Just wanted to report here that I finished my Whole60 and I'm so proud of myself for doing a hard thing. My clothes are fitting better, went down a pants size, I have more energy for Saturday morning hiking, skin and hair on fleek, and gained a whole new set of eating habits. This has been so good for me. I weighed myself after the Whole60 was complete and I went down 23 pounds from June 2nd. This is the most I've ever lost before! I still have a long way to go, but Whole30 has taught me how to make progress towards my goal. I'm starting a month of reintroductions now, so I will still be eating Whole30 almost full-time. Thanks to everyone in this thread for the support over the past two months!

I have been eating things that I used to eat, then I feel bad and try to go back to eating better again.  I'm totally off the 3 meals a day too.  I have been eating smaller meals and then snacking.  I know I need to get back to taking care of myself.  It takes time and effort to eat healthy food, and it's difficult sometimes to give to yourself.  It's a struggle, isn't it?

I have been cleaning out things in rounds in my kitchen (I thought I got it all the first time!).  I realize there will be some noncompliant items that will remain in my spices and condiments, but to avoid confusion I took today and marked them all with blue painter's tape and wrote "not compliant" on them.  Visually I can see what not to touch!  It also was an eye opener on items I would have deemed a "health" food.

I was reading some other comments about the meal template and the goal of going 4-5 hours between meals. I am struggling with this a bit. I TRIED to eat 3 eggs for breakfast, and inevitably, there's a moment in my meal where I feel that pang of, "I'm done" and every bite after that is nausea-inducing. But then I'm hungry again about 3 hours later. I guess it's just hard for me to fit in all the nutrients I need to last me 4-5 hours. I'm doing ok, but it is still a bit of a challenge. Also, I'm starving by 5 pm so I eat an early dinner and then I'm starving again before bed, and I've been really trying to not eat again after dinner, but it's uncomfortable. Any advice?
Girls' Whole30 brunch tomorrow morning, and I'm going to try my hand at Hollandaise sauce over scrambled eggs, sweet potatoes, and brussels sprouts. Sides of spinach salad with marinaded onions and green olives with a berry medley to round out the meal.

There are a bunch of whole30 versions of eggs Benedict around, maybe something like that? Because who wouldn't be impressed wit hollandaise sauce.
For your kitchen burnout, remember that it's fine to keep things simple. Burger patty with a dollop of mayo and mustard, roasted vegetables, maybe some sauerkraut. Or make a roast in the crockpot, bake some potatoes or sweet potatoes. Stuff potatoes with roast, serve with salad. Use leftover roast in a salad or lettuce wraps the next day. Buy pre-chopped vegetables if that helps.

I'm now 2/3 of the way done with my Whole60! I'm starting to experience kitchen burnout...the recipe research, grocery shopping, kitchen work, meal prepping...I'm not as gung-ho as I was during the first 30 days. But I'm managing. I decided to put some zest in my kitchen life by inviting 4 friends over this Sunday for a Whole30-themed brunch. It will be my way of showing them how delicious Whole30 eating can be. Anyone have any great breakfast/brunch recipes to share?

That pineapple salad looks really good!  I think I'll make it next week.  I kind of went crazy on the fruit last weekend because I was working outside, it was 114 and humid here in Phoenix.  I'm trying to lay off for a couple of days before I start up again.
I have reintroduced most foods, but I feel like I want to go back to eating in a more Whole30 way.  Without having to worry about trace amounts of sugar, that is.  Just having the break has made me realize how very much sugar I was eating.  I have to ramp up my vegetable usage again though.  I made a spinach and zucchini frittata last night to bring to work for breakfast and baked a sweet potato for my lunch.   I think I'll try to buy precut vegetables and see if that helps me eat more.
Did anyone else have issues with beans?  I used to eat legumes at least 3-4 times a week, and when I tried black beans, my stomach went crazy.  I'm going to introduce another kind, maybe soak them for 24 hours before pressure cooking them in the Instant Pot.  If anyone has tips for me, please share.

