Congrats on finishing everyone! So awesome to hear about the NSVs as well as some SVs too! I also hit an 8 pound weight loss, which if you break it down is an average of 2 pounds per week and that's a healthy, sustainable rate! I had the advantage of starting to work with a new personal trainer at the start of January so weighed myself at the gym on a scale that also does body composition. In addition to the 8 pounds, I've also lost about 3% body fat (which explains the more comfortable jeans). I've learned from previous journeys that exercise isn't the main weight loss driver for me, it's ALL about the nutrition so that was a big reason for me to choose W30 in the first place....nothing like some serious structure to get myself back on track! Reintroduction yesterday was with dairy, no issues. Don't really have a desire to add back anything else so I figure I'll continue to take that a day at a time. I never lost the sugar cravings so I'm staying far, far away from sweets!

YAY DAY 30!!!! Had my first dream about eating off-plan foods last night, woke up feeling so guilty that I blew it on the very last day! I didn't do much meal prep last weekend so did a little last night to get me through the end of the week. Really really don't want to go off the rails during the transition. Looking forward to hearing how it goes for the group the next few days.

Hi guys! Ditto to the "can't believe we're there" feeling. I'm feeling hopelessly conflicted about what to re-introduce on Thursday. I had pushed out a lunch meeting from Wednesday to Thursday to make sure I kept myself on track right until the end, and now that lunch meeting has cancelled! (fate, I'm sure). From previous food sensitivity testing I know that peanuts and tree nuts rank fairly high for me as a source of irritation so I want to push the legume intro out further into the reintroduction phase. Since dairy wasn't an issue for me with that testing, thinking maybe a little bit of cheese goes onto my eggs Thursday morning! My husband was also pretty funny last night...he wants to have one of our family roast beef recipes and I told him I had to check ingredients to make sure I don't over-do it (he wasn't impressed). Lots of NSVs to keep in mind going into reintroduction to keep the focus on eating right, interestingly I still have some inflammation and haven't been able to pinpoint it.

Hard to believe we’re going into the homestretch. Just wrapped up food prep for the week (Denver had a snowstorm today so hunkered down in the kitchen). It’s definitely getting easier and I was a better multitasker so it didn’t take so long. Unfortunately I didn’t feel great today...felt lightheaded a good bit of the day. I suspect I didn’t eat enough so just had a bigger than usual dinner with some fruit. Hopefully that’ll do the trick.

So awesome to hear the group's progress and hearing how you're seeing positive change! No burst of tigers blood for me yet but I don't know that I'll be one that sees a big light switch moment anyway. I am seeing progress though, not getting the mid afternoon crashes, snack cravings are going away, and headaches are gone. I do still have a pretty low tolerance for "stupid" at work, gotta work on that positive attitude! Also started with a new personal trainer last week, my former guy moved out of state so finding someone that clicks with me has been a bit of a journey. I'm usually a first thing in the morning gym rat but my new trainer does the day shift. He's able to meet me after work so am making a habit shift to see him at 6pm. We worked out last night and it was FANTASTIC! Best workout I've had in a long time. I made sure I got a pre workout compliant snack which I'm sure helped. I've got the next month mapped out with him from a workout perspective and I think I'll probably be extending W30 because clean healthy eating is going to be critical to achieving my goals. Congrats to all of us for making it into week 3!

Thanks for the raisin tip. I triple checked the ingredients and no added sulphites so I think you're right and it's just naturally occurring stuff in them. I've been drinking lots of fluids this morning and already feeling puffiness going down which is further convincing me it was a yesterday thing. Boo....I like raisins, bummed they (apparently) don't like me back!

Ugh... back to being puffy today (can't wedding rings don't want to go on this morning). I think it's raisins.... they're the only thing "different" from what I've been eating other days and which I'd substituted into a recipe because I couldn't find unsweetened cranberries in a local grocery store to save my life. Found them on Amazon and they arrive tomorrow, will see if/how things change with cutting them out. Lesson learned - need to keep listening to the body through the process!

