    Hey, @rusrach and Vanessa_ how's it going w/reintro? I'm on DAY 42! and still seeing new NSVs! Amazing. I guess some folks do benefit from staying on longer. I'm seeing my new holistic functional medicine doc tomorrow, so things will probably start to shift. I can't believe I'm still eating fish twice a day and only just getting sick of it, but not even that much. Cheers! I actually miss you guys, so let me know how you're doing. Marj

    Thanks, honey. @rusrach. I really appreciate that. It's disappointing, but I'm trying to remind myself it's not a failure at all. I think my body's starting to come back to normal. Who knows.

Unfortunately, I am not able to reintroduce, as I am having all kinds of Gi problems (and some fatigue). Day 34. It's almost as if I'm going backwards or maybe my body does not like the restrictions (or this much fish). It's upsetting, but I'm being patient. I found an amazing NP who does functional medicine. I'm seeing her Tues, but we just had a Zoom consult. I feel better already know I will have support. She's awesome.

I was actually feeling the higher energy and am pretty wiped today and yesterday, but I'm hoping that is also peri and the big weekend I had.     Congrats, @rusrach!! Are you feeling the Tiger Blood yet? If I get what they're saying, I think it's just more energy and more sustained energy throughout the day, yes? Maybe that, coupled with confidence. I am on day 32 and still constipated. Ugh. I guess I'll go to a doctor. Not sure what's up. I even got a few pimples and all I can think is my body is still detoxing and/or I'm PMSing. Hmm... I'm off nightshades for 2 days now (back on eggs and most fodmaps). Later, ladies!

    Thanks, Vanessa and hi Rachel! You guyzzzzz! DAY 30! I feel so clear, energized and focused. This is the coolest weekend, because not only is it day 30, but it is my 30 year HS reunion tonight!! AND I'm in the middle of a weekend meditation retreat that started last night. So I meditate all day and then go to the reunion All that said, I am sticking with this longer, b/c I still have a lot of bloating and possible IBS stuff, so I'll try to work with a doc. I've been off eggs for 3 days, but I don't think that makes a diff. The latest idea is to go off Nightshades, since my intuition has always told me something was up with those (acid reflux, joint pain, bloating, etc.) We will see. I'm not jumping into it immediately without more thought, cuz we see how that went with FODMAPS, but it's a tinier list that is so much easier and feels right. I also want to finish the red peppers and tomatoes in my fridge How are you guys doing!? Probably back on Monday. BIG HUGS!!! M

    Thanks, @SugarcubeOD! I figured. I have seen many doctors and had tests...I'll go to a func med doc, which is something I've wanted to do for years. Much appreciated. I'm going to stay on W30 for at least 15 more days while I start to figure this out.

    constipation

    I'm now on Day 28! It's been weeks since I posted above. I was having normal BMs again for the whole middle of my W30 and then tried dropping nuts and then FODMAPS and got constipated again (4-5 days ago). Any ideas? - I stopped restricting ALL fodmaps because it was stressful, but am still light and NO onions and garlic for at least 5 days. - I drink at least 86 oz a day (~172 lbs). No bubbles for 4 days. - I have been taking magnesium at night for at least 4-5 nights. - I have been having prunes and even took senacot a few nights, which slightly helped, but not entirely. - I have been off nuts for at least 6 days (minus an emergency Rx bar w/ a few almonds 2 days ago). Many articles suggest nuts (and seeds) help alleviate constipation. Hmm. - I eat TONS of all COOKED veg (but had stopped the cruciferous ones, as those were FODMAPS). On another chain, I saw that those can actually help. I eat plenty of healthy fats (ghee, olive oil, coco oil and sometimes avo and coconut). The only raw veg I have is soft greens (watercress or mixed greens that are broken down in acid/EVOO). - I never eat bananas, but occasionally green plantains. I had stopped fruits that supposedly help constipation b/c they were fodmaps (apples, pears), but still eat strawberries and blueberries and could add those back. - I am now off eggs for 3-4 days to see what happens. - I will go off caffeine (tea), as that is the ONLY thing I can imagine is stopping me up. - When I went off FODMAPS 5 days ago, I eliminated sweet potatoes, which I had been having daily and I hear can help. Interestingly, I still get a bit of acid reflux and gas, which is bizarre to me given how little I'm eating that could cause that. Yes, I could try dropping Nightshades, but I'm not sure I can take it (so much change). Yesterday: - 3 eggs with chives, sauteed spinach/mixed greens. 1/2 wh pot w/ghee. Jasmin tea. - Tuna with compliant mayo, watercress salad w/blood orange slices, a little avo, olive oil and apple cv. - 3 prunes and 2-3 apricots with plain vanilla ghee. Yes, it was mostly for emotional reasons (and prunes, ya know). - can of smoked trout, steamed/sauteed green beans w/EVOO, 2-3 pickles, cantelope w/ghee. My main concern is that I don't want to start reintro while constipated (and bloated), but I'm nervous about extending too long past the 30 days. Thanks, everyone!     Morning, all! I was thinking about you guys yesterday since we all got a bit quiet. Congrats on Day 26, @rusrach! I'm on DAY 28! @Vanessa what are you at again? Starting today I am doing NO eggs for 3-4 days to see how my body is. Because of that, I decided to try this fun new recipe...potato toast with avo mash and smoked salmon + greens. See below! OMG So amazeballs! I'm still constipated/bloated and I don't want to reintro until I clear that up. I hope I can start reentry within 4-5 days. I'm a bit nervous about extending too far and losing my nerve/cool. I think I can. Wish me luck!

