I’m so excited we did this! I am not really ready to reintroduce as the foods feel natural to me but I will so I know how I am impacted. I finally got my sleep sorted in the last few days. With the exception of having to take NyQuil because I got a cold I stayed completely compliant  Muslim is clear and I have tons of energ! I did get on the scale and lost 9 lbs and one inch everywhere (except for my boobs. Lost three there because...boobs). But most importantly I’ve rediscovered my love of cooking and don’t feel like this was a “diet” at all. And i have the energy to cook after work. It feels more like an effort NOT to eat this way. I’m amazed that o don’t have cravings. Congrats to all.

We did it! How did it end up for everyone?? I know it's not about this at all, but I was curious since I had just done a body scan at the gym in August so I did one today. I lost 8# - 6 of that being fat, and 2% of my overall body fat percentage. Really happy with that and all of the other NSVs along the way!
    Congratulations everyone!

It's Saturday night, and it was a hectic day. I panicked a bit when I realized I hadn't eaten lunch as of 1:30 (I had breakfast at 7am). I was rushing out the door and grabbed some leftovers - beet and citrus salad and a chicken sausage. Hey, it was better than nothing and actually tasted great! I'm finding that it pays to double batch recipes just in case. I do miss eating with my family, though. My husband just forges ahead and makes dinner for himself and my daughter. While they are both supportive, they won't go Whole30. Oh well.
The North African Chicken and Sweet Potatoes knocked my socks off again tonight. I'm loving the flavors.
NSV? More energy for sure. No need for snacking. No food cravings. Hydrated. More alert. Shoulder impingement is MUCH better (how strange), no bloating...
I admit. I. Do. Miss. My. Wine. But, honestly, I don't know if I'll go back to my daily glass or two. While I love it, it has always made me feel drowsy, puffy, sleepless and lethargic. That's what you get for loving a neurotoxin, I guess :-).
Anyone thinking they've changed their diet for the long term, or are you excited about the reintroduction of noncompliant food?

Success! A weekend away was 100% compliant...and I wasn't super tempted (NSV). I took some time and recognized my not so healthy eating patterns (drinking 1 or 2 glasses of wine with a nice dinner, eating bread, etc). I abstained from it all and still had a great time. The key was to prep ALL MY MEALS before leaving home. I had this huge cooler with us that my husband called my "lunchbox". Ha ha. I had a nice steak at my husband's bday dinner that had only salt and pepper on it, a bare baked potato and some steamed squash. The Chef at the resort we stayed at was super supportive. I prepped: breakfast sausage, chicken meatballs, spaghetti squash (and sauce), cauliflower mash, coleslaw with homemade dressing, chicken salad, mayo, hard boiled eggs, different types of lettuce, lots of fresh veggies and fruit, nuts and PLENTY of La Croix!
I ate better than any other road trip I've been on!
I hope everyone else persevered as well -- it's worth it!

Well, I'm officially on Day 8 and doing great! I think I'm approaching the "pants don't fit" stage. I'm feeling soooo full. I'm enjoying it all, but feeling the strain of food prep and menu planning. I'm very lucky to have a full commercial kitchen where I work. I spend a bit of time in there prepping for meals ahead of time. I typically walk in with three bags of food!
I realize I'm only a week in, but while I am appreciating the great recipes, I'm not really seeing any difference in the way I feel (aside from being satiated and not snacking). I'll stick it through since I'm enjoying the increased attention on what I'm putting in my body. We shall see...
    Carry on!

That is some heavy duty prep! SO awesome. Prepping is the key to this but it is such a commitment. Awesome job!

We had a good weekend (my husband is on this journey with me). We went to the LA County Fair on Saturday and DID NOT EAT A THING, even though there was food EVERYWHERE! We made sure we ate a big breakfast before we left. And after the fair, we dashed on over to In-n-Out and had a compliant double-double. We devoured them! Sunday we were with family and brought our own food (while everyone else was eating hot dogs and chips). It was a little tempting to take "just one bite" of the chips, but I resisted.
I made the classic chili recipe from the Whole30 book and will have that for dinner tonight.

It's Sunday, made it through another weekend. Two down, 2 to go. Movie no popcorn. Dinner no wine. How did everyone else do?

Day 11 Still here. I'm struggling with the thought of another wine-free weekend. Wish me luck.

@Readyfor30! I dreamed about having sushi with rice and some kinds of caraway seed  crackers yesterday. Neither foods I particularly want to eat but I guess my dreams are manifesting some sort of carb cravings! Hang in there. You will turn a corner.
