I'm considering asking for US Wellness meats gift certificates. :-)

Couple more I'm finding: 1. You always have a mason jar of coconut milk in the fridge 2. Farmer's market vendors save stuff for you 3. You are constantly running out of chili powder, paprika, and cumin. (I showed my spices to my father in law yesterday and he said 'Its like a SPICE LIBRARY!' This filled me with glee.

Were you by any chance scraping up charred sweet potato remnants from the bottom of the oven? I've got a bit of that!

TJs had fresh Brussels sprouts on the stalk last time I was there. I know I've undergone some kind of paradigm shift when I was excited about this.

Yep, that's a SeaSnax, and as advertised they ARE strangely addictive!

Spending way too much $$ on groceries!

I wish the nearest Aldi wasn't 65 miles away or I'd definitely go there more often. I'm in North Central Pennsylvania just below Corning, NY. About 50 miles in either direction from Wegmans, which carries all the exotic and organic, but I tend to shop online to keep my travel costs lower. We're poor folks here in Tioga County so there is not and never will be a Trader Joes or a Whole Foods. As for paper products, there are only two of us, so that stuff lasts a while!

Well, back from the store, just shopped for my first Whole30 week and spent $114.00. Not bad. That includes TP, a roll of paper towels, and laundry detergent. So the food was just a skootch over $100, mostly vegetables, meat, eggs, and a couple of odd bits for my husband who is not participating. I think I saved money not buying my usual $5 a half organic milk and two horking fistfuls of overpriced cheese. And half and half by the hogshead.

You play the 'Nope' 'Nope' 'Nope' 'Yep' 'Nope' game while the person in front of you is putting their groceries on the belt, and calculate that if you removed all the non-food, their bill would be $16.

Ha, I have received permission to do the ISWF salmon cakes this week as a dinner option...I have never bought canned salmon before but I hope we love them because they seem like the next best thing to crab cakes, which I can't really make these days because good crab is hard to come by where I live. (Jealous of the poster above who lives in Baltimore)

This is what I buy...and those 32 oz jars were the ones that were BOGOF. Edited to add: This is the same company Karen mentioned. They are wonderful to work with! And also, they have sales constantly, if you get on their email list you'll get notification when they are having them.

'm going to look into buying coconut oil online. Currently my coconut oil habit is $10 per week for 10 oz of oil. Check out Tropical Traditions, their prices are very good and they have sales all the time. My last purchase was a BOGOF for 32 ounce jars and it wasn't more than $20 for 64 ounces of CO.

We got together with several families and ordered a cow together from a local organic farm. In a week or so I'm getting 50 pounds of grass fed beef in a variety of cuts that I will be spending $160 for. There are two of us, so 50 pounds of beef will last a good while combined with other things. I've been eating almost Whole30 for about nine months now (the only thing on my 'active elimination' list is dairy--everything else is already gone). I'm hoping this plus the temporary suspension of my cheese budget will balance things out a bit. It does seem like I drop a lot of money at the store these days (usually $100-125 a week for two) but when I consider all the stuff I'm not buying that I used to eat, I think I'm still ahead of the game.
