  1. I love cooking and eating dal, and I've had to say goodbye to most varieties for the sake of Whole30. And possibly after, once I start testing the impact lentils have on my whole system, not just my taste buds...well, I'm not going to think about that yet. I can still make chana dal, thank goodness -- yellow split peas, Indian-style. But I'm wondering if I can make dal from pigeon peas and black-eyed peas, in their whole and/or split forms? I didn't grow up eating this food and this isn't my heritage at all, so I only know about these foods from cookbooks and the internet. For example, he
