolongs the sensation of fullness and is an essential part of any weight loss program. You also absorb more nutrients in the foods you eat with The Miracle Noodle due to the slowing of digestion". Really? Meat and fat will give you sensation of fullness, people

From a coworker who was sitting across from me drinking a Diet Coke and eating a teriyaki bowl that was 3/4 white rice and 1/4 tofu drenched in sugary teriyaki sauce, while I drank water and ate grilled steak and sautéed veggies:

"You're lucky you're so naturally fit. I could be as skinny as you if I didn't have to work for it."

(Hint: Everyone has to work for it!)

recounting frustrating coop story to a newer coworker about how they never have lamb liver anymore and that I found out it is because they can only get 1.5 lbs per week (that's all the liver from the two lambs they break down and sell for meat) and somebody has been reserving the whole lot FOR A DOG! So I'm complaining that it is not fair and I should find that dog and negotiate for a 1/4 lb and he looks at me totally straight-faced and says:

    "what's it for, your cat?"

You guys. Are you ready for the best story ever? ARE YOU?
Tonight boyfriend I went over to a friend's house for dinner. This friend knows I am doing Whole 30 and is bemused by it, but has been supportive. She made a dish served over couscous, but made sure she cooked everything else with nothing I couldn't have, and I just brought cauliflower rice to go on mine.
Friend has a four year old daughter. This is relevant.
So we're all chatting before dinner, and me doing the Whole 30 comes up, and friend's husband is giving me grief about it, and like a million times in the conversation, "whole wheat" comes up with reference to the couscous. He's saying things like "but it's whole wheat," and "whole wheat is good for you," and whole wheat whole wheat whole wheat ad nauseum.
So we sit down to dinner, and the four year old takes one look at the couscous and starts to cry. Husband shoots me this dirty look and I'm like DUDE I didn't say anything to your kid, I would never, and so he says, "Baby, the couscous is so good, it's whole wheat."
Kidlet cries harder. Dad says, "Why don't you want to eat the good whole wheat, is it because Miss Ali isn't eating it?"
"NO," sobs the kidlet, "THAT'S WHAT GOES IN THE KITTY POTTY."
    Yup.

New Years health talk in the lunch room at work...

Coworker: I started doing Weight Watchers again.
    Me: Oh?
CW: Yeah, it works, I lost 30lbs last time.
Me: Ummm....did it really "work" if you have to do it again?
Coworker: I lost 30lbs last time.

I actually feel like the "I'm doing WW again because it worked for me before" is something I hear a lot and just doesn't make sense.

Wow, best topic ever. I feel I could fill this entire thread with things people have said to me. It doesn't help when you're single and dating AND you're a personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist (lots of steel cut oats and peanut butter pushers around me).

On a first date, within 10 minutes of meeting:
    Her: "Do you take steroids?"
    Me: "..."

    Giving a nutrition seminar:
    Her: "But what about lentils?"
Me: "Well, technically lentils are a legume so they wouldn't be a best choice, in my opinion, as we already covered."
Her: "But I really like them."
Me: "Okay, well it just comes down to personal choice then. Whether you want to continue eating them or not, is a personal choice."
    Her: "But now I can't."
    Me: "..."

Dealing with my stubborn (but lovable) grandmother over the holiday. She hasn't eaten vegetables for years, and is now seeing ill health effects. My mom literally asked me to send her a list of foods to eat, even after she went to a nutritionist (they told her to drink Ensure...sigh.)
[scenario: I'm eating 2 grassfed hot dogs, kale, eggs, and chicken, cooked in coconut oil. She stares at me like she is dying to say something.]
    Her: "Is that your breakfast!?"
    Me: "...Yes."
Her: "All that fat can't be good for you!"
    Me: "Well, actually, saturated fat...nevermind."

At dinner, later that night, she eats a small portion of steak, with no vegetables, and endlessly complains of how badly she feels. Thank God she's lovable.

Also legit had someone break up with me because I wouldn't eat Italian food or drink alcohol. Not after like a few dates. This was after over a month of dating. Previously claimed that 'I like you because you're like a genius at nutrition.' Sigh.

While training clients, I commonly get asked for nutrition suggestions, and I routinely say something paleo, and they get a big smile and say 'is that what YOU eat?' and wink. Suggestively. The most depressing part is they are always married. It's always the ones you think are genuinely good people, with kids and what not. Barf.

    At family functions I've gotten...

"Well I'm really going to lose weight, I've been doing Insanity a lot so now I can eat more chocolate cake all the time and not feel bad!"

Them: "I really want to lose weight. What's the best way to do it?"
Me: "Well you really want to re-think what and how you eat. Nutrition will play a much bigger role than exercise."
Them: "Well I really just want a six pack." (Ed. Note: Oh boy, do you get this one a lot!)
Me: "Well that's really a body fat issue. If you lose weight (specifically fat) you will be able to see the ab muscles you already have."
Them: "...this sounds like a lot of work. I thought you could just give me a pre-workout to take or something. Thanks though. I'm really going to do it this time."

About 15 seconds elapses, and then I watch them go grab 2 slices of chocolate cake.

I am pretty sure that I've read that metal lids are ok as long as they don't touch the liquid. Metal can actually erode. Just note that you will have to puree all the flavoring, so you can strain it without problems. No big deal I guess.
Susan, does your booch get fizzy after the first ferment? Mine is sparkling even prior bottling. I wonder if tea has anything to do with this. I am actually using plain black from Russian store. Maybe that's the pixie dust Green tea batch will give the answer.
Now question fro pro-s. What do you do with your new babies? I mean every week I am getting two new offsprings. Even if I keep two as a backup... I can sell them if I find enough booch enthusiasts here. My Dad has the same question. Are you throwing them away? Gasp.
Btw, for those who haven't seen, I am bragging. Daddy and his new yeastie friend!

Susan, look at these. I am dying. So flipping expensive for the pretty bottle.
