@MamaPajama 30 lbs is awesome! And - YES- to not slipping back into the old regardless of moving forward with W30 or not. Love, love!!
@Crimsann I flipping love your instagram photo- to feel so free and embrace your inner warrior/ goddess/ spirit...and see it embodied in the physical body you have been blessed with...just inspiring! Thank you for sharing. You are an inspiration!
@AmandaRG Yesterday was the WORST. I had no self-control after sticking to Whole30 all of June, I ate. It. ALL. Back to Whole30 compliant foods today because I also felt so bloated and sick to my stomach. I think, for me, it was a necessary step to realizing that I prefer the structure of 'yes' or 'no' foods, not just size portion limits. Hope you are able to learn from it, too.

That's a great post @Crimsann! I wish I could be more comfortable in my body. I lost 8 pounds on my whole 30 and all I can think about is how I need to lose about 50 more.
You guys... I have been the worst in this reintro period. I did sooooo well on the plan and just took a giant leap into the deep end after it was over. First on Sunday I tried some cheese. My Mom made a cauliflower crust cheese pizza and I felt TERRIBLE. So I thought ok... dairy is out. Then I had all intentions of waiting the three days, but the 4th of July party happened and I ate all the gluten. I had chik-fil-a nuggets (who knew they offered a party platter), mac and cheese, and chocolate chip cookies. Oh and a brownie. I went craaaaaazy. Then felt terrible. I still feel terrible today. I had a stomach ache, reflux, bloating... the whole nine yards. I feel like I just want to do another whole 30 just to make my stomach feel better. I know they say you don't need to eat whole 30 forever, but what if you do? I don't know if I have any self control without the rules. Hope you all are doing better!

I agree @Crimsann it has been really helpful to have us all go through the month together on this forum. I hope you all got out of it what you hoped! I definitely have less sugar cravings, but fear 30 days has not been long enough to tame my sugar dragon. I’m going to try and eek out a few more weeks of being sugar free and see how it goes from there. Definitely like @crimsann said, I hope we can all keep checking in over the next month or so to know how everyone is doing!

@AmandaRG  ooh thanks for the recipe tip, I’ve seen a couple Chow Mein recipes and always sort of hesitated because I don’t always like the “real versions”.  At the same time I have always suspected that I would like a more all natural one.  And this is a perfect time to start stretching my meal plan beyond mostly tried and true faves.
Ive been thinking about found some Salisbury Steak Meatballs and Mashed Potato (mashed with coconut milk) for lunches next week but I’ve been flailing around about dinners and that might be just the inspo I needed.  Especially since I can cram that full of veggies while my lunch is more protein/fat dense.
On our last day I just want to say this has been such a steady group and I’ve really enjoyed doing this with you.  I’m going to miss reading up on all of you so for those not going into July, drop in and say hi and I hope you get the most out of your reintroduction time.
For those of you facing/looking forward to a Day 31 weigh in, I have one last trick to pass on that’s always helped me do a real check on progress without letting one single number make or break me.  I always set out to check in on myself by planning to deliberately weigh myself about four times spread over two days.  Then I go with the average.  I’ve always found it fascinating to see how much it does swing from morning to night or day to day and the first time I did this it helped more than anything to break the hold that number had on me.
Or, of course, after all the work this month feel free to go with the lowest number too, lol!
Personally I had found I always seem to weigh the least on Monday morning and it’s left me nearly convinced that two days away from work lightens me in some real non-food related way.  Does stress actually add pounds?!  Maybe so.

Welcome! I’m on day 24 and if I can do it, then you can too! I was eating McDonalds multiple times a week and had at least a few servings of a sugary treat every day. Be patient with yourself and do lots of preparation so you aren’t stuck without food when you are hungry! I also found drinking water helped if I am having a sugar craving...someone suggested eating a few cashews or something the opposite of sugar for cravings too but I haven’t had one in a few days. Good luck to you!

