    Thank you @SugarcubeOD!
My re-introduction is going well.  I started with dairy last Thursday and didn't notice any negative effects.  I  had two drinks at the Super Bowl party we attended and I noticed that I woke up multiple times during the night.  I usually wake up at least once, but I definitely got worse sleep last night and that's something that I'd never really thought about as being an effect of alcohol consumption.  Next steps for me are eating compliant for the rest of the work day and then trying wheat next Saturday.

Hello! My reintroduction is going well. I tried oatmeal February 1 and I did not notice any effects. I decided to focus on foods that I know I want to add back, if possible.  I tried gluten yesterday so I am still monitoring. I noticed in another reintroduction thread the idea of taking more days to see if a food is affecting you. I think I will try that the next time since I a most curious about grains and gluten and it does make sense that it may take more than one day of exposure to notice a difference.

Congrats on finishing everyone! So awesome to hear about the NSVs as well as some SVs too!
I also hit an 8 pound weight loss, which if you break it down is an average of 2 pounds per week and that's a healthy, sustainable rate!  I had the advantage of starting to work with a new personal trainer at the start of January so weighed myself at the gym on a scale that also does body composition. In addition to the 8 pounds, I've also lost about 3% body fat (which explains the more comfortable jeans). I've learned from previous journeys that exercise isn't the main weight loss driver for me, it's ALL about the nutrition so that was a big reason for me to choose W30 in the first place....nothing like some serious structure to get myself back on track!
Reintroduction yesterday was with dairy, no issues. Don't really have a desire to add back anything else so I figure I'll continue to take that a day at a time. I never lost the sugar cravings so I'm staying far, far away from sweets!

Funny thing:  I had decided I was going to weigh myself today but I stashed my scale away so carefully when I started on Jan 2 that I can't find it!  It doesn't help that we're having a contractor doing work in our bathroom right now so there is a lot of stuff that is definitely not where it's supposed to be, but I thought it was pretty funny.

    DAY 30!
I have struggled a bit with between meal munchie/craving feelings, but I think it is mostly due to stress about some things going on. I have gone back and forth on reintroduction, but I decided to go with grains tomorrow (oatmeal and rice), Dairy on Sunday (feta cheese, Greek yogurt), and gluten next Wednesday. Those are the items I most want to test and which I would want to have in my regular diet. I am doing ok living without legumes. I know my sugar dragon is still lurking ready to take over. I will have a few events next weekend and February 12-13, then I will start again on Wednesday February 14. Meal planning is still something I need to work on, so I think I will try the meal plans program next month.

    Holy cow - day 30!!
Hard to believe it's here already!  Feeling so proud of myself  (and everyone else too) for making it through the whole month, despite the challenges like nights out, being sick, etc. etc.
I am still a bit sick, so I am going to go a few extra days before starting reintroduction, but for those of you starting tomorrow, congratulations, I can't wait to hear how it goes!
Congratulations again everyone, I hope your last day is absolutely fantastic!

wine.  on thursday.   one glass.   i'm surprised that i have not been tempted by wine at all during this process.  have been to at least three celebrations and it's in the house.  also, truth be told, i was worried about the possibility of not being able to do without!   such insights.
gum or breath mints, in a pinch, on the other hand.  ugh.

    Hi All!
I wish you all a happy Friday! I can't believe that this is the last weekend! It really has gone fast.
I have to tell you I made the BEST recipe last night. https://nomnompaleo.com/sheet-pan-chicken-fajitas
These on butter lettuce were so incredible! The avocado crema too! The only thing I changed was I used 1 Tbsp of lime juice in the crema instead of 2!
    Have a great weekend!

