Starting my W30 journey March 18!

I'm restarting the Whole30 today as well! I fell off the wagon on Day 14 last time and never recovered. I have felt miserable ever since and am excited to be starting today and get my energy back! Good luck to you!!!

Made it to day 12 and coming up on my second weekend!! I forgot to set an alarm last night so never woke up for CrossFit this morning before work I'm bummed. On the menu for today: I had 3 eggs fried in coconut oil for breakfast. For lunch I have some hot and spicy sausages from a local butcher that I'm going to fry up with some onion, mushrooms, bell pepper and jalapeno. Haven't figured out dinner yet though. I going to the Arnold Classic this weekend in Columbus, OH and will have to avoid all the free samples! I have a grocery list of things to make/bring with me so that I'm full and have no temptation to take any of their protein bars/shakes/etc. So far on the list I have sweet potato hummus, fresh veggies, hard boiled eggs, kale chips, and maybe some fresh fruit and homemade nut butter. (I'm going to be there/away from home for 2 days and it's going to be a fairly long drive.) Anybody else have any suggestions for what I can take with me? Have a great weekend everyone!

Day 11 here and still going strong! I honestly am really no longer craving bread or pasta what so ever anymore. My husband has even had bagels in the house with cream cheese and I don't even feel tempted. Cutting out sugar has also made fruit taste even sweeter to me already. It's insane, I never expected to notice a change in my cravings/taste so fast! I still miss cheese though, I don't think I'll ever get over that... what I wouldn't give for a big ol' wheel of brie! Yum! I'm pretty hungry this morning though and am probably going to have to take an early lunch break so I can go home and eat. That's only because I woke up late this morning so I didn't have time to cook my usual eggs and veggies for breakfast. The only thing I had on hand that I could just grab and go this morning was an apple and a handful of olives. It did the trick for a little while but my stomach is already growling! I'm literally salivating over the leftover blackened chicken and garlic roasted broccoli and cauliflower sitting in my fridge at home just waiting for me. lol Keep up the great work everybody!! Those of you that are almost done are doing awesome!! You are a great motivator to those of us who have just started or are closing in on the halfway point!

Made it to Day 10! I'm finding already that my "cravings" are slowly diminishing. There are still some foods that I would love to sink my teeth into (CHEESE!!) but am resisting. Mostly I'm finding as long as the food isn't near me, I have no problem resisting it. On the menu for dinner tonight: "Blackened" Chicken with Garlic Roasted Broccoli.. yum!!

Haha, my husband is almost the exact same, only he'll eat "my food" too! The other day I had to yell out of him to stay out of my snacks. He has bagels and potato chips and every other junk food that I could possibly crave and then wants to eat up my veggies and nuts too! lol

I MADE IT THROUGH MY FIRST WEEKEND!!! I cannot even begin to describe to you how happy and proud I am of that fact. Never, in my life, have I ever made it through a weekend with no cheats. No matter what "diet" or healthy eating plan I may be following, I have never had the will power to do it. I turned down drinking alcohol, even though I was around friends who were drinking.. I sipped my water. I turned down pizza even thought it is my absolute favorite food. I turned down Cherry Coke and popcorn even though my husband was eating and drinking it right next to me in the movie theater. I even ordered a chicken breast, steamed veggies and fresh fruit when we went out to dinner. I have finally found my will power!! I am on Day 8 and feel fantastic!! I sleep great, I have so much energy through the day, and I'm able to power through my WOD's much easier than I anticipated. (I JUST got back into CrossFit and was a little nervous.) The Whole30 is already changing my life. If this continues to get easier with each day, I can definitely see this becoming my lifestyle! 23 more days to go here (counting today). Keep pushing through everybody! We've got this!

Happy Friday to you!! I've tried the chocolate chili before and it is delicious! I added some hot peppers to mine though to kick it up. It's really good over a baked sweet potato! I'm on Day 5 and coming up on my first weekend. I am incredibly nervous, but I know I can do it. I just need to go to the store and stock up on some Whole30 approved foods so I'm not tempted by whatever junk my husband is eating.

I'm only on Day 5 and can already see myself getting sick of eggs before this is over. Today I decided to try a smoothie for breakfast and see if that kept me full like eggs do. The smoothie consisted of: 1 cup of water, a handful of ice, 2 handfuls of spinach, juice of 1 lemon, a small chunk of ginger, 2 stalks of kale (stems removed), a banana, 1/2 of a cucumber and half an avocado blended together. I was a little nervous about it but it is surprisingly delicious! There are so many good-for-you things in it, but all I taste really is the cucumber, lemon and a hint of ginger. I also am eating a handful of olives for some added fat. The recipe made enough for about 1 1/2 glasses and I am full after only about half of it!

Thanks! It's definitely taken some time to get to this point. But I also know, if I ever want a chance to try again I need to be the healthiest I can be!

    Intro- My First Whole30!

Hello everyone! I started my first Whole30 on Monday, February 18, 2013! That puts me at Day 4 and feeling great so far! A little back story on me.. I just recently got married June 30th of last year. Leading up to our wedding I was able to lose 40lbs doing CrossFit and following a Paleo diet! I gain weight extremely easily (If I have one "cheat" meal and/or drink alcohol I'm up close to 5lbs the next day) and after our all-inclusive honeymoon I began gaining some of that back. On top of that, shortly after our honeymoon I found out that I was pregnant and found it even harder to get motivated to get back to my paleo lifestyle. A little forewarning, this is about to get depressing but it's fact and I'm okay with openly talking about it now. About 11 weeks into my pregnancy we discovered that our baby had no longer had a heartbeat and we had to have a D&C. At this point I had already gained 30lbs since our wedding between our honeymoon, my constant soda drinking, and bread and pasta eating habits. I entered a state of depression, and all of my family members were constantly stopping by bringing me cupcakes, wine, and other things I really didn't need but very willingly consumed. By the end of December I had gained another 18 pounds.. putting me at the heaviest I've been in my entire life! Back in January, I switched back to a Paleo diet but was not very strict on myself. I'd eat okay during the week and then kill it on the weekend. This had continued to go on up until Monday when I decided enough was enough! I'm ready to kick this weight, get back to being healthy and am thankful for finding the Whole30 to help me do it! I joined a "bootcamp" work out class back in January and today is the last day. Now that it's over and I've got some of my endurance back I'm going to be renewing my CrossFit membership. I am so excited for my Whole30 journey and can't wait to see how I'm feeling when it's over! Thanks for reading. Any other Day 4 W30ers out there?
