    Hi there.

I am not a moderator, but here are my 2c. Technically they are fine. However, how do I put it nicely? It is not an ideal choice. We want to get healthy and eat nutrient dense food - this product has no nutritional value or health benefits. We want to change relationship with food - this might be a desire to replace pasta ( I say might, please let's not get into SWYPO talk, they are nasty). Zucchini/sweet potato/carrot noodles or spaghetti squash would make a perfect substitutes if the dish is calling for this kind of texture.

This website made me laugh out loud. "The soluble fiber found in the Miracle Noodle slows digestion and prolongs the sensation of fullness and is an essential part of any weight loss program. You also absorb more nutrients in the foods you eat with The Miracle Noodle due to the slowing of digestion". Really? Meat and fat will give you sensation of fullness, people

    Just got this one:

"Beer is healthy.  They say it's the best thing you can have if you're doing heavy training."

There's just nothing I can say to that.  Really.

    Dialog of two co-workers:

Co-worker 1:- Do you want some of these? (Pack of something cracker like)
Before wedding cabbage dieter/co-worker2 - Are they healthy?
Co-worker 1: Yes! They are low-fat and with fiber. Nadia probably screams NO.
    Me: Exactly.
Co-worker2: Well, they are low in calories and pack says they are healthy. (Grabs the pack).

This has happened to me today, I posted in my log, however I feel like sharing in this thread too
I love liver and all organ meats. I am walking down the aisles of the organic store. I see this pack and get all excited.

Conversation while paying. Cashier: "Oh your dog is gonna love them!" Me:" I don't have a dog". Akward silence. I stare at the pack. It's a dog treat. Facepalm.

My cherry vanilla kombucha isn't half bad! I had to strain out the cherry pulp because it was gross to drink (i'm picky about texture!) but the flavor is pretty good. Next will be peach ginger!

Kb, mine decided to relax too. I get it it's summer time, she wants to chill, but it's not even growing to fill the surface of the jar. Time to bug Dad for one.

Looks like everyone is rolling along nicely.  I have missed my booch buddies!  I am in booch heaven now that I am back from vacation.  Just before I left I bottled 16 16oz grolsch bottles then stored a few SCOBYs in a hotel and made a fesh 2 gallons.  Now I am home and I have those 16 bottles in the fridge AND I have to bottle the 2 gallons I made before leaving.  Out of bottles though, oops!  Looks like I will have to use mason jars (hope I have enough for that and canning veggies).  I am happy though, I can drink booch till my hearts content (never)!  I think I may just go simple with this bottling though and make mostly ginger and some cherry lime.  I have too much else to do to catch up from vacation

Well, Vian, it comes from the person who exclaims "oh no, this is too healthy, you know I am not dieting or anything" when offered a granola bar by another co-worker. I just bite my tonge every time, but I really wanna know what is an unhealthy dish in her opinion. Probably steak. Red meat will kill us all.

My officemate insists that she and her husband can't do a Whole30 because her husband has high cholesterol (they also have high BP, sleep apnea, and weight issues).  She then says she's switched to cooking with 100% margarine vs. butter because it has no cholesterol. *facepalm*

Throwing her a bone, but unable to completely bite my tongue I suggest she try coconut oil, which doesn't have any cholesterol either.  She says, "Oh we can't have that!  It's all saturated fat and that's the bad stuff!"

On the plus side, since we started Whole30, my parents have "come out of the closet" that they are eating paleo.  My mom has lost 20 lbs and is at her lowest weight in 20+years (with more to lose) and my dad has lost 25 lbs.  But then, they eat clean during the week and cheat a little on the weekends.  I suggested a Whole30 challenge to boost their awesome results and my mom wants to lose an additional 10 pounds in short order.  She said, "Oh, that's not sustainable.  Too restrictive!"  C'mon, mom!!!  So frustrating.

I DID IT! I GREW A SCOBY! Even messing up and using a black tea with orange oil in it, this baby still grew in about 6 days! I'm going to let it thicken up a bit more before I move it into my big jar, but wow, I'm so excited! It literally appeared overnight. I checked on it yesterday and there was nothing but a little blob of something floating at one side, then today it's a beautiful milky film almost covering the whole top! I covered the jar with paper towel and put it in the top shelf of my kitchen cabinet to keep it dark and warm. YAY!

I ended up running around a big strip mall here to various stores, Big Lots, TJ Max, Target, Pier 1, etc.

Almost all of them had some kind of glass drink dispenser, ranging from $20-$60.

I ended up getting this one at TJ Max for $16.99 The spigot is plastic, and it holds about 1.8 gallons and it fits under my cabinets! It's full of water to make sure the seal around the spigot wasn't leaking.

Carlaccini, I've done this a couple times and what worked for me was to feed the SCOBY a lot of tea to which I'd added more sugar than usual, so it needed more time to ferment. Then I bottled when I got home.

I've bottled my first batch-- Strawberry & Mint.

Nearly had a bit of a kitchen disaster as I couldn't get the spigot to close again.

    Dialog with colleague:
    - Nadia, I've made fantastic caramel bars, I'll bring some for you.
    - Thanks Mel, so sweet of you, but save them for your family. I don't eat sweets.
    - But they are homemade! They are good for you!
    - No, thanks Mel, I guess they are just less bad rather than good.
    - I'll show you a recipe, they are perfectly healthy!
Turned out to be a 3 step thing: put crackers, top with butter/sugar so it forms caramel layer, top with huge layer of chocolate.
They are so perfectly healthy that I might quit Whole30 and eat them for bf, lunch and dinner