Hard to believe we are less than a week away from being done!  I am getting excited for the re-introduction phase of the program to see if I can identify any foods problematic to me.  Before W30 I had bad eczema and mild asthma that was acting up at night - both seem to have gone away, so it will be interesting to pin point what might be triggering these issues.  I was/am wanting to extend beyond the 30 days, but am worried that if I do, once I reach the end I won't be as willing to watch foods that I am re-introducing.  So, instead, my plan is to do a fast-track re-introduction for the first part of February and then do another round - hopefully a W45 to take me to April!  My goal is that by the end of this second round I will be confident enough to go "off the program" and enjoy Food Freedom.
We usually try to get groceries once per week, so for our grocery list this week, I am getting some legumes to reintroduce on day 31 - plan on testing peanuts, peas, and beans!  So crazy to me, to be thinking about this already!!
This past weeks dinners included W30 compliant stew, salmon served with an avocado/jalapeno dressing accompanied by roasted veggies, pesto baked chicken with zucchini noodles, "egg-roll" in a bowl - essentially just a stirfry with ground meat and sauteed veggies (cabbage, carrots, peppers, celery, ginger, garlic, onion, cilantro) mixed with coconut aminos.  Tonight we are doing "W30 Sloppy Joe Bowls" served with salad that I will top with a homemade mayo-based dressing.
Happy Friday everyone, hope you all had a good week!

This is the recipe I used: https://physicalkitchness.com/whole30-sloppy-joe-bowls/ and I served it with sweet potato rather than a regular potato
I definitely recommend only using 2 or 3 dates - I think 5 would be too sweet (seems to be a consistent thought amongst reviews too). I also cut back a bit on the vinegar - my husband hates vinegar so I tried to make sure he wouldn’t be able to taste it. And, I haven’t been able to find compliant Dijon mustard so I used a combination of mustard powder, turmeric, and paprika instead - I have made it with Dijon when not doing W30. Everyone in our house loved it!

I rescheduled my doctor's appointment for my 6 month check up so I don't have to get weighed
I can't believe we're entering our last week! I've definitely seen a difference in myself, and there will definitely be some permeant changes that come from this.
Thanks, everyone, for taking the journey! Hope the last week treats you well.

I made it through the NYC weekend without cheating, although let me tell you a glass of wine sure sounded nice! Questions and explaining at restaurants definitely detract from the dining out experience, and sometimes makes me wonder why I impost restrictions on myself to begin with - it's not that I want bread, or fries, or cheese, but making the chef make substitutions to avoid a little cooked down wine at a French restaurant just feels arbitrary.
Apparently food boredom is normal around this time. I've experienced a little bit of it - especially around breakfast and when eating out, when options are fairly limited - but overall I'm excited about this week's meal plan.
Keep it up through this final stretch, y'all!

Hello all!  HUGE NSV for me last week... I made it through a week in the land of CHEESE CURDS, spent 15 hours in various airports on the 15th, lived in a hotel room for 4 days and, because I was prepared, I was able to stay 100% compliant and I feel FANTASTIC!!
Happy day 21, everyone!  Keep up the great work!

Have just gone through all of your posts, so great to hear all of the NSVs!!! Very exciting!!
I have had a crazy week with work so haven’t had much time to get on here - time outside of the office seemed to be used up in the kitchen and the gym (not that I’m complaining) - I was so exhausted heading into bed most nights, so I started to wonder if I would ever get “tiger blood”, but thanks to the Day by Day book, and a few articles online, I reset my expectations and realized that my energy has actually been really good. I powered through 10 hour work days without a second thought, fit a workout in every day except yesterday, and still managed to cook and eat good suppers AND finish the dishes afterwards. Thinking of everything I accomplished, it was no wonder I was ready for bed at night!!
Dinners this past week included stuffed peppers (W30 book), grilled chicken with salad (different salads dif. nights), chicken with vegetables in a curry sauce (amazing!). Lunch was leftovers and breakfast was chicken sausage patties (W30 book) with salad topped with either coconut, olives, or mayo based dressing).
We have my husbands work Christmas party tonight (yes, it’s a month late!). It’s a pre-set menu, so I’m going to be eating before-hand and then bringing an emergency snack in my purse in case it goes a bit late. I feel like if I can get through tonight, the last 10 days or so will be no problem! And I’m definitely motivated/inspired by all of your success stories with your events and nights out.
I hope everyone has a great W30 weekend!

