    Aha little scobies running around the kitchen, playing with your spice jars and messing around. 
     
    Or you can just pour pure booch in a big jar and store it in the fridge to slow down the fermentation. When you would like to flavor - take it out and do the usual routine.

    Yay meg!  Before you know it, you'll have baby scoobies taking over your kitchen.
     
    Haven't posted a pic in a while, here is tonight's work:
     

     
    1 batch white, 1 batch green.  Now I have to drink it like mad to free up a few bottles for the big jar full of black!

    Gin and gingerade to the rescue. Yum.
    New scoby is already on its way. Maybe I'll end up with more booch than I can drink!

    I just tasted the tea from growing Scooby. It was delicious!! I read online that you can actually use your first batch if you don't mind the flavor, so I bottled it. I'll keep you posted!

    Not grossed out to touch it, but tasting the tea will be a challenge.  I smelled it last night and it was interesting to say the least.  Earl Grey is such a specific smell, and it's pretty much gone. 
     
    I will start brewing tonight!  Best Friday night plans I've had in a while!  :)

    Meg, the SCOBY is stronger than you would think.  I typically place mine on a plate with some tea from the jar poured over it while I bottle.  Then I can slide it back in after I have added the fresh tea to the jar.  I highly doubt it will rip or break as long as you are slightly careful.  And yea, fresh tea and sugar will do lovely things for it!
     
    BTW Nadia, yes I have done the SCOBY mask thingy but no I have not been doing it for ages.  I love the effects but hate using a baby for it!  I use it as a special treat every once in awhile

    That happened to me during my W30 with the store bought stuff.  Only I liked it.

    Good Sunday morning Booch brewers!
     
    Last night I had my watermelon/lime/mint:
     

     
    How do I describe this one?  It tasted nothing like any of the ingredients, but it was very good.  I have to say - this one really tasted like an alcoholic beverage of sorts!
     
    I bottled some more yesterday; I am still keeping it pretty simple.
     
    dried cherries/vanilla
    Black cherry (another concentrate)/vanilla
    Apricot/ginger (I should have added cardamom darn it!)
    and more gingerberry and trilogy.
     
    Seriously loving walking passed the booch in the store!

    I am thinking of buying a big jar with a spigot to make bottling easier, and keeping my glass gallon jar for my hotel.  Does this sound about right?
     
    And yes...I don't even have a grown scoby and I'm talking about my hotel.  I have faith.
     
    Where do you get lavender and it what form?

    Has anyone tried garam masala in their booch. I was smelling my spices to try to find something that reminded me of third eye chai, and that was the closest I could find.
    I just realized how ridiculous that would sound anywhere but here.
    Kb-you've put ideas in my head for an Independence Day cocktail!

    So the answer on white tea was that you can brew with it, it's not just for flavoring? As I get closer to starting I think I'm going to go back through this whole topic. There's so much I missed because I wasn't there yet!
    Scooby is progressing nicely. Today is the 10 day mark, thick clear bubbly stuff all over the top. Picture later.

    Beautiful bottles from eeeeeveryone!
     
    Brewing vat of white tea, pale girly SCOBY looks ready to get to work.  Off to shops in a bit with hubster to buy another big jar.  (He announced this morning "Might have to have a bit more kombucha today!" - the progress, it is happening).
