    Edamame is soy, so no.
    French bean is like a green bean, as far as I know, so it's okay. It falls under the exception for green beans, snap peas, and snow peas, they are more pod than seed, and the seed is the part we're avoiding in whole30.

    First, don't beat yourself up. You asked questions and tried to be as prepared and informed as possible. For the future, you'll know to ask about spice blends and whatnot as well. (I've run into something similar, so I tend to be overly-specific when making sure I can eat restaurant food.)
    Second, just observe as you complete your originally planned Whole30, and review at the end to see if you feel like you need more time to reach the "baseline" before starting to reintroduce foods. Keep notes to see if all you seem to suffer is a headache, or if it also seems to throw your gut out of whack, or any other issues that might pop up. After day 30, if you feel like you've had reactions and want to give it more time, do so.
    Third, remember that not everything is related to food. Sometimes a headache is just a headache and has nothing to do with what's eaten. It's a worthwhile thing to monitor and see if you react, certainly, because it's lining up with the timing on the traces of soy... but it's entirely possible it has some other source, and that the timing is coincidental.

    As for my initial question, I found out that you can add your own recipes to Real Plans and that there are a lot of vegetarian whole30 meals freely available elsewhere, so I'll just add those to my plan

    Do you have a specific deficiency? You should be getting plenty of vitamins and minerals through a variety of veggies and fruits, if you have them. If you don't have a deficiency, you just pee out the extra vitamins - you don't get extra healthy having them!
    If you do have a deficiency, it's worth hunting down a brand which has no added sugar (definitely no gummies etc) and just has the vitamin you're deficient in, rather than a multi. You'll need to check ingredients to make sure it has no other additives which are non-compliant.

    OK, so Sunday was NOT back on track, ended up having pizza and too much wine. I feel like garbage.
    Meal 1: Salmon omelette with spicy kraut
    Meal 2: Beef "stoup" with cauli rice
    Meal 3: Steak, steamed veg and baked potato with ghee.

    Saturday was definitely a food freedom Day, went to a Christmas in July party and ate all the delicious things. Lots of veg! Back on track tomorrow with food prep Sunday.

    Food freedom... means I'm having a glass or 2 of sparkling wine tonight because we're celebrating  But it also means I came home and ate my pre-planned chicken casserole and NOT the pizza we walked past on the way home., and tomorrow is back to normal. Because that's food freedom!

    This is my first time starting the Whole 30. It feels so good to enter Day 17. I honestly can’t believe that I feel sooooooo much better in this short time frame. I’ve been journaling daily and recording all of my NSVs! I can tell I’ve lost weight and/or inches too. I know I shouldn’t be looking forward to hopping on the scale on day 31, but I am. I guess I just want to validate my progress even though I shouldn’t care about that damn number. I know that I’m in shock that I feel so much better after only a couple of weeks of eating this way. Here’s to successfully finishing the program. I have not cheated one time and I don’t plan to either. This feels too good.

    Just found this forum on day 18. I started to support my daughter’s journey but I’m finding this to be very helpful to my mindset. I lost 60 lbs on Ideal Protein 5 years ago, and have Continued to go back every year since then because I continue to gain at least 20 lbs each year. The downside to that is a food fear. I’m so used to eating packaged foods that have no idea how to eat anymore. I am already finding a food freedom and I’m only half way through. Buying potatoes and it’s not a holiday? Unheard of for me! I am already considering making this a 60 day journey because in the beginning, I wasn’t doing it for “me”. And now I am, and loving it!

    Day 4
    I was too tired last night to eat any snacks, even though I was a tiny bit hungry.  So I woke up very hungry and my usual breakfast has not sufficed to settling the hunger pangs.  I am going to snack on some fruit (apple or banana) to get me through to lunch.  In a previous Whole30 I was a breakfast queen, making exactly the kind of breakfast that Whole30 guides recommend.  However, it is going to take me a bit to work up to that.  I didn't have any time to make eggs this morning, and I do not like hardboiled eggs, quiches, egg salad or any other eggy type of food for breakfast.  Maybe someday that will sound good, but for now, it's either potatoes & fat, or eggs & potatoes & fat for breakfast.  I like my eggs fried, hot & the yolk medium to hard.  That is the only way.  I eat plenty of protein with lunch and dinners.  If I need it I will add some sunflower seed butter to my apple slices in the morning.

    I have decided to do a video log at the end of each week of my Whole30, showing my progress.  If I end up posting it somewhere I will share   I think this will hold me accountable and show my progress so I can look back and see what the Whole30 did for me later on.

    Hello!! My name is Laura and I will be starting my first Whole30 on Monday July 8th. My ultimate goal is to finish and my other goal is to take the first steps towards truly changing my relationship with food. Food has been my drug for almost my entire life. I know that in order to be successful I will have to learn how to be uncomfortable and so I am gearing up to deal with all the suck that is going to come with it. I am looking forward to and dreading this experience all at the same time. I appreciate any suggestions or advice anyone might have. Thank you!