Can you believe tomorrow is our last day?! I can't... I wasn't sure I was going to make it for a few days there around 18-20... all I could daydream about was pie, cake, cookies, ice cream... not I'm like meh. I wanted to share an amazing recipe with you guys... last night I made Nom Nom Paleo's Chicken Chow Main (without the mushrooms cause I hate mushrooms) and sugar snap peas instead of spinach. It was honestly one of the best recipes I've ever made. I swear it tasted like it had honey in it or something... Here's a link in case you want to try:

@magsrose I love the idea of an exercise night!
@AmandaRG I completely agree about re-introductions! I am almost hesitant to add anything back in. We do have raw goat's milk, so I thought about using that in my morning green machine smoothie instead of coconuts milk to start. Nom Nom ice cream sounds wonderful, though!
Weekend went well- I feel like I have gotten through the feelings of neglect when sitting at a cookout where everyone is eating sugar and carbs! That is huge for me- I never thought I would have that willpower. Same for random snacking- I never thought I could pass through the kitchen and not grab a handful of 'something' processed or sweet.
My clothes are looser, and I am dying to step on the scale. Why does that number mean so much to me, though? Shouldn't it be enough to know that inflammation is down, and I can see definition where it wasn't before?
Have a good day all- I am so glad I found this thread and can be a part of your journey and you mine!

Happy day 25! I think I felt the tiger blood yesterday... that or I had a manic episode  I got so much sewing and yardwork done... I felt like I was in the zone. Problem was then when I went to sleep, I woke up at 3am still in the zone. So I was awake for quite a while until I finally fell back asleep.
I feel like I could do this forever and I'm not sure how I'm going to reintroduce. I was thinking I might just start out with Nom Nom's strawberry/banana/coconut milk ice cream. It's a paleo-fied dessert, but I have been really wishing for something cold in this NC heat. Other than that I kind of want to stay the course for now. What are you guys' plans for day 31?

You guys...I think today has been the hardest day. I left work early to run errands and get my hair done. I had to pass my favorite cupcake shop and I swear everyone around me was talking about bread... I managed to hang on in no small part due to the bag of berries I brought. I realize that you’re not suppose to use fruit for a sugar craving but I was like a crazed lunatic looking for my next high. Anyone have any good recommendations for better ways to handle that?

@Crimsann - I hear you about not getting the burgers right.  I messed up the hard-boiled eggs twice in a row, and it was really disappointing, because I was cooking up several, and was sorry to have wasted the food.  also, both times I made burgers I had them with roasted potatoes, and also made sweet potato 'buns' by slicing from the biggest part of the veggie, and pan-frying them in coconut oil until soft on the inside and crispy on the inside.  Some people suggest baking them, and I think I'll try that next time.
@Plantas - I love the pepper and lettuce as a bun idea!

hey how's everyone doing?  one week left!  it felt like forever, but I can see the finish line!  I had a lot of company last week, and I navigated cookies and punch at the teen's graduation, he and Grandma's take-out dinners and desserts from the local bistro, potluck picnic dishes and desserts, and the non-compliant leftovers in my refrigerator!  I didn't have much of a plan, but I faked it well, and now we're coming into the home stretch - I'm really feeling like I'm starting to get it, and it's pretty simple.  so at the end of the 30 days, I'm going to do the re-introductions, and then see how I feel about continuing forward as best I can.  I seriously wouldn't have made it through without two generous gifts of groceries, one from a kind commenter on this forum, and one from my mom, and I want to acknowledge their contribution to helping me succeed.
I wonder what I should reintroduce first?

Well I’m feeling that tired after supper tonight myself but I’m mostly blaming the rain.  And even now it’s more of an easing into tired rather than fighting to stay awake.  I mentioned before that this round has seen me going to bed much earlier than usual and I’m trying not to push through that too much because I know good sleep is part of the process and something I deprive myself of too much.
With all the extra cooking and washing up and packing lunches though an early night cuts into “me” time and I have to remind myself that taking care of me is part of me time even if it’s less fun than a video game.  LOL!
But I’ll also admit that I’m writing this while waiting on the latest patch to download so I’m no angel and totally planning to “rot my brain” for a bit...unless the power goes out here.

