I think I figured it out - my energy reversed itself the afternoon of day 27 (that part I did not figure out), then i started having stomach pain all day on day 29 - as soon as I woke up I felt it - like my colon was inflamed.  the pain lasted all day.  I was mainly concerned with getting my energy back up at that time and checked the forum about that on day 29 and thought i needed to be eating a little sweet potato at each meal and it did get my energy back up.  then after day 30 but before i reintroduced anything, stomach pain came back worse.  so i checked forum on stomach pain and found a lot of posts of people having stomach pain.  I spent most of the rest of yesterday figuring out what I needed to do - my pharmacist did not know what a digestive enzyme was except for dairy intolerance (he did NOT understand that I didnt need that becuase i had not had dairy in over 30 days!) and did not have any digestive enzymes so that is not readily available for me to take, but i did start a probiotic yesterday and studied the fodmap.  Seems that since I cut out the sugar, grain, dairy, gluten I was depending on some high fodmap foods that I usually eat sparingly - sweet potatoes, cherries, bananas and it has caused me to have bad stomach pain if I eat anything high fodmap (or too much low fodmap which is the sweet potato).

As far as the others who have also had this problem, I googled whole30 stomach pain, and it gives you a list of people who have had this problem and most each one starts with https://forum.whole30.com > thewhole3program >troubleshooting your whole30.  they vary on topic names of like stomach pain, upper stomach pain, ongoing stomach pain.  There are a few that posted about it on their own blogs.  most everyone is glad to know that it is not just them this is happening to.  I guess we just dont think that it will be us that will have ibs symptoms from high fodmap, or from eating the same low fodmap too much or too many days in a row - but I am certain that that is what my problem is.

    Hi All,
Can't believe we are more than half way there. I am not feeling any "tiger blood" at all. I think it has to do with lack of sleep more than anything. I am still fighting cravings of sugar. Also, I live in Hawaii where a hurricane is heading our way. Hopefully, it will pass us by just leaving lots of rain.
My pants are not looser at all.  But it is "that time of the month" and my cycle has been off, of course it would happen now. I am feeling a little discouraged wondering if all this is worth it. Cooking and buying more stuff to cook is expensive. Hawaii food costs are high.
Anyhow, it is encouraging to hear that Candice is doing well! I really hope that by next week, I will be much more energetic and have looser pants!

Day 11!! Yay! Although today I am not feeling 100% well. My stomach has been bugging me and I am tired for some reason. Still no "tiger blood" but I am hoping that will come next week. No big plans this weekend (that I know of), so that is a plus for me. I made my own mayo which I am very proud of and used it as dressing.
I get the whole FOMO thing, but it's only 19 (18 really) more days. We got this!

Hey everyone! Finally feeling a little less exhausted today on Day 4. Cravings are in check but I’m used to sticking to a whole30 lifestyle during the week. It’s the weekend when I usually allow myself to have a drink or a treat meals. I also have events the next 3 Saturday’s which will definitely require meal prepping before I go. It’s so true about FOMO on the whole30 and not letting yourself feel resentful of being left out of the fun. I was definitely guilty of that in my first round. Often times, fun involves good food and drinking, and this round I’m trying to focus on other ways to have a good time. For example, more intimate, quality time with the hubby during the week  and purchasing some new clothes in sizes I haven’t been able to wear in the last 5 years after having two kids!

How's everyone holding up today?  We're on day 4   So far, I don't want to kill all the things as per the timeline, so that's very positive...I've been keeping very compliant but I am trying to be honest and note where I could cut back on a little fruit here, add some more protein there.  I've already tired of eggs, but I found a recipe for apple mash which might make a good breakfast.
The whole30 rounds I've done in the past my big thing is FOMO - fear of missing out - when we are with friends, at events, weekend cocktails, I don't want to miss on the fun things everyone else is enjoying (or "gets" to enjoy if I'm being bitter)  but I think I have a good mental outlook for this round.  Just gotta get it done and reset.  It was my choice to be blase nutrition-wise this summer and this round is my choice to get back in the game.
Hope everyone is having a GREAT day!!!
(I do miss my Diet Pepsi though - that's harder to give up than wine and cheese in my opinion)...

I’m craving chocolate too or anything with sugar!
Good for us for sticking to it. I’m just going to drink my Kombucha (Whole30 approved, of course) and call it a night!
Good luck at your party - you can do it!

How is everyone doing? I know it's only day 3! I am feeling tired and hungry and I want to eat chocolate.  But I am not giving in. I told myself I would do this till the end. Wish my luck as I have an unexpected graduation party to attend this weekend. I know there will be lots of good food and drinks there. I guess I will have to pack my meal..

I am starting Wednesday and we have been buying stuff so we have things ready to go when we start (New spices, vinegars and oils that are compliant). It has been an expensive past couple of days, but the way we look at it, it is almost impossible for us to eat out when on the Whole30 (Or much more difficult to find something compliant, easier to just make it at home). This means that we will save money on eating out, which can then be put toward buying more fruits, veggies and meat, and in the end, I figure we will either break even or save money over when we were eating out a one or twice a week even.

I am also spending a lot of money on groceries!
I buy "tupperware" every time I go to the store,( it is teetering on hoarding) I upgraded some kitchen utensils and cookware and i needed spices and pils etc (i have spent $18 on coconut oil alone and need more ASAP! ) so i spent close to $1000 this month. (I'm on day 28)
But ...whole9 has a list of vegetables and fruits that has saved me some money... it lists fruits and veggies that are clean or dirty... And I only buy the dirty items organic ( for me that is green leafies and celery) and shop the sales /seasonally otherwise. ( ie asparagus was cheap... So I ate a lot... Now it's $3 per pound...and it is off my menu.) and I made some mistakes... Spaghetti squash costs $7 and I don't love it it ( but I can make a huge pile of zucchini noodles for a couple bucks (pasta may never need reintro)
When I buy eggs at $5/ dozen it helps me to think about how much 2 egg mcmuffins cost...
( financially and to my health) and I realize $1.25 per meal for protein is CHEAP!
(Buying Grass fed beef however still makes me a lil shocky)
Eating this way is not cheap... But if I audited my food and drink spending pre whole 30 i'd find that I spent at least as much... At culvers, Babbo, , McDonald's, Starbucks, quicktrip, crispy cream, and buying food in pretty boxes and beer etc. and this month I only spent $15 ( a pound of Sumatran coffee)
So ...I think I'm spending my money wisely for a change!

My 15 year old daughter and I are starting today.  This will be my 3rd round and her first.  We're excited and I spent most of yesterday food prepping while she read through the PDFs and lists, etc.
She actually approached me about doing this, so I'm along for moral support.  I had a *very* off program summer so need to get back into better habits.  We're both looking forward to it.  Let me know if you're starting today too and we can check on one another and keep honest