@LagunaRover - YAY!!  It's amazing how just feeling better in your clothes makes you feel so good, but when someone comments - that's the best!
Last night we had a little going away gathering for a friend who will be on leave for a bit.  This is my social group at work and we do love our wine.  I had a lime cut in my office, ready to go if I needed it as camouflage; black olives ready to cut open should I need them.  Thought I would first peruse the scene of the party - so, I did - and they had grapes, sugar snap peas and guacamole - all compliant. I took a small plate and poured sparkling water in a wine glass and had a blast.  Did not take one bite or sip that was off plan.  I felt so strong and empowered when I left - it was a great feeling!
This weekend and next week - more challenges involving overnighters for fun and then travel for work.  I am taking a cooler with my food/water.  Seems the best way and I'm not going to be apologetic about it.
@MaineacMom - your meal plan looks scrumptious!  Go girl!  Way to combat the cold.  What a tough winter.
Day 18 felt really solid.  Hoping the rest of the month is as strong and uplifting!
    Have a great weekend everyone!!

    Yea day 18!
Someone at work this morning told me I was looking really good and that she could see some changes in my tummy area! (She's a good work friend so that wasn't an inappropriate comment, by the way...) In fact today I do see and feel some changes.  I'm wearing a pair of pants which used to be uncomfortably tight and now they are just tight (hey, I'll take that!) I have a few go-to dishes that I eat all the time and always have leftovers, and this weekend I'll experiment with some other recipes too. My work days are manic with meetings the entire day, including lunch meetings, and I just go in there with my compliant food and fill myself up while ignoring all the other food unless there are some items I know I can eat too.
How is everyone doing this Friday?

Hurray for your NSV's!. I am in the metro DC area so I understand the challenges of staying ....friendly... while dealing with traffic and pedestrians. I seem to remember a thread in the forum of people doing a Whole 30 during Lent and I am also going to start again Ash Wednesday.
I am enjoying the cooking and have tried some different recipes. Last night I made the turkey meatballs from the Fast and Easy cookbook, spaghetti squash (which turned out good), and the spaghetti sauce from Whole 30 book. It was so good and husband loved it. He is not doing Whole30 (yet :), but he has celiac. All of the gluten free pastas I have made for him end up very gummy though he still eats it. I think he may be ok with switching to spaghetti squash.

This weekend will be the most challenging for me. We're headed to New York City (to see Hamilton!), where there is so much food (bagels!) and so many friends who want to grab a drink! We've found a couple great places for meals that I'm actually looking forward to, and are going to make it a lower key weekend than we likely otherwise would. I do take satisfaction in knowing that it will surely be a healthier weekend than it otherwise would have been!

I think the tiger blood has hit!  If that is what prompted me to get into high gear and make "perfect burgers" last night, then roast spaghetti squash and sweet potatoes; and while those were roasting, making the downright SCRUMPTIOUS mashed cauliflower!  Went to bed a little later than usual; slept till 5 and took the dog for a power walk/jog.  It felt SO GOOD!
Also - confession/confusion time - I am not sure how it is I fit into those jeans, b/c my other clothes still just slightly less snug, and other smaller things aren't really fitting yet.  I must have stretched them out so much last time I tried to get into them  ... and with less bloat I was able to zip them up.  Who knows?  It's baffling to me - but I don't care - I feel SO GOOD!   I know I am walking taller.  I feel happier.  I find I am being gentler with strangers, too.  I work in SF, and pedestrians and cars alike can be so annoying, but I've been much calmer when getting cut off by a car while in a crosswalk; or when someone with head buried in phone just plain stops right in the middle of the sidewalk...
Anyway, I am LOVING the food.  Referring to the W30 book is making me a better cook.  I never looked up how to make a burger before (how hard can it be?), and now, I see what I have been doing wrong!  Day by Day is a great way to track everything and as someone above said, moving that marker to the next page is really satisfying.  I am also thinking of slowly adding back in only wine after the 30 days, bc birthday, and then continuing with W40 through Lent.  I support a team going to trial right after Easter and I am finding this way of eating and behavior modification is totally busting stress issues for me!
Sorry for the long winded-ness, but I really feel like this challenge is a winner!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be 16 days on track!
I love moving the bookmark in my Whole30 day by day! I can see how far I've come!
I am so amazed by the food freedom that I already feel!
I have been a carb and sugar addict my whole life! I'm 52 and have never had that monkey off my back.
    This is truly amazing!
I am still waiting on my tiger blood!
    Stay strong! We've got this!
