    Not sure what portions you are eating besides your half of an apple.

    Also, do you work out? A mini meal after might be good.

    Thank you so much, @Aliem999! Also, I hope you feel better soon! I really appreciate it. Good to know about the raw veggies. I'm trying to increase my portions overall, but it's just hard to have enough time and energy to cook so much food. Still, I'm planning to do a Whole40, since my joint aches and pains haven't gone away (they've kind of gotten worse), to see if I just need a bit longer. 

    Big congrats to everyone who has finished the program!!! Cheers to all of you!!! Anyone have any Tiger Blood (catching up on posts now)??

  2. Hi All, hope everyone is doing okay! Exciting to hear about all the NSVs - that's awesome! Congrats to everyone! 

    I've just started Day 21. I felt really good the first week, then I got my period which kind of took me out, and now, for the last week, I've been having headaches every day and am really tired at night. And I find I'm still getting hungry between meals. I'm trying to eat as much as I can, and to eat potatoes for carbs and fat at every meal, but it sometimes still doesn't feel like enough. I already spend 30 mins eating my meal each time (way more than I used to before Whole30, lol!), so I feel like it's enough food. I also don't have more than 30 mins to spend on meals. But maybe I need to add more?

    Does anyone have any advice? I know the headaches and tiredness might also be work stress and sitting in front of a computer all day. But I want to know if I'm missing anything. Here's what I ate yesterday: 

    • Breakfast: sausage, potato, kale, onion with avocado and 1/2 apple and some oil on top 
    • Lunch: Brussel sprout slaw with shrimp, avocado, other veggies, and 1/2 apple 
    • Dinner: salad from Sweet Green - mixed two salads together to have a mixed green salad with tomatoes, avocado, chicken, mixed greens, and kale with oil dressing and a side of sweet potatoes

    I think what's really going on is I feel so tied to my meals now. I notice that once I start to eat, my headache will go away and I'll feel more energized. But, in between, those symptoms come back. On the plus side, this is making me see how important fueling my body really is!!! 

    Maybe I just need more sleep ... 

    Here are some of the victories I've had: feeling more energized when I wake up and at work, more focused during the work day, feeling lighter/like I've lost some weight, allergies less strong, enjoying cooking and feeling very confident making all these healthy meals for myself!

  3. Hi! How is everyone doing? 

    Just finished Day 3 here, and struggled with some nausea this morning, but eating some sweet potato (per the forum!) helped. I think not eating enough might also be causing nausea, maybe going too long between lunch and dinner. Usually I eat breakfast around 8:30 am and then lunch at 12 or 1 pm. But then, don't eat dinner till 7 pm. So, I get super hungry before dinner. And then start to fill up really quickly. Going to try to move up my dinner time. 

    It's weird, I'm not having many cravings, but not really looking forward to my Whole30 meals, same as @itskatiegirl11 I think my body is still adjusting to eating this much meat and so many savory dishes. Anyway, I know it's only the beginning. Hoping I will find the food more appealing as I go.

  4. Hi Everyone, 

    I'm a bit late to the party, but I'm chiming in to say, this is my first Whole30 - I started today! And, to send good energy and lots of strength to everyone doing the Whole30 this month! You got this! 

    I meant to start on January 3rd, but got a massive neck muscle spasm on NYE, preventing me from doing any real meal prep for about a week. I was finally able to shop and prep yesterday and hit the ground running today! 

    I'm nervous, but mainly excited for this and all the potential Whole30 has. I've been suffering from multiple long-term injuries since 2019. I've tried everything to tackle the pain I've experienced since then - physical therapy, MRIs, orthotics, new shoes, multiple doctors, and the list goes on. I've had so much wonderful help along the way, but nothing has been able to rid me of the persistent pain in my feet and knees, which has prevented me from running (I did cross country in high school and have done 3 half marathons), dancing (I love dancing bachata), and doing all high-impact sports without pain since my first injury in 2019. The one thing I haven't tried is working on my diet. So, my doctor recommended the Whole30. I'm so looking forward to seeing how it might reduce my pain and even get me running again. And help prevent injuries, which I seem so prone (i.e., neck spasm). 

    And all that aside, my body is demanding this regardless. It felt so good to eat so many veggies today (I've really been starving my body of them), and I'm glad to have this wake up call to realizing how poorly I was nourishing my body. 

    I would love to check in and support everyone else on the thread and in the community as we go!
