  1. PCOS??

I was diagnosed with PCOS in January 2012 after a 50-lb weight loss (with Weight Watchers) did nothing to regulate my periods. (I went from every once in awhile, to none). I was on birth control for awhile, then stopped because I didn't like the way it made me feel. My doctor wasn't very helpful (read: not at all), so I did my own research and read many articles saying that Paleo, or at least grain free, was the way to go. I did my first W30 starting in April 2013, and I was able to lose some weight even though I was already close to the "healthy" weight for my height. However, I am hoping to do a Whole 100, or some longer duration, to see if that will regulate my cycles, as the W30 I finished just made it weird again. Best of luck to you!
  2. Best Storage Containers

My favorite containers are my Ziploc divided containers. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Ziploc-Divided-Container-Rectangle/dp/B002LFLYT8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1371044032&sr=8-2&keywords=ziploc+divided+container But you can also find them at any Walmart, etc. My favorite part? You can put a liquid (like a dip or something) in one of sections, adn it won't leak into the others!
  3. Summertime = corn on the cob?!

I've found that while my body doesn't take well to canned corn, it can digest fresh corn on the cob as long as I don't binge on it. Just my experience... good luck!
  4. I made a guacamole last week that didn't have tomatoes- just avocado, red onion, mango, and a hot pepper. You could also use an avocado as your binder in a chicken salad. My current favorite is chicken, grapes, nuts (whatever kind I have on hand), celery, and smashed avocado to hold it all together. I also eat avocados plain half of the time as part of my meal, but they're also great mixed in right before you finish scrambling eggs, or as a sort of condiment with any skillet hash you might whip up. I've tried the baked eggs in avocado recipe before, and I would just tell you to be wary. Mine was a major flop (each time I tried it), because my regular sized eggs were apparently so large that I had to hollow the avocados out to the point where there was barely any avocado left.
  5. Sudden Breakouts

    Great, thanks!
  6. Sudden Breakouts

I've been doing a HB egg with some nuts up until this point. Should I be having coffee then, or just try to choke down a few sips of coconut milk? Usually, the first water I get each day is maybe half a glass while getting ready and then some more during my workout.
  7. Sudden Breakouts

I haven't really increased my almond intake, but I have started eating other nuts that I normally didn't (cashews, etc). I guess for my final week, I'll lay off of the nuts as much as I can and see what happens. Any ideas for a Pre-WO meal fat that isn't nuts but that is still easy to stomach/tolerate at 5 a.m.?
  8. Sudden Breakouts

I started my last period on day 1 of the W30, so I don't think that's it. My cycles are usually pretty long/irregular (I have PCOS). I started the W30 with zits, and they disappeared within the first week, but now it's like I'm going through round 2. Could it be my body's reaction to detoxing?
  9. I'm on day 19 of my first W30, and in the past few days my face has experienced a huge breakout. I went from mostly clear skin to 8 or 9 large, painful zits overnight. I have no idea why this has happened- any advice?
  10. Afternoon Sleepiness

I have also experienced this problem (both in rehearsals and classes), and I've honestly just attributed it to the time of year. If you're a student, that may be your answer.
  11. Singer's Saving Grace?

I'm a voice major, and my usual go-to when I can feel my voice starting to go is Singer's Saving Grace. Does anyone know if it's W30 approved? I'd hate to ruin my W30 over a few sprays. (I'm on day 11)
  12. I'm finishing up day 8 of my first Whole 30, and I have what is probably a pretty stupid question: This morning, I hurt my hand, and will be unable to workout for at least the rest of the week. I'm frustrated that I won't get to do Crossfit (which is something that I love), but I'm also paranoid that I won't be seeing the results from the Whole 30, since I have to take at least this week off, and then my workout opportunities seem to always disappear during the last week of classes and finals (which are next week and the following week). Am I going to be missing out? I normally Crossfit 5 days a week, so I'll be going from that + walking on campus (which can be up to a mile from car to class and vice versa) to just my walking on campus. Any help for this worrywart?
