  1. Yellow mung dal (shelled and split yellow mung beans) seems an awful lot like peas, so I'm wondering whether this is an exception to rule against legumes. Ayurveda considers mung beans a highly digestible protein source, and they are a major component of kitchari, which is a staple of an Ayurvedic diet (and of Ayurvedic cleanses).
