I am wondering of these lovely people.....has being W30/Paleo truly put a strain on your marriage? I don't know if it possible for a long term plan for me when my husband is not on board and "can't wait for my 30 days to be over". Sorry if this is too personal, just curious how this can all play out in the long term. Thanks.

I think the point is that it cant be your ONLY focus. Also, you cant expect to reverse 7-8 years in 30 days but its a start.

There was a great recipe on here of a sweet potato crusted quiche. I made it this week and it was very good. It takes some prep prior but I got 4-5 M1's out of it. Here goes...
    2med sweet potatoes shredded
    1package chopped mushrooms
1package frozen spinach, thawed and dried well
    1onion sliced
    1dozen eggs
    2T coconut milk
    S&P to taste
    Coconut oil
    1c broth
Sautéed onions and mushrooms in coconut oil until browned and start to soften, add broth and simmer until tender and pan is dry. Set aside. Fry sweet potatoes until browned and crisp in coconut oil, pat into baking dish like a crust. Beat eggs, coconut milk and add seasoning, onions, mushrooms and dried spinach. Pour over crust. Bake 400 for 20-25 min until eggs are set. Allow to cool, slice into individual servings and refrigerate. Grab your container on the way out the door, microwave for about 90 sec. Everything you need in one meal...protein, veggies and fat!

Well said. It's a constant struggle. I have started many whole30'sbut only ever finished one. Have gained 20lbs back in 4 months, after losing 50....it's awful and extremely depressing. I guess at this point ( I just restarted Monday after an Oreo shake binge:(...) I think the more healthy days the better. Life is ups and downs and my eating follows along too. My major goal now is not letting one bad choice lead to days or months of poor choices. I do want another 30 days in a row and am trying to get there but I'm tired of beating myself up, it doesn't make me feel good and I want to feel good. Sorry I don't have an answer but can defiantly relate. Best of luck you.

This post put me to tears. I couldn't pinpoint what my problem was but now I am understanding. I've been struggling since the completion of my first W30 about a year ago. Cycling through major binge eating and W30's (attempted and a few completed). I feel so out of control and so depressed about it. I've gained a good amount of weight but I refuse to look at that number right now. I live in yoga pants because that's all that fits me. It feels like instead of quieting my cravings, they slowly build over the 30 days....my sugar dragon fuels on starvation and gains power while it sleeps. I'm putting W30 aside for awhile and going to focus on sleep, exercise, and counseling. You are definately not alone, thank you.

I know the deli meat is processed but it was a gateway for us. I found some without gluten or sulfites but did contain sugar. Also, Applegate pork/beef hotdogs are W30 compliant and are minimally processed (the pork/beef combo ones are more tender than the all beef ones). Look through the forum here too, there are lots of threads about feeding children and picky eaters. Seems I had to try things sooooo many times just so the food didn't "look" new until he would taste it. I always think about the definition of insanity....trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results! But with kids, it will eventually happen (mom just might go insane first).

I think the exposure only works one on one, when that person pursues answers to what your doing to feel great, not in a group setting.

I'm even more surprised that your reason for this is pinpointing a health concern and not weight loss. I find if I explain how "sick and awful" I've been feeling for years and am trying to get to the bottom of things then people are okay, but if I even touch the idea of losing weight then it's a crazy fad. I don't even tell anyone when im on W30 anymore, I lie and say I'm not feeling good or have diarrhea or something so I don't want to eat rich foods, drink, alcohol, etc. What a pain, so awesome that you didn't give in!

Your coaches should be setting you up with modified movements. For example, you proably can't do a pull-up but you can substitute with ring rows. Don't be discouraged by these modifications, they are the building blocks for gaining strength to perform more advanced movements. Be patient and allow yourself a learning curve. Do skip post w/o protein and lots of water. I am also a cf beginner. Started a few months ago and I still need modifications but, I can see my strength improving. Best of luck to you!

Eat more veggies, especially carb dense veggies. I would add a whole sweet potato daily (or other squash), especially during your period. That would be a good addition to your M1 that is currently lacking in veggies. Hope you feel better soon.
