You and me, both, @Srini! I had a cold, too, so I didn't feel like cooking. It was take-out, desserts, and wine lol. I am so glad to be back "home" on W30. May your aches, pains, and weight all disappear!

Yesterday I scraped by, barely! I was out of the house 7:30 am till 7:30 pm, which meant 2 meals in the car between appointments. It was all compliant, but much more fruit than I've been eating. By the time I went to bed I just didn't feel right. But I didn't go off-plan. This morning I had eggs and cabbage. OMG DO I FEEL BETTER. I think my body has kinda shifted to fat-burning and likes it that way! Buuuuut ... my face is breaking out again, too, @CrazyCookie! That's okay, though. I feel better.

Just to check in, all is well here. I continue to feel ... fine. I feel so much better eliminating those unhealthy carbs, but other than that there's no kill all the things / cravings / fatigue / tiger's blood / nothing. That's cool by me! I made a terrible compliant dish Friday night lol. It was ground turkey, veggies, some seasonings. Eeeccchh. So bland. And, it's TURKEY. I don't like turkey hahah! So I added beans to it, some water and seasonings, and gave it to my neighbor as chili! Tonight I made something I could eat all of: shredded sweet potato, shredded apple, cinnamon and nutmeg, salt and pepper, eggs blended with coconut milk poured over, a few raisins sprinkled, and baked. When you're off sugar, sweet potatoes and apples taste like dessert, so I felt like I was getting dessert for dinner :). May everyone's week be awesome!

Probably not the answer you want lol, but have you investigated polyphasic sleeping? It sounds like you're on your way already! Google it.

Tonight I was at a potluck, and virtually everything was non-compliant (except for my dish, of course). I thought about caving and having battered fried chicken, when a friend came up to me in line and asked, "Did I hear you're doing Whole 30?" THANK YOU GOD for sending an accountability partner when I needed it! I ate some fresh veggies, my dish, and decided to just really eat when I got home. So I'm still good at the end of Day 6! Still not feeling anything. But this time I'm hoping that I'll drop a little weight. We'll see!

I feel the same. I did during the entire Whole 30 last time as well. But at the end I definitely had a different relationship with food. It was still valuable.

What am I eating? You mean, recipes? I scour Pinterest about once/week. I was just doing it, in fact. Tonight will be sweet potato/ground turkey skillet (minus the mozzarella). The sides will be garlic ginger red cabbage (OMG look that one up--it's to die for) and baked parsnip "french fries". I try to make double-sized meals so I can eat leftovers for breakfast or lunch the next couple of days. If you mean, what snacky stuff do I have, then: I keep canned beets on hand, the unsweetened kind. I like beets, and they can be eaten any temperature, so if I'm going to be gone a lot of the day they work to carry in the car in a plastic container. Ditto for hardboiled eggs. Fortunately, I like eggs lol. I eat them fried with veggies on the side (or under, or over), and I make omelettes and frittatas with gobs of leafy greens and other veggies and maybe fresh salsa and avocado on top. Sometimes I pick up some uncured/W30 compliant meat that I have sliced at the deli bar, and I just roll the slices up with a bit of compliant mayo and/or horseradish. Or, I roll them up in lettuce. I keep fresh veggies that I like on hand: baby carrots, mini bell peppers, snap peas. I also make a smoothie most days. I know that's discouraged--we should just really eat the fruits and veggies--but my autistic T1 diabetic daughter just doesn't eat well, and this is the ONE place in the day when I can get veggies down her, and she actually likes that we share the smoothie. She will tell anyone she hates coconut / nuts / avocado / seeds / pineapple / most fruits and veggies, but she drinks them everyday :). I'll fill a VitaMix half to 3/4 full of leafy greens and then add cherries or berries, sometimes other fruit. Then I'll also add almonds or cashews or chia seeds or beets or flaked coconut or baby carrots or avocado or whatever. I don't add any sweeteners. Down it goes. Voila!

Yes, I was there, on my first W30. It DOES get better. It took a couple of weeks for me, and I had been eaten fairly clean already. I didn't lose any weight on my first W30, and this was probably why. But it DID GET BETTER. My guess would be to keep doing exactly what you've been doing for now. When your body gets used to running more on fat, it'll be okay.

So far so good still! Last night Hubby was on "make dinner duty" and his day ran super long, so he picked up Panda Express on the way home. This was PRECISELY what happened in my last W30, and I ate Panda and had to start over. Not this time! I found part of a leftover steak, heated up green beans, and treated myself to the last persimmon so I wouldn't wish (too much!) that I were eating Sweet Fire Chicken instead. Made it through! And my face is looking better! W00t w00t! If you already saw this, I apologize profusely! It just looks like I didn't post this 2 days ago.

It might be that your body is trying to figure out how to run on fat rather than all carbs. It might be saying, "Yeah, I see all the food, but where's the GLUCOSE?" Just keeping telling it that fat and protein are what it can have, and it'll get the idea eventually!

Happy Day 3 to everyone! So far so good for me. I found last time that I didn't experience many of the ups and downs that were promised--no headache, no "kill all the things", but also no tiger blood :/. We'll see how it goes this time. I don't know others' feelings, but my thought is that if anyone already blew it and is restarting, tell us! Let us support you! Get back on the horse and try again :). I really found those daily emails to help the first time through. No one would have known if I had lied, but I really wanted to check the "I finished the day" box at the bottom of the emails. It was a great boost. Have good day, everyone!

So what seems to be the biggest hurdle in meal planning? Fatigue just getting in the way (you did say three small children!)? Meals that everyone will eat? Planning a MEAL when Hubby is gone and kids want cereal? Probably someone here has found a way around whatever it is.

So far so good for me! But we've been warned that it will likely get worse before it gets better lol. After eating total crap over the holidays, I slept normally for the first time in a while last night. Apparently all those carbs were causing sleep issues, too. Today my skin is all broken out (acne in your 60s is lousy lol), and I'm assuming that's just cleansing through my skin. That's bound to improve. (Right?) @MistyJG, I didn't lose any weight with my first Whole 30, but I think I was way overdoing nuts and stuff. I don't want to lose the fats, but I want to fill up on other things and not snack so much. Here's to both of us looking fantastic in February!