Can't believe tomorrow is Day 14... whoo hoo, yay for us! I'm also starting to see an upturn, not the "flip the switch" kind of feeling but rather smaller things. I'm feeling less puffy and definitely have more energy. Headaches are gone and while the pizza brought in by our Finance team today looked REALLY good I'm generally doing well with cravings. Like most of you, did a lot of cooking this weekend but with it being the 3rd time through the rodeo it was easier knowing what works and what doesn't. Found this recipe for chicken/sweet potato hash browns and tried it out this weekend, it was yummmmmyyyyy and an easy quick-hit for lunch on Saturday: http://www.realfoodwithdana.com/chicken-hash-browns-the-healing-kitchen-review/ Also made the Whole30 ranch dressing to add to things since I haven't been getting enough fat. That required an epic search of the kitchen/pantry/basement for my immersion blender that I knew I had but somehow had gotten tucked away somewhere by mysterious house gremlins. After 30 minutes of searching then finally recruiting my husband to look everywhere I'd already checked he found it. So more immersion blender recipes are on the horizon for next weekend. And a funny today... a co-worker made a stop by my office today to tell me that she thought I was looking really good ("not that you didn't before"... ). She thought my face looked thinner and my skin looked great. I didn't tell her that I happened to actually wear foundation today, but took the compliment and ran. Because I'm FEELING better!

omg, I’ve been having strange dreams too... not about eating non-plan food, rather they’re very intense. Usually running from something (the other night it was a hovering helicopter that went completely silent, had to find a hiding place from it.). Perhaps it’s bad habits chasing me? Not seeing physical changes yet either, but despite being tired I do feel better. Like my body is cleaning itself out. Spent some time on the troubleshooting section of the forum and will be focusing on more water to help the process. This morning am planning out the week’s meals then heading out to grocery shop for my weekly cooking session tomorrow. It’s much easier than at the start because I know what I like and how much to make, then how to plan for end of week when stuff prepared on Sunday is gone or past it’s fridge date. Onward!

Have been having tough days here too, got up to go to the gym this morning and was so exhausted I turned around and went back to bed for another hour! So good to hear how others are pushing through. Feeling very puffy tonight, and really hit the wall at 2pm today. I think potatos aren’t helping me so will cut those out for the rest of the program thanks all for the inspiration to keep going, I was having serious thoughts tonight about a swan dive off the program and into a bowl of ranch dip and ruffles potato chips! But y’all are right, we’re almost half way and haven’t really given it a chance so I. Will. Stay. Strong!

Happy Day One everyone! So far so good today, yesterday's marathon food prep session is paying off as I was able to have a structured, satisfying meal 1 and meal 2. Found out today one of my good friends at work has also started W30 so I have an accountability partner (whoop whoop, bonus!!). But a couple questions for the group: 1) I'm feeling like my intense focus on the program is causing me to feel more hungry than I really am. In other words, thinking about what I'm going to eat is making me want to eat. Is this normal (probably) and any words of wisdom on how to re-focus? 2) In reading another thread in the forum I saw some posts about flavored coffee potentially being out of bounds (not adding flavor to coffee, the coffee beans that have flavor... like for example Peppermint Bark Donut Shop Keurig single serve pods). I've read the books and thought I had the rules down but in my mind I guess I just had "I don't add sugar/cream/etc to my coffee therefore I already drink black coffee so therefore I don't have to worry about the coffee thing" in my head. Now that I've worked through my "well CRUD" moment and am drinking really truly no additive black coffee, was wondering if the group has had any other "oops I didn't think about that" moments they can share to help this newbie avoid more assumption pitfalls?

Hey gang. Will be starting my 1st Whole30 on January 2nd, I’d lost about 35 pounds a couple years ago but job/life issues derailed me and it all came back in when I allowed emotional eating to take control again. My goal is to detox from processed food and reset from those bad habits! I know I can do this, hubby is on board to help (we’ll see if he fully joins in) plus have a good friend at work who is doing the program. Today was grocery shopping and tomorrow Jan 1 will be meal prep day. I saw the Blue Apron deal on the whole30 website and am thinking about it to help keep momentum towards the end of weeks when I know I tend to get lazy in the kitchen. Anyone have experience with them?
