That really sucks about the physicians giving you the run around. Is it possible to see a different endocrinologist?

Day 16: I am 48% complete with this thing, y'all
Last night, my cat, who normally just wants to sleep, decided he wanted in and out. And in and out. And in. And then...out. I am really tired and more than a little grumpy, as the sleep has been lovely thus far.
    Breakfast: scrambled eggs; black coffee
Lunch: Leftover sausage, leftover pancetta, salad
Dinner: grilled fish, grilled squash; fizzy water
Movement: packing at the house, a run on Green Mountain, walking to 12k steps

If you have financial bandwidth for a RealPlans subscription, it is worth every penny. I have a long list of items I cannot eat and the app lets me select which items to always exclude. Good luck with your prep!

    Day 15:
I remained in compliance all weekend. Friday night at "Wicked" I enjoyed fizzy water with lime, in a fancy glass because the bartender was sweet. The show was amazing, and it was 10/10 worth getting out. My daughter loved it. Saturday involved a 6+ mile hike with 3k feet of elevation gain, which was amazing. The rest of the weekend involved a lot of gardening, some school work prep for me. It was busy, and I could use a weekend to recover from my weekend, but here we are. Monday again.
The weekend was so busy I made no time to go to the grocery store. So the kitchen is close to empty. Fortunately I am zero hungry today.
This week I work Monday to Wednesday. I also need to fully pack my other house. Thursday, the movers come. Friday, I close the house sale and am finally, FINALLY finished moving to the new house. I started my grad degree capstone course today, and the workload is about three times as much as every other course in my grad degree, so that's the stuff of nightmares. Assuming I do the bare minimum of writing for each assignment it will still be about 200 pages of written content in the next 8 weeks. I'm already tired.
I am finding routine in the new eating habits. Everyone else goes for a soda, I grab a fizzy water. Everyone else goes for dessert, I go for a walk with Audible playing. I like my coffee black, and drink less of it now than I used to. I don't miss sweets as much as I thought, and that's a relief. I am losing weight, although I can't step on the scale to prove it. I feel amazing, and that's a nice. I miss the foods I miss, but I do NOT miss the way they made me feel.
Breakfast: egg and ham frittatas; black coffee
Lunch: leftover grilled chicken and salad
Dinner: grilled salmon and grilled veggies (THANK GOD. It is warm and dry this week, so we will eat off of the grill all week!)

I empathize deeply with your frustration about Dr's and their, often complete, disregard for your health and well-being. I have to fight aggressively to have Dr's hear me and address my issues.

I am so impressed with all of you who have families you need to prepare food for or have things in the fridge for. I live with my brother who doesn't eat like me but he takes care of himself so i don't need to worry about that. In 2013 when I did my 1st one he volunteered to move his cupboard foods into a cabinet we had and has kept it there ever since. The fridge most is my domain because fresh foods take up more space. I am very lucky he is fine with his small space

    DAY 11
Breakfast: Hash browns and 2 eggs
Lunch: Steak Salad w/ Balsamic Dressing
    Dinner: Sheet Pan Jambalaya
    Snacks:  Grapes, a few nuts
    Exercise: High Ropes Obstacle Course
Sleep:  Went to bed about 9, up at 1 came downstairs for a bit and read, was nodding off so I went bad to bed were I slept fitfully until getting up at 5.
Bowels: (Sorry, yes I think I need to start tracking this for myself. Just feel free to move along.) Seemed better yesterday, not the constant sort of diarrhea like throughout the day. Waking on Day 12, the BIG diarrhea dump.
    NSV:  No cravings.
Survived a High Ropes Obstacle Course - that was EXHAUSTING and I didn't get all anxious before going that I wasn't going to have enough energy to do it.
Thoughts & Feelings:  At out for lunch for the first time that I kinda had to wing it (I did look at the menu online before going) but I was able to remove the offending items and I think I was compliant. The steak was Ah-MAZE-ing....so I wouldn't swear that it was compliant but dang it was good.
Really appreciated my Mother's Day gift of the ropes course. It was fun in the beginning but got a bit stressful and scary as I got tired. But it distracted me from the reasons I usually don't enjoy the day. Then my daughter was full on teenager in the afternoon and put a heavy damper on dinner and the evening. Oh well, can't win them all. But man parenting sucks.
I've decided that I really like this online journal and think it might be something worth continuing after Whole 30. I enjoy the few minutes each morning to review the day before get things out.