@amalloy Hello and welcome! Congrats on beginning this journey! I hope you love it as much as I did!
Here are my words of advice:
Understand the meal template. I'm surprised how many people undertake this journey not understanding the recommendation on how to structure your meals. If you aren't familiar with it, here it is: https://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-meal-planning.pdf.  Ground yourself in your reason for doing this and remind yourself of your goals if you're having a rough patch. In particular, focus on the goals you have beyond weight loss, because that isn't the focus of the program and is frankly not the best part of the program anyway.  Trust the process. Eating more fat to be healthy (and to lose weight) doesn't make any sense in today's world. But it has worked for thousands of people and it has worked for me! Stick to the rules and you'll experience some really great stuff!  Always, always, always read labels. Learn what ingredients are and are not allowed, and make a habit of reading your own labels and doing your own research (hopefully you already understand that the Nutrition Panel and Ingredient List are not the same thing - Whole30 only cares about the Ingredient List). Don't just trust that something is "Whole30 Approved" just because some random blogger says it is.  Check out Paleo Running Momma! She's my very favorite Whole30 food blogger and I love her recipes. My mostest favorite recipe is for her spinach artichoke twice baked potatoes. Here's a link to her blog: https://www.paleorunningmomma.com/. Her Whole30 section is reliable but still always check for yourself!  That was probably a lot! :-) I wish you the best though! Keep coming back here for any questions or support you need!

I know what you mean but I think I agree with what @Crimsann said. I definitely don’t have the post lunch crash and I’m happy that I donmt have to eat constantly to stay from being crabby. I too feel like for the most part during the day I have a steady flow of energy. I just wish it lasted all day. I tend to still get tired after supper time.

So I have a kind of weird thing with Tiger Blood.  I almost always get what I call Turtle Blood instead.  When I’m burning sugar I tend to run a mile a minute right up until I turn into a zombie.  When I switch to burning fat, I often feel like I sloooooow down.  And the feeling kind of creeped me out at first.  But what I realized is this is probably a normal pace.  And I keep it all day long.  I don’t ever hit the “hope I’m not drooling on my desk right now” after lunch phase.  I kind of laugh listening to everyone around me yawning.  And all things considered I probably get way more done, and done right the first time.  That’s my Tiger.  It’s a dang efficient task killing machine but it is not racing like a gazelle trying to outrun a cheetah.  I think some of us hear Tiger blood and expect even more crazy intense energy that a sugar rush would pale in comparison to but I’m not so sure that’s what it’s all about.  At least not for every one.  I do know without the lows, without the hangry times, without the manic highs where I feel like I could do a million things a minute but can’t even keep up with myself, without the guilt and artificial stress....I like the slightly slower moving me much better.

Happy halfway there day! I'm really hoping the tiger blood kicks in soon because I have felt so tired. I feel like I am definitely eating enough, but in the evenings I get so sleepy. Last night I made Well Fed's Classic Paleo Beef Stew in my instant pot. It came out great, but I left it out all night on accident. Hopefully it doesn't make me sick because I'm eating that anyway! I don't want it all to go to waste. Perhaps I have a strong stomach genetically... my grandmother use to leave chicken tenders out all night and eat them the next day all the time lol!
Totally into the idea of burger night, I really want to try that Elvis burger! Hope you guys have a good halfway day heading into the weekend!

Happy day 13! Almost halfway there. Yesterday I drove all day for work so I ate a little weird. All compliant, but definitely not in the template form. I think it's important to not stress about not having perfect meals every day for every meal. That's what I tell myself anyway
Hoping to feel the tiger blood soon... I feel like I have been tired like I was eating like crap. Part of it might be that my smoke alarm keeps chirping in the middle of the night until I reset it. Anyone know what to do about that?
Hope you all have a great Wednesday.

Hmmm, was just thinking...maybe we should have a burger “date” night.  Some night next week we all try an interesting combination of burger+toppings and post pictures and reviews on what we came up with.  Could make for some laughs and some shared inspiration.  Plus you will def want to stick around a few more days and be part of that.  If we did next Wednesday it would also be the kick-off to the final ten days count down.

Hang in the Mama PJ...I have this thing where I must nickname you PJ in my mind.  Probably just a Day 12 thing.  It may be a week for the most simple meals possible but I think you’ve got the gumption to find a way.  Sometimes the most variety my meals get during a hard week is whether the mushrooms go under the burger instead of over!
I’m headed upstairs from yoga which was a short session for me thanks to catching PMS from this group.  (My story, sticking to it.  I’m sure I would have skipped this month if I hadn’t been attuning with you, lol.)  Fingers crossed that Orange Chicken reheats half as good as it was last night and then I’m chilling for the evening.  I’m an Apple Watch addict so when I’ve hit all three rings by early evening it’s a cause for celebration and some down time!
