    Here are a couple favorites we've made recently:

    Although 12 days seem an eternity right now, they really are not especially considering the 18 days you already have behind you.  Dig deep! You can do this!  Think about the demands you currently have on you, and you have been able to function through them and still take care of you! That is Tiger blood. You may not have spare energy but it’s because you are using it to the max to eat well in the midst of a lot of physical demands.  How would your coping abilities be if you were not doing a whole 30 currently?  
    I have found amazing food inspiration from the whole30recipe Instagram page.  I have also started following several of the weekly highlighted accounts.  I am amazed at how many Instagram bloggers there are now with fantastic recipes.  
    I also snoop through the food logs here on the forum and anything that sounds good I follow the link and save to Pinterest for later reference.  Pinterest is also another great place to find inspiring recipes.
    get rid of the cake.. nothing is free, it will cost you 18 days of blood sweat and tears.

    I'm just catching up on your posts.  Way to go, sticking with it, not giving in to emotions or teasing. I'm so sorry about your childhood friend.

    It’s Day 16 and I’m fired up, taking the bulls by the horn and controlling my outcome.
    7:55 rise and shine.  Trying not to stress and just take one task at a time
    9:00 M1: 2 mini quiche with primal steak sauce, 1 Tbs coconut oil, and 1/2 a grapefruit.
    I felt the hunger coming on so I stopped what I was doing and grabbed some food.  It hit the stop and I’m back at it
    11:30 I got the boys out the door and now I can focus on getting me ready.  Not to mention all the work interruptions I’ve had today.
    1:00 S1: trying to do all things and I felt the hunger rise up so I grabbed the four blackberries I set aside from making a fruit compote for the babies yogurt, and 1 slice of no sugar bacon I just pulled out of the oven.  Both were delicious and well enjoyed.  I’m in the middle of all the food prep for my trip.
    3:00 M2: sweet and sour chicken with onions and peppers on a bed of riced cauliflower with clarified butter.

    OMG this dish is the bomb baby!  I made clarified butter to go over my riced cauliflower.  The ghee is okay for cooking with, but it has a distinct flavor that just doesn’t do it for me as a plated fat.  I’m not a big fan of cauliflower and I was gonna need a tasty plated fat to help me enjoy it.  So I made the attempt.  It turned out great and taste soooooooo much better than the ghee I have.  I will still use the ghee for cooking until I run out.  Now back to the kitchen lol

    2:00 M1: 2 sweet potato mini quiche with spinach and sausage, sautéed cabbage with bacon, sweet potato with almond butter.
    Hello hunger my old friend.  Finally started feeling hungry and it’s hunger because I’ve been drinking lots of water.  I feel better too, the water definitely helped.  Food taste so much better when you are hungry!
    I’m regretting not wearing a belt… I honestly didn’t think I would need it with these pants.  I guess that’s a good problem to have
    11:00 M2:  2 mini quiche and a clementine 
    I’m not really hungry but thinking it would be wise to eat so I don’t get the munchies.   Phew it’s been a long day and it’s not quite over yet.  My mood and energy definitely improved throughout the day.  Water certainly helped.  I went straight to the grocery store when I got back to town.  Grabbed the specialty foods my 11 yr DS will need while with his grandparents and a few other supplies for the boys and the remaining items for my trip.  I’m going to have a successful whole 30 weekend even while traveling and vending.  Let the packing begin!

    It’s Day 14, two weeks compliant and that is saying something!
    7:55 rise and shine. Lots and lots to do today.  Got everyone up and started food prep.  1st up sweet potato mini quiche.  I scored some sausage at Sprouts that is compliant, and it’s got a kick.  I hope I can handle the heat!

    9:30 M1: 1.5 eggs and about 6oz sausage and 1/3c pineapple.
    I had about 1.5 eggs left over and 1/3 of the sausage so I tossed the two in a hot pan and made me a sausage scramble.  Oh I wish I had had some Lettuce left because that would have been great as a wrap.  I finished off the pineapple with it. Yum!  Now to rush off to the boys cooking class.  I have to remember no taste testing the apple pie or quiche they are making.  
    And they plopped a piece of ice cream and pie down in front of me! So I fed most of it to the baby and when he was done… I grabbed the plate and spoon, picked it up took a long whiff as my eyes rolled back into my head I tossed it in the trash. That’s how we tame the inner two year old saying I want it! I want it! I want it!  Not today sweetheart, it just doesn’t match up with your current long term goals darling.  There will be apple pie in your future, just not today so sit your butt down and drink some water.  And so I did.

    Day 16! 
    I am so excited I have passed the halfway point. I was super busy Sunday with meal prep and Monday going back to work. I made a super delicious pot roast on Sunday which will be my lunches for the week. i have so many leftovers in my fridge. Last night I just had leftovers. i love having many leftovers in the fridge! 
    M1- bacon, hash browns, and eggs.  With coffee. 

    my teeth are bothering me right now which is random, I just went to the dentist so I think that is it. I will update later. ❤️

    Wooooooo you totally rocked that situation.  It sucks that your friend teased you about the lack of drinking rather than offering you words of encouragement.  Some people mask their sense of discomfort with what they think is humor.  
    My sympathy to you in the loss of a childhood friend.  Death especially of someone close to our own age that we played with in our youth is a very crass reminder of our own mortality and just how fragile life is.  
    A little pampering, What a nice way to celebrate you and all you have accomplished so far.  Be blessed!

    Yay!!!!! We have similar victories this week. My first time I quit on day 10 too! Today is day 12 for me and I feel great. 
     