@Laurie's All In and @cinco_mouser -- you two have both shown me really consistent kindness when I've been going through a very difficult time. You cannot know how much I appreciate it.  And Laurie, I just want to tell you that I am so sorry for your loss. All my love and good thoughts to you. <3
    DAY TWELVE
Breakfast: Salsa chicken on cauliflower rice, plus roasted cabbage, last handful of nuts
Lunch: Salsa chicken on cauliflower rice, plus roasted cabbage
Dinner: Chicken soup with an egg
Snacks: Lara bar, Epic bar, half an apple, some deli turkey
Exercise: 3 miles run and some light weight training
Thoughts/Reflections: I went to see a movie today at a theater that lets you order food and drinks, and I’ve been so burnt out I gave myself permission to have two drinks (max), but I ended up not having any of them, because I didn't want any. So I ended up ending Day Twelve compliant!

That is a LOT of drama! I'm glad your daughter and her friends were all OK. I am so tired and angry with all these threats at the schools, and outright violence occurring on campuses.
Well done of maintaining your compliance despite a highly dramatic day. I hope you're able to sort the SnapChat thing out with your daughter. I don't let mine partake in any form of social media for this very reason.

    Day 12:
Yesterday, my husband, whom I love, brought home some naan to have with his curry. And the kids all had desserts from the Whole Foods deli. Y'all. Some of those desserts are still in the fridge looking tempting. I am working hard to avoid the fridge today. My husband, wisely, hid the naan.
All three kids go back to their other parent's houses on Monday, and my person has agreed to keep the kitchen in compliance while they're away, which is a relief.
Breakfast: Taco mince, leftover cauli-mash, egg + ham frittata, black coffee
Lunch: Taco mince, leftover cauli-mash, sweet potato, iced tea
Dinner: Leftover beef curry and cauli-mash; poached eggs
Reflections: Tonight I am taking my daughter to "Wicked." Our normal pattern for going out is to have dinner at a restaurant, then go to the show, and at intermission buy a cookie. Y'all. That is obviously not going to work for today. So, dinner at home, and I'll still buy my daughter a cookie at intermission. I'll give myself permission for fizzy water if there are any available at the theatre.

Day 9: I didn't fail yesterday, and I'm not planning to fail today either.
Reflections on yesterday: I managed to get into the kitchen, grab compliant food, and shove it in before I could embrace eating the entire kitchen. Once the oh-gods-eat-something rush was over, remaining compliant was easy for the evening. In hindsight, I should have walked in the door from the run, immediately into the kitchen, and eaten something. This is not a habit for me, I usually wait to eat until I am cooled off, often after showering. That's not going to be a thing for this program, so I will adjust my post-exercise eating pattern.
Breakfast: Black coffee, ham & broccoli frittatas
    Lunch: Bacon + leftover soup
    Dinner: Scallops + green beans
Exercise: achieving step count for the day (12k)

Day 2 has been MUCH better than Day 1. I slept like a rock; I bought some fizzy water (sparkling mineral water) to brighten my afternoons.
Breakfast: Asian chicken and cabbage hash with poached eggs; coffee with coconut cream
Lunch: borscht with chicken; sparkling water of deliciousness
    Dinner: Stir-fried greens with sausage; sweet potato and kale gratin;

I'm starting this process, but unhappily so. I'm not joyfully walking toward this, but I AM committed to doing this thing. My selected date is 33 days rather than 30, because I like to start on Mondays and stop at the end of a thing (month). Today, drinking black coffee was easier than I expected, but I basically spent the entire day famished. Like...it's 5pm and I've achieved a state of not hungry JUST NOW after eating 12oz of bacon. It's not like I wasn't eating, either, ya'll. It's not the end of the world, but man. I would love to NOT be starting for the next 32 days.

