Today is day 31 for me and I'm still pretty stoked about the whole program. @NoreenM62, @Maggieb123 is right about those Walmart microwave bowls. They don't suck. I add riced cauliflower to them to bulk them up or I'll eat something with them - like maybe a few baby russet potatoes or some green beans. At 'my' Walmart they aren't with the Lean Cuisines, they're on a different aisle with the paleo stuff.
I haven't added any foods back in yet. The first thing will probably be quinoa or possibly oatmeal. I know I'm burnt out on eggs. Congrats to everyone who's finishing up their 30 and good luck to us all - that we can maintain the gains and losses we've made. I lost 9.8 pounds and my mind is blown.

@NoreenM62, @Maggieb123, @Danna W Congratulations on completing your Whole30!! It sounds like you've achieved some amazing NSVs (and SVs)! Congrats again!
Today is my last day and I'm planning to finish strong! I feel good, my skin is clear, I feel in control of my food choices, and I know I've lost weight. All good things!
I, too, don't have a formal plan for reintroductions but will probably just try my hand at this food freedom thing and eat stuff as it comes up and I decide I want it. Has anyone read Food Freedom Forever? I own it but haven't bothered to read it yet...

Hi all. Day 27 for me and I'm very happy with the way I feel. I'm just barely excited about reintroduction. I'm on a good path now and I hesitate to shift anything. I do miss plant proteins though, so I'm thinking one of my first re-introductions will be to replace half my meat with quinoa or something. Thanks to those of you who are posting recipes you like. If you've read my previous posts, you know I don't cook so recommendations help me decide what to try.
I ate out last night for the first time since I started W30. I busted up in a pizza place with my own chicken and salad dressing. Then I ordered a big plate of salad vegetables and had a great dinner. I ate until I was stuffed. I didn't miss the pizza and I didn't mind passing the appetizers without eating any.
Here's an NSV. My bad habits are/were expensive. I've been carrying the same walking around cash with me since I began W30. I'm just not spending it. I haven't been in a convenience store or a drive through since September 1 and it's saving me about $60 a week. Sometimes more. Based on that, I can't really complain about relatively expensive salad dressings or the price of ghee or any such things.

Hi all. Day four for me. I want to take a moment to be still and dwell upon how much I truly love my dishwasher. The part in the book about "Who's going to do all these dishes" speaks to me. As the queen of microwave meals - who's trying to abdicate - I usually just have a pile of forks to wash. Not complaining, this is my idea of funny.
In four days I've already started a little list of NSVs. At the top, I haven't had a Prilosec in four days. I'm so stoked.
@nrmoody415 I haven't felt bad either and I'm on my first Whole30. I was also afraid I was doing something wrong so I spent considerable time looking up every ingredient I'd used to make sure I wasn't smurfing this up. Maybe it's going to hit me later, but I feel great right now.

Hi @heb2014, good to see you back on here. @kirbz I'm with you on that convenience food habit. My biggest concern when I finish my W30 is that my eating plan will creep back to the dark side one microwaved meal at a time. I'll just have to be diligent. WAY more diligent than I was today at Kroger. I had a close call. I found Primal Kitchen salad dressings on sale this morning and I got so excited I bought the honey mustard kind. I had the cap off before HONEY registered in my mind and luckily I hadn't poured it all over dinner yet. Duh. I look forward to eating some early in October. lol. I'm beginning to get used to cooking though and I'm getting better at planning my meals ahead. This is good.

@Danna W Congrats on reaching the halfway mark! That's a big milestone! And you have some amazing NSVs. It's wonderful that you feel like this is sustainable!
That's always been the biggest hurdle for me. I like the food and I like the way it makes me feel, but I'm very accustomed to convenience foods. So all this planning and meal prep and dishes is a hard adjustment! But I've focused on simplicity this round and am feeling more confident about life after Whole30. :-)
Thanks for checking in! It's nice to hear from others along their journey!

Hi all. Day 8's been good. My energy is better so maybe I'm through the worst of it. I spent quite a bit of time today in the W30 cookbook and picked out some things this non-cook can cook. Got menus together for the work week coming up. And the Cowboys are winning. lol. I'm in a good place to launch my week. We're almost 1/3 of the way through our 30 - - we got this. I think I'm channeling my inner cheerleader or something.

Holy. Cow. New friends, I hit the wall today - my day five. My body is lookin' for cookies and stuff. That's okay. This is what the program said would happen, so I'm taking it as a sign that Whole30 is doing what I need done. I'm happy. This is a step onto a better path.

I struggle with salad dressing too @nrmoody415. So far my most palatable concoction is EVOL, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and [lots of] garlic. My salads almost always have a little fruit in them and that bit of sweetness helps me. What I'd like to do is work some ACV into the dressing, but I just can't make that work yet. I'm with @kirbz. Like the book says, come up with something that doesn't try to replicate anything else. I like fruit vinaigrettes. The other day I tried to make something out of EVOL, ACV, and strawberries. That was truly vile. Don't do that.

"Cookies and stuff"  Oh man, can I relate.  I LOVE cookies and stuff.  Anything with sugar and a quick hit to my blood sugar level--mmmm!  Today is Day 5 for me as well, my headache has subsided and I feel good.

I totally get the reason for the SWYPO and I think it will have to be applied slightly differently from person to person. If you're recreating non-Whole30 food I'm not sure you're learning everything that's here to learn. Its the difference in loving something new and being disappointed for a month by something that fails to mimic an old favorite. Someone already mentioned that in this thread. I'm definitely too new to give others advice, but I've been failing to recreate things I shouldn't eat for about 40 years. I finally stepped away from that particular disappointment.
I love using riced cauliflower. The different ways it can taste are limitless and it adds to the plate so that meals are visually appealing. The thing is that when I use cauliflower, I'm just eating cauliflower. I'm not trying to get it to pretend to be rice or mashed potatoes. The convenience is the big seller for me. Off-roading, I am the queen of microwave dinners. (A practice I hope to change on Whole30.) That's the biggest adjustment for me. I have to cook. I know fresh is better than frozen, but I can buy a big sack of riced cauliflower (the only ingredient) in steamable bags at Sam's and I can add a serving of it to something I actually cooked. Practically effortlessly. The meal looks bigger, the cauliflower adds texture, its a real go-to for me.

Thank you. I ate a couple of the Great Value dinners yesterday when I had a raging sinus headache. They're good and they work for adding more servings of vegetables into their good sauces and seasonings. They probably kept me from failing on Day 2. lol

Vegetables are vegetables. As long as you're eating them, whole30 doesn't care what form they came in. You can use fresh or frozen or even canned, or pickled or fermented, as long as you eat lots of vegetables. Just check your ingredients and make sure there's no non-whole30 stuff added.
There are some compliant microwave dinners available from Walmart, their Great Value brand. I haven't tried them, but I hear they're okay. While we certainly encourage you to cook, there's nothing wrong with keeping a few dinners like that on hand for days when you're too tired to cook, or when that recipe that sounded simple turns out to be a three hour ordeal and you really need to eat right now.
