Here is a link to the roast recipe... http://everydaypaleo.com/smokey-roast/ I don't like coffee so I omitted that but it was by far the BEST roast I have ever made, and super easy! I bought a julienne peeler tonight I can't wait to try it out, and I am off to by whole 30 approved bacon now Yay! I am really starting to get excited about all the fun food options. The hardest part is eating non breakfast items for breakfast

Can you order compliant bacon online? When I googled USwellness a few different sites pop up I was curious which is the correct website? Thanks for the help!

Almcc - I agree I have the same cravings. I think that the only reason I am thinking about foods like bread and soda is because I have told myself that I can't have them I just wish my mind would stop thinking about those things that I can't have. Also, I want to try Zoodles.... did you use a Julienne peeler to make them or a food processor. I am wondering which would work better and be quicker! Right now I am addicted to my smokey roast with carrots that came out of the crock pot. I have never before made such a juicey fall apart in your hand roast

Almcc - I am hanging in there. I have been following this log which has been helpful but I haven't wanted to post lately. I have been having a rough few days with depression and such. I think I still have waves of grief and I was hoping that eating this way would help me cope with it Thanks for checking up tho! Dennys522 - I am always feeling like I am constantly failing too! Especially with the cravings. If I finish this whole 30 I think this will be the first time I have successfully completed anything with changing my eating habits. My Biggest issue is with cravings. I don't think I am particularly craving like I was when I was pregnant (where it feels like the craving is coming from my body) but I am craving in my mind. My mind just wont let go of wanting what I am telling myself I can't have (its almost like I am rebelling against myself). But, Spring is coming and I am hoping the weather stays nice so that I don't have to be cooped up at home during the weekends! Thank you guys for all your inspirational posts and if you have any suggestions on how to deal with cravings or over come them I would really like to hear them!

Can you really cook sausage patties from frozen.

SLW600: Thank you so much! I will definitely have to try this

Can you really cook sausage patties from frozen.

Do you cook them in ball form like meat balls? or do you let them thaw and flatten before cooking? Do you have a recipe that tastes and works well? I am missing sausage

I am still chugging along and finding my cravings are getting easier and easier with each passing day. Easter was not a big deal for us since we are not near family and my husband had to work. However, a co-worker brought chocolate covered macadamia nuts to work from her recent trip to Hawaii. I am steering clear but it is hard since I love them....! I am so glad to read that everyone is doing so well. Happy Eating!

What are your favorite paleo books?

Casey - Have your read "the Paleo solution" by Robb Wolf? I have also read "Paleo for idiots" and Sarah Fergusons "Everyday Paleo". They are pretty interesting. Happy Reading!

    Coconut Butter

The could be the problem. I only did a cup of coconut. I will have to try the whole bag and see what happens! Thanks Tom! I will keep the coconut oil in mind if this next batch comes out course again!
  11. You can just eat Ghee?? I thought you could only cook with it.... the joys of enlightenment!

    Coconut Butter

did you add anything to it? Coconut oil or anything to make it smooth? I am thinking I am missing something... or maybe not enough coconut. Any advise?
  13. Has anyone had success in making their own coconut butter? I tried to make it and instead of coming out smooth it was very course. I spent about 20 mins on it in the food processor. I am wondering if I needed to add more shredded coconut or if there was something that I was leaving out. All I did was put 1 cup of shredded coconut in a food processor and process while scraping the sides down often.

dennys522: you should check out the book well fed. Its great for some recipes and there is a variety in there also. I have found that if you follow the paleo blogs you tend to find recipes that they have tried or other interesting recipes from people they follow. However, its alot of searching on the internet.

I have started today, last night I really took a moment and tried to identify why I want to do this and create goals. The biggest goal/reason I came up with is that I want to regain control over my eating and food habits, I don't want to turn to food every-time I get stressed. If anyone has some great stress reliever ideas I would love to hear them. This past year has been nothing but stress and I lost my control with food and gained about 70 lbs in a year. s&jSwones: my night was awful! I can't believe that the foods I ate affected me that way. I couldn't sleep at all. I am excited to see what I will get out of the next 30 days. My food today is: Breakfast: sweet potato hash with ground turkey, 1 egg, herbal loose leaf tea Lunch: Ground beef mixture with squash, onion, and a tomato cooked in coconut oil Dinner: spaghetti Squash and spaghetti sauce If I need snacks I have: 1/4 of a raw pepper and a small apple with 1 tbs. Almond butter Good luck today!
