The dreams are killing me, I am remembering my dreams every night which I don't often do, and every night I am sabotaging my whole 30, EVERY night without fail, last night I ate a white bread sandwich, I didn't even eat bread before I started a whole 30, in fact nothing I've dreamt about has been food I would normally eat.

Jim4884 we have this amazing butcher close by and he makes all his sausages on the premises, most are completely grain free and compliant, they are all made from biodynamic or organically raised pasture fed meat, I get excited whenever I go to the butcher.

Make sure you check the ingredients on the sausage if you're not making your own - I accidentally sabotaged my first shot at a whole 30 (last month) because the sausage I was eating almost every morning had added sugar and I hadn't thought to check sooner.   Weekend cook ups are a way of life for me now - but I'm kind of enjoying it all!  My roommate is amazed at how much cooking I am doing lol

I've been slack in coming in here but whole 30 finished and of course on day 31 I finally make homemade almond milk OMG where have you been all my life. I've managed to have no caffeine for the whole 30 and have decided that dairy is now not for me (sob sob it's so yummy). I think my sugar addiction is now under control and I've lost 2kg. I'm a pretty all or nothing person so I think I'll drink the occasional coffee and allow myself to have some baked goods but apart from that I'm going to stick to a stricter paleo diet. I know I tolerate rice but I'd prefer to skip it and I've discovered activating my nuts as during the whole 30 I realised I can't tolerate cashews, but once soaked I'm all good. I'm making an apple and berry crumble for dessert tonight with cashew cream, it's sugar free and the topping is nuts and coconut, my husband laughed at what I was planning on indulging with but you know I'm not really wanting chocolate because of the dairy or anything laden with sugar that will be too sweet and disgusting anyway.

Day 4 today and I'm feeling pretty good actually, the aches and pains and cravings have subsided. Tomorrow (day 5) will be the first day I have to get up early so we shall see how I fare tomorrow evening. Made a delicious Thai green chicken curry for dinner with lots of veg and sweet potato to soak up the coconut cream.

Day 3 here and I'm feeling it, I am craving junk food like you wouldn't believe, I'm not hungry but I want to eat, I want salty food and sweet food all at the same time. I think I'm going to cook some sweet potato for lunch to have with my left over lamb cutlets. I also had vivid dreams last night which I don't normally have and have had a lot of cramps in my legs I think it's from the caffeine withdrawal.

It is just something that I drink too much of and need to start my day, then I end up drinking coffee all day. So I've switched my coffee for a black decaf with breakfast and no more coffee after that.

Hi everyone, I'm Stacey from Canberra, Australia. I'm starting my whole 30 today, this will be my 3rd or maybe 4th. I have to get my diet back on track as its all over the place, I have a massive sugar demon that needs slaying and have been too lazy to prepare food. I've also given up coffee which may actually kill me.

once not that long ago in history babies were fed until they self weaned (usually around 4) and if one woman lost her milk or was unable to produce the baby would nurse from another mother from the tribe, in fact cross nursing was actually common place, infants do have different nutritional needs than adults and they are able to absorb more nutrients from milk than they can from food at a young age

another thing I've noticed since the whole 30 is that I've added salt to a lot of things, so I'm adding more salt than I normally would but I think I'm actually eating less salt as I'm not eating it hidden in things (or eating a bag of chips). I was up way too late last night and I feel alright, actually I feel pretty normal, despite not having enough sleep. Last night is also the first night I have slept through when I have to be up in the morning, I can't remember the last time that has happened.

Day 16 completed here too. Energy levels seem a little up and I think I'm waking a bit easier but its hard to tell when you have to get up in the dark.
Absolutely in love with oven roasted broccoli, had a huge tray of it and cauli with sweet potato for dinner, there was no room on the plate for my steak, anyway strangely I ate all the veg and didn't finish the steak.
Been drinking more and more fruity tea's, again I've never liked them before I bought a delicious strawberry and apple with hibiscus and rosehips from the local market OMG I could drink it all day which is good as I am struggling to drink water when its so cold outside.

I think it's important to better understand YOUR setbacks, what happens? what leads up to not following through?  Also, there's no such thing as a failure per se, it take some guts to acknowledge, get up and get back on the horse.  This is the long haul, failure can only happen on your deathbed ;-)  Look deep and admit what's making you make the choices youre making.

I am not saying this is you but more "failure" is brought on/ created for the purpose of easing a real, non-controlled let down.  The unknown and the action  of really trying and having it not work out is the scariest thing in the world.  it's why people never get off the couch, of have some shitty job, or shitty relationship...  Imagine TRYING to have the great things with the possibility of it's not working out after you poured your heart into it?  Scary.  Painful.  But if you're not in the game, you're out of the game and what good is that.

Self examine, put yourself uncomfortably out there.... also, less thinking about it, live it by the moment, "right now, i am taking care of myself nutrionally", tomorrow doesn't matter, an hour from now doesnt matter, living right now I am doing the right thing.  When something rears its ugly head, ask why?  ask if giving in now, if eating that donut which will give you some pleasure for a minute or two is really worth it in the long run?

I have come to the conclusion that this whole 30 might have to become a whole 365. I had breast cancer 2 years ago which led me down the paleo path and then last year I started getting painful lumps in my breasts (sorry TMI) which were just benign cysts, since I've been on the whole 30, they have gone, they aren't up being all painful and making me worry they are cancer.
I was actually hoping I could decrease the pain with this whole 30 and I am hoping that the pain doesn't come back (its hormonal) so I'm pretty happy, but a bit sad that this is it for me.

Day 4, no where near as flat as I was yesterday. I am allowing myself a small piece of fruit after dinner, I'll tackle that in my next whole 30, this one I've given up snacking on nuts, last time I ate heaps and I guess I eat a lot of them. I am hoping at some point I'll not want the fruit but for now I'm cool with it. I'm slowly moving my kids over to paleo, last night I made them choc banana icecream (frozen banana's, cocoa, stevia) and it looked so yummy it was hard not to eat some, but I didn't. I'm happy to make the kids swypo treats because they are kids and aren't really choosing to change their diet but it is a test of willpower lol.

Give him an antipasto platter with plenty of blanched veggies and homemade mayo or guacamole (or baba ganoush) as a dip. I love cooked chicken, sweet potato and raw veg with any of these as a dip.

I don't have an unhealthy relationship with my scales, they sit on my bathroom floor and I got on them today because I forgot to get on them before the whole 30 started and I don't remember how many months ago I last got on them.
Since I have been eating paleo my weight has fluctuated around 58-60 kilo mark, I work as a food coach (SAD) and its hard when I want to tell everyone to eat paleo, but it has helped me see how useless the scales really are and how women (I don't work with men) get so attached to them, I wear the same clothes comfortably and fit clothes I wore 10+ years ago so I don't feel I need to know what the scale has to say.
I am also not on this journey for weight loss, I never have been, its been about health and strength. Having goals that aren't about what the scale has to say has totally kicked the scale addiction (I was a 3 times a day addict a few years ago) and resulted in more weight loss than I had when I was actively trying.
