I accidentally bought some coconut milk with guar gum. I ordered it from Amazon.com before I knew that my local asian market had Aroy-D for 1.49 a can. I had had the exact same brand (Thai Kitchen organic) from my grocery store (ridic expensive) and it had no guar gum! Grr.
Anyway, I will go ahead and use it because y'all have said guar gum is OK, but WHY is guar gum OK, when other similar thickeners (carrageenan) are off limits? Guar gum is made from guar beans, which are a legume. Carrageenan is made from red seaweeds. Xanthan gum is produced by xanthomonas bacteria fermenting sugars. They're all medium chain polysaccharides. Is it because carrageenan is sulfated?

Leaf mold? I was so happy when the Whole30 massively knocked back my allergies, but fall seems to have brought a little congestion that's independent of what I'm eating.
Not every allergen is a food.

I am pretty sure that gnawing type of hunger has to do with addiction-type signals you are getting from either wheat or sugar. Once you adapt to Whole30, it kinda goes away. I had been subject to that for years and always thought it was weird. Hunger is much milder and more rational when you're eating the right things.

You have no starchy veggies in there and only one piece of fruit. You do need some carbs! I usually have a sweet potato with one of my meals (lunch or dinner) and that does the trick.

I was going to take a picture of this but actually it's kind of gross. It's like Eraserhead 2 up in there.

I just told people that I was trying an elimination diet to see if I could clear up some allergies. No one said a thing. I work with scientists and everyone's pretty edumacated and down with the concept of experimenting, and we've already got a couple of people in our department with diagnosed celiac so people are used to this stuff. YMMV, but, I think "my doctor recommended I try this" tends to shut that stuff down, and if you start talking about wanting to put an end to your humiliating tribulations with diarrhea, no one will ask you anything about it ever again

I hate guar gum, so I always try to score some Aroy-D brand when I can. Trader Joe's "lite" coconut milk (green cans) is also free of additives. Try the asian markets in your area instead of the upscale chains. Guar gum free coconut milk is a little lumpier, but the improvement in taste is worth it.

Mae Ploy brand. As far as I can tell from the labels they are clean. You can get them from Amazon if you can't find them in stores near you.

I've got some good friends who are vegetarian plus fish. Their diet is about the closest I can imagine to what a vegetarian "Whole30" equivalent would be; they buy everything locally grown, home prepare almost all their food from whole ingredients. They don't eat added sugar, flour, or legumes; they do add small amounts of non-gluten whole grains (think corn in a salad or a little quinoa in your soup) and they do eat high-quality locally-sourced dairy. They seem to be thriving eating that way and have had similar outcomes re: weight loss and improved blood profiles as people report on Whole30.
I don't think you can be vegetarian and follow the Whole30, especially if you don't tolerate legumes because as-written that's one of the things you can eat, but you can come up with a set of rules for yourself in the same spirit.
