    By the time I scoop it out of the pan, it looks more like an omelette!  So I'm going to call it a Banana Omelette

    Was thinking today - so grateful that I did W30 during Quarantine, as otherwise, I may have "eaten my way through it"!
    I most likely would have gained wt and been miserable!
    Instead, with lovely W30, I LOST wt, felt healthy, happy, full & satisfied, and DELIGHTED to have a plan and
     PATH to follow that's SUSTAINABLE!

    Over last weekend, I wrote a review for the Whole30 book:
    "Yes, it looks daunting! But it turned out to be a WONDERFUL experience! I thought about it a month or so before I was ready to commit. Finally, I chose a day to begin & began preparation & gathering supplies.

    The Good News is that after Day 4, like many, I started to feel better & cravings began to lessen. By Day 10 for me, a sense of WELL BEING kicked in and the rest of the Journey was a pleasure, for the most part. By day 10, I had NO interest in off limit foods, and was enjoying really good food.

    Tip - the day before starting, make the (easy) W30 Mayo & make a chicken salad w/ that & celery. I served mine with toasted almonds, lettuce & grapes. So good. Keeping this on hand really helps the Journey! Keeping homemade chili on hand helped also. So good with avocado.

    Also, I can't face eggs for breakfast, so I had half a baked sweet potato. ***And there is approved W30 BACON! *** YES!

    For dinner - any kind of roast works & you can have mashed potatoes with ghee! Heaven! Or roasted potatoes. Or hash browns! Also loved sides of french green beans with spring onion, cucumbers in vinegar , squash & sliced tomatoes. Also slaw, tossed salad & Spinach Salad.

    For snacks - most RX bars are approved - so good that I have to make myself limit to just one a day!
    Also like melon wrapped w/ a compliant prosciutto .

    Smoothies aren't encouraged on W30, but I had one w/ coconut water, banana, apple & berries w/ COLLAGEN, almost every day. I need Collagen for joint health & this is a great way to take it.

    There are W30 ketchup & salad dressings you can buy also. The W30 website has lots of Sources listed.
    // So once you get into, its really Not that hard - and SO . WORTH . IT !

    Then after the 30 days, the cherry on top is the TESTING Phase, where you actually get to sort out which food groups cause reactions that make you feel bad.

    After testing a food group, you go back to W30 for 2 days or so & then test another! That's why the W30 Journey is SO WORTH IT!

    On DAY 29 = had my first RX BAR - cHOCOLATE SEA SALT - OMGOSH! Sooo good -- & compliant!! 
      Now why is this "candy bar-like" treat okay & not the healthy banana/ egg dish?? Again, I'm viewing that as an omelette!

    This is my 1st Whole 30 & I’m pretty nervous about it. I’ve tried many different “diets” & exercise plans without good results. I keep feeling worse & worse, getting weaker, sicker, & fatter. I guess I’ve finally hit bottom & I’m sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I’m hoping I can make positive/healthy changes in my life & stick with them. I just want to be healthy & strong so I can do the things I want to do. Thank you for this opportunity and the support. I’ll need it. Good luck to everyone embarking on the Whole 30.

    Just wanted to say thank you for posting this; I am not much of a cook so my culinary expedition during W30 has been zero, mostly it’s about getting restaurants to make slight changes to things to pull them into compliance.
    Between that and the meal service though doesn’t have your creativity and flair, and I really like the half and half option with HelloFresh that is a trick I am going to use whenever I do find time to experiment with cooking which it something I have been meaning to do for years.
    Anyway many congrats on the completion, I’ve already basically decided to take a slight cheat day and then kicking off Round 2 May 2nd.  Trying to undo decades of neglect is going to take a while haha.

    O My Goodness - forgot to post that I lost 7 lbs & almost 5" overall doing W30 
    That is a GOOD result for me, b/c I would do Wt Watchers EXACTLY & drink the Ocean of water suggested 
    &
    Lost ONE POUND a MONTH!! // 1/4 lb per WEEK !  
    With such little reward for mountains of EFFORT, it simply wasn't sustainable to continue the extraordinary focus required. 
    NEVER AGAIN!! 
    And now, I have a real opportunity / window to find out what foods make me feel good and the ones that I react to adversely.

