  1. How is everyone doing? I am on Day 24 today, and have been experiencing some intense cravings. I attribute it to eating a medjool date with almond butter as a snack to hold me over last Wednesday. Since then, I've been craving dried fruit and fruits. I've been giving into the cravings, which has been disappointing at times, since I know the dangers of fruit, etc....but I'm finding it very challenging to battle these cravings. It seems that if I allow myself any fruit or dried fruit, my mind/body just want more, more more! This makes me really nervous about reintroduction and wondering whether

That is so frustrating, particularly when you feel like you had some good momentum going - I remember attempting the W30 a few months back and was foiled but a different event, and felt pretty bummed....and eventually got around to thinking that I at least built up my W30 muscle (like with any practice) and got through (arguably) the toughest days of the W30, which is often the first half... So holding the dialectical approach - it sucks...AND you just spent a solid 16-17 days giving a the great gift of nourishment and care to your body!
  4. I'm new too! Today is...day 11 for me...so I don't have too much wisdom to offer .....but I do have support to offer! One thing that has helped me remain excited is to try a new vegetable or dish 1x/week (or more for bonus!) For example, I tried radishes for the first time last week and tonight I'm meal prepping eggplant "steaks". I've found that investing some time and getting excited about researching fun recipes has kept me engaged! Looking forward to following you on your journey!

Tonight is Day 9 for me, and I notice that if I have a meal that isn't "hearty" enough or I don't make it look nice on a plate and sit down like a real human to have a meal (vs. eating while checking email or watching tv), I have cravings to keep snack snack snacking after the "meal" is done - usually going after things like raisins and nuts. Has that happened for anyone? I still feel slightly fatigued, not sure if that's normal for Day 9 - was trying to map it on to the timeline...and am starting to dream more of the foods I'm missing

I love giant salads, and I find myself craving them more now...I am a HUGE fan of canned wild caught sardines (I am waiting for the next Costco deal that they run on the Season Brand Wild Caught Sardines). Sardines are arguably one of the world's healthiest and nutrient dense food sources. I just love them. Fortunately for me I can get by the smell (although I tend to avoid bringing them to work to spare my co-workers). But several handfuls of salad greens topped with sardines, salt, pepper, balsamic, avocado, and olive oil just hits the spot!!! And it takes under 1 minute to prepare....what R

  12. In the event you change your mind, I am a big fan of the TJ's Deli Style Spicy Brown Mustard! Ingredients include: Distilled vinegar, water, mustard seed, salt, spices, tumeric (spice and color). And as far as the weddings, summer is such a hard time because of all the fun events!!! No shame in prioritizing your health for you if that's the right decision, just as you would stick to a promise or commitment to a friend - but I also understand wanting to be present and not worrying about compliant foods in the moment!   13. Haha. This is the exact reason why I have been slipping on my health journey! It's those darn nuts and nut butters - I mean, honestly, who can actually just eat one spoonful of almond butter?????

  15. I'm a sucker for sweets!!! I have a feeling I will be in a similar position, as I have so much difficulty eating "just one". I hope that I will be able to feel more self-confident and empowered by this process. What recommendations do people have to cultivate self-love and address issues with body image?
  16. @C_Cezeaux Glad to hear you've made it through the fatigue! I don't necessarily feel tired, but I don't feel super energized, if that makes sense. Today is Day 5 for me, and it was my first social/family outing. I had a fleeting thought "oh maybe I should join in with everyone for the celebration" and was thankful that my husband was around to support my health decisions and remind me of my goals. Prior to beginning the Whole30, I wasn't eating terribly unhealthy foods, but too much in quantity. I'm still working on the overeating issue - it's only when I'm alone in the home, and I catch mysel
  17. So glad to hear about your experience! I have been trying to do a mindfulness practice before my meals...and I've noticed that I am VERY impatient! Much more than I thought....I constantly peak at the recording to see how much time is left so I can eat my meal...geez sugar dragon!!! What day did you find the sugar dragon starting to calm down? What other pieces of advice do you often provide for newbies? Day 2....almost in the books...!
  18. Today is Day 1 for me, and it's my first time committing to the Whole30! I generally eat healthy foods, but not in a healthy way....dried fruit and dates anyone? Almond butter on dates? Yes, these are the things I know have continued to feed my sugar dragon, which at times feels too big to slay. This is my first time joining the online forum, and I know support has been a big influence over my ability to commit to healthier ways of living, so I am hopeful this community will help me on my quest!