    Day 24- bloated and comstipated

    Hi, @MichellePollino. I'm so sorry you're having a tough time right now. Many folks struggle at day 15, as well as the very last week, so try to be gentle with yourself and also be mindful about comparing yourself to others. I know it's tough, especially if you're doing it with coworkers. Oy. The Day by Day book is helpful--I bought it half way through and it's been comforting. She talks about comparisons and also expectations, both of which you mention. Your intention of listening to your body is so great! What is it telling you right now? I'm not a moderator, but I'll pass on what I've heard over and over by this stage (I'm on day 26). With today's example, if eggs are your only protein for any meal, you need "as many as you can hold in your hand" which is usually 3-4. I was shocked too, but I upped my eggs and it helped my energy a lot. Also, you want to make sure you have a little fat. Not sure if you had enough in your meals above, accept maybe at lunch. With dinner and maybe lunch, you may need more carbs/starch. I didn't realize how important the meal template proportions were until a few wks ago. I've felt much more balanced, energy wise, when using those. I don't have the answers on bloating/constipation, since clearly I'm still dealing with that, as above. Read those tips, because they're good overviews on bloating/IBS. Coffee can be dehydrating, but also a laxative...so, hmm...

    Hey, Rachel @rusrach Thanks for asking! I was struggling and today at a salad bar, I suddenly wanted to kill ALL the things! LOL. Which I had really not hit until today. So...I decided this FODMAP thing was not working. BUT I'll stay off onion & garlic and maybe go easy on cruciferous veg. We'll see...The stress was not worth it and making me hate food, want to rebel and make me upset, so I'm proud of myself for ditching/adjusting that plan. Yay! ALSO!! Melissa wrote me directly about my FODMAP question!! I was so honored. I wrote her back with more questions, but that was before I changed my mind...Ahhh. Lots of work today. Back to work. BUT how are you?!?!?!

    Day 24- bloated and comstipated

    Thanks, @ShannonM816! My bloating has been here for years. It's not new with W30, so those symptoms haven't gotten worse or changed on this. I've always been a huge coconut fan, but was just having a lot more whole fat C.milk and some raw coconut chips on this. I've been mainly eating cooked veg...figured that one out a while ago. The only big change is that I'm eating MORE vegetables (and protein), more regularly and at every meal with some starches and fat (meal template). But I've been moderate/light with nuts/seeds, dried fruit and fruit for at least a week now. Dropped nuts/seeds, dried fruit, seltzer a few days ago and off FODMAPS for 2 days. I was so excited to hit day 30 of W30, but I think I may need to extend. It's for a higher purpose, so...wish me luck Happy mom's day for whatever kind of mom you might be Marj

    Day 24- bloated and comstipated

    Hi, ShannonM816! Joining this thread to ask more about my big bloating issue that I've mentioned elsewhere. I don't even know if I can call it bloating...it's here all the time. It doesn't go up and down as far as I can tell. It's just distended, like I look preggers. My main intentions for W30 were to address fatigue and bloating and the fatigue is pretty much gone! It's even energy throughout the day. It's awesome. There are a lot of NSVs. But back to the bloating...I want to be clear that I had pretty much exhausted all medical things, so I'm really dedicated to this. There's a list of items you guys have mentioned eliminating in different places on this forum... FODMAPs Nightshades Eggs (I eat a lot of them) Coconut (I've been eating a lot on W30) Nuts (was eating a lot until 3 days ago) Raw veggies Cold water/selzer. Brassica vegetables, which says kale and bok choi are in the cabbage/brocc/caul family, even though they are in the green FODMAP column. Ugh. Other? I'm noticing a lot of stress around this, which isn't what we're going for. Things felt very workable/doing and light on W30 and this feels restrictive...but I might be able to handle it if it's only for a week. I guess my big question is do you recommend going off ALL of these? and, if so, for how long? I know I sound like I'm looking for some kind of magic answer or guarantee, but I just don't want to waste this opportunity to do the most I can do for my body. I'm on day 24, which is why I'm tacking this here. Thank you!! Marj