Honestly didn't know if I was up to it!  Something magical happened in the second week A Zone of Peace, Joy & little to no cravings kicked in!   And actually wanting the W30 choices, whereas I had thought I would just be enduring the whole thing!  —- Will be nice afterwards not to have the anxiety hanging over about messing up & upsetting the W30 apple cart, but   I can see how it would be good for me to basically stick to it after testing ...   And no worries if I go off a little-    Thinking I would let Sunday be a day to have whatever I may want...     But basically try to stick to it otherwise -- with God's help! ___________________________________________________________________________    The secret to success on W30 is to BE IN quarantine the whole time ___________________________________________________________________________

It seems the food group you choose is eaten at every meal / snack in some form.    Then you do two days of W30 before trying the next group.    I think I will do Dairy first, since I saw the Jeni brand ice cream recently. it's sooo good!  & Brie with pears  maybe Parm chicken [w/ W30 Mayo] melted cheese / pimento cheese  Loaded baked potato - butter / cheese / sour cream —- Sugars Then will try Agave with tea & BAI with the sugar alcohols. & Poppi drink w/ sugar/vinegar   Then GRAINS -  grits / rice / cornbread/ corn chips / taco    Sandwich / bread  Croissant/ English muffin/ waffles    Then LEGUMES -  Dales sauce (soy) / Helmanns mayo peanuts / pnb  5 guy fries (peanut oil) or potato chips  Field peas / Lima’s w/ sweet tomato sauce ______________________________________________________

    2/3 of the way there!  I love that you are starting to think about your reintro plan.  Definitely have a plan! And a plan for foods the few days after.  I found certain foods made me crave all the foods like a mad person.  If I hadn’t had a plan in place I may have never recovered my first round of reintro.  Keep up the good work and finish strong.

    Hi Lizzie!
    Actually, it's been very helpful to do this during quarantine - much less temptation from eating out & being social!
    We receive 2 to 3 meals/week from HelloFresh during this time.  I adapt the recipes to fit W30 & just save things like the rice packets for after W30. But this way, we're assured of having chicken on hand - when the grocery store was out. Their ground beef is also delicious! 
    I've gone to town once/week. Yesterday, I noticed all the bacon was sold out -- but the W30 compliant was almost untouched, so that was great! Chuck roast has not been available, so I splurged & bought beef short ribs last week. A real treat during this time & so good w/ mashed potatoes! Here, steak has been available so far.
    Sometimes, I've had to go to 2 different stores, but I've been able to buy sweet potatoes, potatoes, onion, cabbage, squash, carrots, celery, tomato, parsley/cilantro,  eggs, Nut Pod cream,[which I love], oranges, apples, bananas, mango, berries, grapes, avocado, lemon & lime, coconut milk & almond nut butter.
    Some things are also on Amazon, like ghee & coconut water.
    I'm just about to write in my Blog  how PEACEFUL & UPLIFTED I've felt - starting in the middle of the second week.  The first week was the hardest part, as I've never done W30 before & didn't have enough prep done ( like having chicken salad ready etc) ... but by the second week, it a lot easier & then the sense of well being kicked in, probably on Day 10. I've been very peaceful about everything & especially the issue of food/eating.  In this "zone", cravings are not an issue - don't really want any of the bad things & am enjoying these truly delicious meals*. Hope this helps!  
    I'm not an egg person, so I have half baked sweet potato w/ nut pot vanilla cream, coffee, bacon & a dab of 0 sugar fig jam. Look forward to it every day!
    I've allowed some things that aren't against the rules, but aren't encouraged either - but they are indulgent and keep me happy!
    (like the fig jam; an after dinner "cordial" sometimes of half grape juice / half coconut water; & sometimes for breakfast, I make a Banana "crepe" w/ bacon. (Paleo recipe of just banana & eggs blended together + vanilla & cinnamon) , cooked w/ Ghee. 
    My goal in W30 is not to get out of the habit of ever having/ enjoying dessert & yummy things, so I don't mind doing these small tweaks.
    & B/c of digestive health, I also have a fruit/veggie Smoothie w/ Collagen in the afternoon.

    I’d love to hear your opinion about doing this during quarantine! I am highly considering joining the worldwide Whole30 on April 13 but I have to say I am super nervous. My biggest two fears are (1) the grocery stores will not have exactly what I want and will throw me off plan and (2) I’ve had such high anxiety levels that adding a Whole30 might make a bad situation even more stressful. Do you have any input as far as your experience with these? It looks like you’ve been doing great!! You’ve knocked out the hardest part!!
