    Tea made with cocoa powder

I did have it yesterday. It was okay. I kind of wish the flavor had been more bold. I let it steep a good few minutes longer than called for, too.

Awesome. That's what I thought, I just wasn't really sure about the cocoa powder. Thanks!

    Tea made with cocoa powder

My co-worker just showed me some tea that she brought in that looks delicious. It's called Numi Organic Chocolate Pu-erh Tea. The ingredients are: ORganic Black Pu-erh Tea, organic Cocoa Powder, organic Vanilla Beans, organic Pooibox, organic Cinnamon, organic Orange Peel, organic Nutmeg. Is this okay on W30?

    Sweet Potatoes

I frequent that blog and her FB page... on the 7th she posted on FB that she'd be out of town, away from all technology for a week. So she probably hasn't even seen that her domain expired! She's crazy active on her site so I'm sure she'll have it resolved as soon as she gets back.

should I track what I eat?

I decided that I wanted to keep track of a few things during my W30 (and possibly beyond). I want to log what I'm eating but also want to track my physical activity, etc. I do CrossFit and martial arts and haven't been able to go all out since March due to a couple of surgeries so now (or in a few weeks, when I am cleared to lift etc. at 100% again) I really want to go all out and get everything back that I lost (and lose what I gained!). I found a pretty cool app for my iPhone and iPad (they sync through the iCloud so that makes it pretty convenient) called My Wonderful Days. It's just a basic journal but has a cool little feature where you use a sliding scale to show, in the form of a smiley face, what kind of day you had, overall. It's a really cute app. The reason I like this is that, unlike the diet trackers, there's no dealing with finding foods, measuring or weighing, tracking calories or macronutrients, etc. All of that drives me crazy and, of course, most of them are going to tell us we are not getting the right macronutrient numbers anyway since they are generally based on SAD diet recommendations. So I just looked for a journal and this one is pretty slick so far!

    Sweet Potatoes

I second this! I cut them in half, coat the cut side with coconut oil, and bake till they are REALLY mushy. OMG amazing. I'm just starting my first W30 today (been eating 80/20 paleo/primal for 2 years, though) and I'm going to limit sweet potatoes to only after my CrossFit WODs or Tough Mudder training sessions.

    Applegate Farms Sunday Bacon

Thanks for the tip, Carolina. Unfortunately we have pretty crappy options in Tampa, FL. There's not even a decent butcher anywhere nearby.

    Applegate Farms Sunday Bacon

US Wellness is still out of stock on the bacon but I just placed an order for a couple sausages that have no sugar, etc. as well as the sugar-free bacon ends. I figure that will work out just fine!

    Applegate Farms Sunday Bacon

Dangit, US Wellness Meats and your out of stock sugar-free bacon!! Anywhere else this can be ordered besides them? I want my weekend bacon treat! I'm commited to doing this thing 100%, though, so if I can't get the right stuff, I'll stick it out. I'll just complain a lot, lol

    Applegate Farms Sunday Bacon

I've been eating paleo/primal at a rate of about 80/20 for the last 2 years. Monday I plan on doing my first Whole 30. I've been eating this bacon pretty regularly. I plan to limit my bacon during my W30 to just the weekends unless a recipe calls for some just as a complimentary ingredient. I've never had the US Wellness bacon and wanted to order it but it's been out of stock. Does the "less than 2% evaporated cane syrup" make it off limits?