Breakfast: poached eggs, fried sweet potatoes, coffee
Pre-lunch: poached eggs, friend sweet potatoes
    Lunch: borscht with chicken
OMG SO HUNGRY: borscht with chicken (two bowls!), and bacon. Like...a LOT of bacon. A package of bacon. Y'all. I was so hungry.
Dinner: garlic rosemary chicken, sautéd kale

    DAY ELEVEN
Breakfast: Sauteed broccoli slaw and mushrooms, with two scrambled eggs and a sausage, and a pear and a couple nuts
Lunch: Sauteed broccoli slaw and mushrooms, with two scrambled eggs and a sausage, and a handful of nuts and some dried fruit
Dinner: Salsa chicken on lettuce with half an avocado
Snacks: A L L. What didn’t I have? Prosciutto, tons of nuts, dried fruit.
    Exercise: None...
Thoughts/Reflections: Well I started out really strong with my no-snacking thing when I got home from work, but then I just went berserk in the evening. I understand why people said these would be the hardest days. I threw out the remainder of the nuts/dried fruits this morning (Day Twelve). I read on a facebook forum today that the reason why you should only have nuts sparingly was because they have enough carbs that they can activate your sugar dragon and get you into a “no brakes” situation. Well, I guess I’m nominally comforted in that I am not alone in having this problem. So glad E is coming home today (Day Twelve).
I made a huge batch of salsa chicken thighs in my crock pot, so that is going to have my meals prepped for a little while.
Extremely disappointed to learn that we are going out to a restaurant for my dad’s birthday on Tuesday next week, where there is no way I will be able to have a 100% compliant meal. I will call the restaurant the day beforehand and see if there are a few adjustments I can make, but it’s a prix-fixe menu. I am kind of devastated... but last year my dad had a massive heart attack (the kind you don’t survive, but he did) and we didn’t get to celebrate his birthday, really. So there’s no f--ing way I’m going to not go to this, or that I wouldn’t eat. I just wish my mom (who made the reservations) was a better ally as I eat healthier (she said “just skip a day” :| ). I know that means that I technically am supposed to start over, but I’m just going to keep going. I am doing this as part of pre-wedding stuff, and the end of Whole30 will pretty much run right into it, so that’s going to be its length.
But boy I wanted to give up yesterday. LIKE A LOT. But I knew it wouldn't make me any happier.

    DAY 9- 30% done!
Breakfast: Sweet Potato, Chicken Apple Sausage, Apple Hash
    Lunch: Chipotle Whole 30 Bowl
Dinner: Hash browns and 2 eggs w/ 1/2 and Avocado
Snacks:  Probably more than few grapes, a few nuts,  some a Go-Go Squeeze and a Tuna pouch after workout, an RX bar because lunch was running late
Exercise: Climbing Gym, boy, has it been a while!
Sleep:   9:30-3, laid around until 5.
NSV: - The climbing gym for the first time in a long time. Helps that I went in the morning rather than evening when I'm usually too tired.
It was a pissy, stressful, crappy day and I didn't go nuts. Other than maybe a few too many grapes.
A ate an RX bar and I was more than a little afraid that I would be drooling from the sweet goodness, and yes it was good but I didn't feel like it was awakening my "sugar dragon"
I had no dinner planned, didn't even try to figure it out until I was already hungry but still was able to come up with a quick easy compliant meal.
Thoughts & Feelings:  A NSFail today was I bailed on my bike event last night. I was not in the right frame of mind to go out to eat at a tap house that I know to have great food (Colorado Plus for Cinco's sake), and then go to this women's bike event that every year as some A-mazing treats, and alcohol, and more than that it has bike teams and people getting excited about racing and riding and I'm struggling just to get on my bike.
A friend of mine who's doing this W30 thing with me works at the climbing gym, but she was working from home when I was there so I swung by her house after and we chatted for a long time and it was great. She's cheating (with alcohol like I knew she would - but I don't care) but she was roasting up her sweet potatoes while I was there. Felt really relaxed and laughed and connected....I needed that!

Everybody's journey through this process is different, I think. Like you, I have a medication schedule which must be adhered to. It's not an option. I think it doesn't qualify as snacking if it is medically necessary. For example, if a person is diabetic and their blood sugar drops, no one anywhere would tell them not to snack because the rules of Whole30 say no snacking. I take medication at 3pm every day, and that medication cannot be taken on an empty stomach. I reserve a section of my lunch for 3pm and merrily move forward.

I have MCAS and a known latex allergy. Any fruits that have a similar protein profile to latex need to be avoided. This includes bananas, tropical citrus fruits (pineapple, kiwi, mango, passion fruit, papaya), avocados, strawberries, figs, apples, every type of melon. I also react poorly to tomatoes, carrots, celery, and soy.
I also have birch-fruit allergy, which means no almonds or hazelnuts, or any stone fruits (apricot, cherry, peach, plum, pear).