@MamaPajama you're not a dumb adult. And you just finished Whole30, which is a huge accomplishment. It sounds like you know what habits you could be improving on. Take the Whole30 habits you developed and apply it to today, even if that means 3 "less healthy" meals a day, but fill your plate with still generally good for you foods. As you continue in Food Freedom, you will still see some pounds melt off!
If anyone wants to keep checking in, I'm still going to Whole60 so could use some motivation. Feel free to jump back on the bandwagon.

@MamaPajama 30 lbs is awesome! And - YES- to not slipping back into the old regardless of moving forward with W30 or not. Love, love!!
@Crimsann I flipping love your instagram photo- to feel so free and embrace your inner warrior/ goddess/ spirit...and see it embodied in the physical body you have been blessed with...just inspiring! Thank you for sharing. You are an inspiration!
@AmandaRG Yesterday was the WORST. I had no self-control after sticking to Whole30 all of June, I ate. It. ALL. Back to Whole30 compliant foods today because I also felt so bloated and sick to my stomach. I think, for me, it was a necessary step to realizing that I prefer the structure of 'yes' or 'no' foods, not just size portion limits. Hope you are able to learn from it, too.

That's a great post @Crimsann! I wish I could be more comfortable in my body. I lost 8 pounds on my whole 30 and all I can think about is how I need to lose about 50 more.
You guys... I have been the worst in this reintro period. I did sooooo well on the plan and just took a giant leap into the deep end after it was over. First on Sunday I tried some cheese. My Mom made a cauliflower crust cheese pizza and I felt TERRIBLE. So I thought ok... dairy is out. Then I had all intentions of waiting the three days, but the 4th of July party happened and I ate all the gluten. I had chik-fil-a nuggets (who knew they offered a party platter), mac and cheese, and chocolate chip cookies. Oh and a brownie. I went craaaaaazy. Then felt terrible. I still feel terrible today. I had a stomach ache, reflux, bloating... the whole nine yards. I feel like I just want to do another whole 30 just to make my stomach feel better. I know they say you don't need to eat whole 30 forever, but what if you do? I don't know if I have any self control without the rules. Hope you all are doing better!

I have a lot of non-scale victories (all listed on my final blog post for this week), but what's really bringing it home for me is that I lost 30 pounds!  kind of amazing, really, but I'm still really fat, so...I'm just going to keep at it a bit longer.  I did reintroduce legumes, but that's it so far, and I'm in no hurry to reintroduce dairy, sugar, or gluten containing grains.  keep in touch, peeps, I'm going to be posting on this thread, and possibly others, in order to keep myself involved and on track.  I'm not going to do another round just yet, because it really was a strain on my finances, but I'm also not going to go back to the 'bread and cheese' cycle I was on, so...stay tuned!

Congrats everyone who made it to the finish line! What an accomplishment!!
Many non-scale victories, but so excited that I lost 10 lbs too. NSV today- it's my bday so work got a PB Fudge cake and I had a little sliver...but did not even eat it all...and don't really want it! Previously, I would have eaten a huge piece at 10am then had another at 3pm! Gack... So proud of myself for knowing when enough was enough!!
Looking forward to seeing others post!

Today is my day 31 of Whole60, so I'm treating today like I'm back at day 1. I did weigh myself to capstone my Whole30 and I was pleased with the 12 pounds I lost. I have a long ways to go, but I am making progress. My favorite NSVs are clear skin, no headaches or neck/back tension, faded stretch marks, clothes fitting looser, no more sugar cravings, peppier mood. I didn't take measurements before or after, but I can tell there is a loss. I'm more motivated than ever to keep going. Summer is an amazing time to do Whole30.
My most consistent cravings during Whole30 were buttered toast and popcorn. I was surprised at how much I thought about those foods. I never craved sugar, just the buttery carbs! But, there's no point on dwelling on these cravings, because it will be at least another 30 days before I reintroduce.