    I also watch the bachelor ! I am excited in a few weeks I can have a glass of wine watching when the season becomes more intense. 
     
    i went to a movie a few day’s ago and brought complaint snacks. I didn’t eat anything. It was tempting.

    This is resonated with my soul this morning after my morning quiet time. 
    They say the bravest thing is for an addict to take the first steps to recovery.  Food is my drug of choice, and I am neck deep in the struggle of recovery.  
    This journey is so much more than just what I choose to put in my mouth!  80% of the struggle is mental/emotional junk I must overcome, and no one but me can do it for me.  
    It is Day 12 and I am resolute today and in this moment to change my mindset and my desires towards food and health.  I am better than I was, but not as well as I could be.  The struggle is slow and long, but temporary.  I am changing.  This is my metamorphosis.

    No I am not far from it.  Back when I used to work in the corporate world full time I would arrive to work an hour early just so I would have to deal with the smell of coffee in the break room.  I’m a tea girl, but I’m even abstaining from that currently.  My sugar dragon is a Siamese twin with caffeine

    day 13 ! Today is a great day everyone. Felt very productive. 
     
    m1- the usual (eggs, hash browns, Pederson mild sausage links, coffee with nut pudd)
    snack- husband went shopping today instead of Sunday so I ate some fruit and veggies I had pre cut to make space for the new food!  
     
    m2- turkey lettuce wrap with tomato and quac 
    snack- not really a snack but I had some gold potatoes that needed to be baked. I did a whole bunch for the coming week. They were too tasty not to “taste” a couple. 
     
    m3- the best feeling meal in a while. It’s this Avocado Chicken lime soup that I’ve made many times before. I omitted tortilla chips. It was just fresh and delicious. I’ve been eating a lot of beef so felt I needed a break. I was getting full very easily. Tonight I ate two bowls of this soup!! I think adding more lean protein will help me eat more. (See picture below. This is actually a photo from last year. I was too hungry to take one today) it was pretty easy to make in one pot!

    I was feeling good today. I am nervous about going back to work on Monday. The main reason is I’m nervous to get back to my clients. I am a counseling intern. But also some nerves around staying whole30. It’s a nonprofit and people love to bring food. I even had a thought “I should bring donuts” on Monday (it’s my first day back since mid December). And was like NO I’m still on whole30. I cannot tempt my own self. Hah. 
    I am going to try and workout tomorrow morning. Which I have not done yet. I haven’t been working out for a while as it was. I have a food full of lots of leftovers and I posted a photo on the blog. I am taking steps in the right direction. Haha.

    Day 12 almost complete!!!
    I officially made it past day 10, where I quit during my first whole30.  Yesterday I felt amazing but I knew I didn’t eat enough when I got into bed. I only slept a few hours and today has been a blur but I am feeling more optimistic
    m1- eggs with ghee, hash browns, 3 Pederson sausages and a side of raspberries 
    m2- spaghetti squash with meat sauce. 
    snack- plantain crisp with guac
    m3- steak with brussel sprouts. 
     
    trying to avoid the RXBars.. I have been eating one per day the last few days.  I’ve had some diarrhea the past few day’s I think it’s the magnesium I’ve been taking to help sleep. So avoiding that and the RX bar. 
     
    my goal for the second half of whole30 is to incorporate even more veggies. Try to follow the proportions more closely and make very simple meals. 
     
    optimistic ❤️ I planned my week 3 grocery shopping and meals today. Husband will go shopping tomorrow and I will prep some things. 
     
    prep goals
    - 4 burgers - a pack of sausages -a pan of roasted potatos -pan of roasted veggies and beef stew for my lunches next week. 

    I start back at my internship on Monday. So first week where I have things to do.

    6:10 Up and at em.  Another busy work day ahead.  Phew I can do this! 
    7:30 M1: scrambled eggs with garlic powder basil and oregano cooked in coconut oil.  Wilted spinach, roma tomato, 1/4 avocado.  Tossed it all in a plastic container and had to eat on the road.
    Mornings are my nemesis, but I determined to see this through. So take that mornings!  It feels good to be taking care of me.  Also not spending $20-30 at restaurants on days we have to be on the road is a NSV I did not anticipate!
    Trying not to get anxious about next week.  I have to travel with my hubby to help with booth at a big roller skating party.  He has his own business selling roller skates.  I’m talking specialized custom high end roller skates.  We have high end inventory in everything from the boots down to the wheels and bearings.  I am loss control.  I prevent the $200+ wheels from walking away lol.  I help make sales too but truly he’s the real genius.  It’s crazy busy long days, typically on these trip we make it by on one meal and snacks, and hole lot of caffeinated sodas.  So I have to get an idea for compact but filling meals that will be a quick grab and go.  I’m definitely bringing my hot logic, and we have made sure we will have a mini fridge.  My challenge on this trip is we will not be staying at the host hotel, which means I will not have access to my room throughout the day/evening while vending. I’m open to any suggestions so please drop a comment if you have any suggestions that can help me prepare to be whole 30 strong next weekend.
    1:45 M2:  pineapple pork with golden BBQ sauce, asparagus with olive oil and garlic powder, 1/4 avocado and 1/4 cup blueberries.
    I was sooooo hungry at noon, but alas I was pushing through to get done.  Lunch was so yummy.  I’m exited to have time to go to Sprouts while I’m in the city to get some compliant bacon.

    Aw thank you for being open about your emotional journey! I know a lot of us can relate. Forgiving ourselves is a long process. And dang, if my husband asked me to get him fast food right now that would be a real test of our love! haha!

    Blood tests results were mostly okay, one level related to pancreas was a little high but I'm not sure if that means anything.  Had my ultrasound today and meeting with a dietitian tonight.
