    Starting January 2!

Thank you so much for your reply and sorry for my late response! I think the problem may have been that I increased my exercise, but not my starchy vegetables and fats. So maybe I am simply lacking fuel. I did not abandon my Whole30 and have decided to go for a Whole60 :-) I still cannot say that I have experienced any real Tiger Blood, but there are definitely a lot of other important NSVs for me. So while a bit of Tiger Blood would be nice, I am still sticking with the program as I truly feel and believe .that it does me a lot of good. Thanks again for your help!

I think I am experiencing the opposite of Tiger Blood at the moment. I feel so, so tired all the time. I also feel very hungry even though I am eating plenty of food. Is anybody experiencing the same or does anybody have some advice?

I am just going through the same. Massive cravings for anything sweet. It usually helps me to inhale some peppermint essential oil. I like to put a little bit of it just between my upper lip and nose. Drinking warm herbal tea also helps I find.

I am surprised to realize that the hardest part of the Whole30 for me so far is to deal with my emotional eating habits. I find the whole30 meals really tasty and I do not feel deprived of anything. However, I find it so difficult not to fall back into old, bad habits of self-medicating with food when something feels off. I have been feeling exhausted and a bit sick the past couple of days and my first reflex is always to want to eat something, especially carbs, fat and sugar, in order to deal with my feelings. I am really happy (and a little proud of myself also :-)) that I have managed to stay strong and not give in to these strong cravings. It helps me to inhale peppermint essential oil and I keep a journal to write down my emotions. Meditation also helps me a lot to deal with stress and fatigue. It also helps me to distract myself for long enough until the cravings pass. So far, the Whole30 has been a really good and important experience for me. Realizing the extent and power of my emotional eating habits and (the process of) learning to deal with my emotions without food is a big NSV for me.

He he, me too! I woke up feeling really guilty. Took me a minute or two to convince myself that everything is ok

I find it funny how accurate the day-to-day description in the Whole30 book applies to me. I have been going from exhausted to moody to discouraged to currently having weird dreams about eating all the things! But overall, I feel really good being on the program. Most importantly, I have struggled with a tendonitis in my knee for months. Rest and physiotherapy did not work. The day before I started the Whole30, I could barely run 3 kilometers without being in pain. Last week I did 6 kilometers almost entirely pain free! I can't wait to see how my next run will go On a different note, have any of you seen this expert assessment of the Whole30, among others? https://health.usnews.com/best-diet At first, I was quite discouraged and confused, given that the expert panel found the Whole30 to be among the worst of the worst in matters of a healthy diet...However, upon further reading, I find the various assessments of the different "diets" inconsistent. I also found there to be a misunderstanding about what the Whole30 is and what it is intended to achieve. In any event and most importantly, I feel really good doing the Whole30

Hi all! This is my first Whole30 and I really hope this program will help me achieve “food freedom”. I do not remember the last time I felt food freedom. My plan was to start the Whole30 on 1 January. However, I keep having to go back to day 1 because I do not read my labels carefully. On 1 January, I made a big batch of pumpkin soup using vegetable stock that contains soy and maltodextrin. Yesterday night I took digestive enzymes that contain rice flour...I hope today will go according to plan! Good luck and happy new year to you all!
