    Starting March 6 for Lent

Lent is done with the start of the Triduum! Is anyone fasting tomorrow or starting reintroduction, or waiting until Saturday or Sunday?

That's hard when a spouse isn't as supportive and it's more work for you. Mine likes what I serve him and is on board with Whole30 but can't help much with meal prep with his schedule, so I do most of the cooking. One week to go! We're planning to keep going with most of the same habits after Easter.

    Spacing water for digestion

Yes, their books do describe avoiding water during meals if there are digestive difficulties due to IBS, high FODMAP foods, and other items. Mentioned in at least 2 of the books, just not the timing. Hoping someone with thorough knowledge of the program would have some insight.

    Spacing water for digestion

I'm trying to avoid drinking water with meals to help my digestive issues. I haven't noticed in any of the books what that timing looks like. An hour on either side of meals? 30 minutes?

How did you celebrate your birthday? Did family or friends want to celebrate somehow? Mine is coming up this week and my teens are not happy about me not having cake a Chinese food, my usual yearly treat.

    Birthday ideas?

It's my birthday this week and my teens are NOT thrilled that I won't be having cake. I can't say I'm jumping for joy either. Any ideas to mark the day as special without going off plan? I'm thinking a fruit salad with a splurge on berries and melons, topped with some whipped coconut cream with a candle stuck in it. Yes? No?

    Compliant pickles in Canada

I like them? I like vinegary pickles without too much garlic - Bick's Dill pickles were my favourite. I find these very close, maybe a tad tangier. It was a local Your Independent store, part of the Loblaws chains

How long do you cook ghee?

So, how long do you guys have to cook your ghee? I've made it a few times and lately it feels like it's taking forever to brown, like 2-3 hours.

Day 27 and full of doubts

Exactly. I feel like I'm eating until I'm stuffed because it needs to last me until my next meal, though I'm usually stuffed with vegetables. And I still feel hungry between meals. But I find that everything I read here when people hit roadblocks is "Eat more. You aren't eating enough. If you eat more you'll feel better and have success." And on chocolate... I can get a 100% pure Arcana chocolate bar that is smooth as silk and so satisfying with just a tiny piece. Technically Whole30 compliant ingredients but not in the spirit of a reset.

    Compliant pickles in Canada

I love pickles in my salads and wraps and was struggling to find compliant ones. The brand's normally listed in Whole30 sites are not available in my small town. I did find these new ones in my store, in with the international foods. They also make olives and other pickled items.

Day 27 and full of doubts

I'm 5'3" and 155 so I definitely have some extra that can go. And though I've always eaten home-cooked meals with tons on veggies, before this my snacking on chips and chocolate was getting out of hand. So even just by cutting out the junk I expected some results.

Day 27 and full of doubts

Every morning I eat 2-3 eggs cooked in ghee with chopped vegetables such as spinach, zucchini, onion, peppers. Sometimes add 1/2 cup of meat. Usually a piece of fruit. Lunch is a palm sized amount of meat or fish with 2 cups of cooked vegetables or 1 cup vegetable and 1 cup potatoes (usually leftovers) topped with ghee or 4 cups salad with homemade ranch. Also a serving of fruit. Supper is a palm-sized piece of meat and usually 3 different vegetables, usually roasted or sauteed in olive oil, and topped with ghee. If I snack, not every day, it is usually raw veggies with ranch, or a bit of meat or nuts with fruit. My work schedule varies, it's usually 6am-4pm, but some days it is 12pm-10pm. I'm on my feet walking or carrying stuff all day. I drink only water and only in-between meals, usually 6-8 large glasses per day.

Day 27 and full of doubts

I'm on day 27 and I'm plagued by doubt about the program helping me. I was hoping it would help with my skin (lifelong acne) but it hasn't yet. I'm terrified I'll be in the 3% of people who gain weight on this program. My clothing is tighter than before I started. My digestion and energy level are still giving me issues. I've been taking a gymnastics class since September but this last month it feels like my flexibility has decreased. I'm so tired of trying things that work for everyone else and being told I must be the exception that doesn't work.

    Starting March 6 for Lent

I just found this. Hubby and I are doing our first WholeXX for Lent this year. I find it a challenge because I work different shifts throughout the week. Also, I have 3 kids aged 12-20 who keep eating the compliant food we make, especially the meats meant for our lunches! Grrr.... Even though we are doing a Whole46, do you think it would be inappropriate to peek at the scale on Day 31? I honestly feel like I'm gaining weight and my clothes are tighter.