Well, we made it, folks!  I am so pumped about the benefits:  mostly the NSVs, but I lost 14 lbs as well.    The last week was the hardest for me, mainly because my husband and I were on vacation in a town we visit frequently.  As I walked down Main Street and saw all the cool restaurants and bars that I'm WAY TOO familiar with, my mouth started watering for those glasses of wine, mixed drinks, appetizers, ice cream, etc., etc., etc.  However, I stuck to my guns and remained compliant.  The other really difficult day on our vacation was the post 13.5-mile hike cravings.  As we were dragging our weary bodies back to the truck, images of Italian cream cake, pizza, cold cereal and milk, grilled cheese sandwiches...were all dancing in my head. LOL.  I've got my 14 day reintroduction schedule planned (yes, I am starting with that glass--or two--of wine today), and I will be checking this feed to see how others are doing as well.  Congratulations all!!

congratulations, everyone!  thanks for the support, and the recipes, I really appreciate it.  as much as I want to weigh myself, I don't own a scale, so I have to wait until Monday and pop into my doc's office.  that way, I'll have my starting weight (from my last visit) and my ending weight done on the same scale, and I can ask them if they'll consider redoing my bloodwork, so we can see if I managed to affect any other changes, as well.    hope to see you around on the other forums, or here, or somewhere else - I am so happy we've been here for each other!

Although the day is not over yet, I did my last June workout and had the satisfaction of watching that third ring close for the last time this month making the thirty day streak perfect.  I then came upstairs and found my neighbors setting off fireworks.
No doubt in celebration for me?!?
(or, oh wait, I guess there is that one certain holiday coming up...still made me giggle!)
Hurrah to all of you...picture me tossing confetti in your general directions!

I'm proud of everyone who hit 30 days today. I'd love to hear more about your final thoughts, day 31 reflections, reintro experiences, etc. I'll add mine as well. I ran into a friend today who's done Whole30 twice, and her advice was to take reintro slow, like focus on one food group for a week at a time. And with sugar start very slow, like with honey, etc. I think I'll try to take her advice on that!

I agree @Crimsann it has been really helpful to have us all go through the month together on this forum. I hope you all got out of it what you hoped! I definitely have less sugar cravings, but fear 30 days has not been long enough to tame my sugar dragon. I’m going to try and eek out a few more weeks of being sugar free and see how it goes from there. Definitely like @crimsann said, I hope we can all keep checking in over the next month or so to know how everyone is doing!

@AmandaRG  ooh thanks for the recipe tip, I’ve seen a couple Chow Mein recipes and always sort of hesitated because I don’t always like the “real versions”.  At the same time I have always suspected that I would like a more all natural one.  And this is a perfect time to start stretching my meal plan beyond mostly tried and true faves.
Ive been thinking about found some Salisbury Steak Meatballs and Mashed Potato (mashed with coconut milk) for lunches next week but I’ve been flailing around about dinners and that might be just the inspo I needed.  Especially since I can cram that full of veggies while my lunch is more protein/fat dense.
On our last day I just want to say this has been such a steady group and I’ve really enjoyed doing this with you.  I’m going to miss reading up on all of you so for those not going into July, drop in and say hi and I hope you get the most out of your reintroduction time.
For those of you facing/looking forward to a Day 31 weigh in, I have one last trick to pass on that’s always helped me do a real check on progress without letting one single number make or break me.  I always set out to check in on myself by planning to deliberately weigh myself about four times spread over two days.  Then I go with the average.  I’ve always found it fascinating to see how much it does swing from morning to night or day to day and the first time I did this it helped more than anything to break the hold that number had on me.
Or, of course, after all the work this month feel free to go with the lowest number too, lol!
Personally I had found I always seem to weigh the least on Monday morning and it’s left me nearly convinced that two days away from work lightens me in some real non-food related way.  Does stress actually add pounds?!  Maybe so.

just four more meals!  who's still in from the 1st?  who made it the whole 30 days?  let's have a check in tomorrow!  (and when was exercise night, I missed it?)
