MrsRobinson got a reaction from Lea Mint in Husband/Wife/Spouse/Partner Not With the Program?
I went wheat and sugar free in September and at first my husband was not interested at all. He said 'I'm just going to do Weight Watchers again'. (The fact that he said 'again' is very telling.) This was something we actually had pitched battles about. I finally decided to just shut up and do the thing. When I had lost about 35 pounds, suddenly I didn't seem so crazy. When I hit 40-45 pounds, after cooking him fabulous meals for a few months, he joined me. And lost 35 himself. At the moment he is not interested in Whole30 but I'm not going to push him, he's going to eat what I cook and then maybe when I hit 75 pounds (I'm at 64 now) he might decide its not so crazy. My strategy, in short, is 'shut up and glow'.

You play the 'Nope' 'Nope' 'Nope' 'Yep' 'Nope' game while the person in front of you is putting their groceries on the belt, and calculate that if you removed all the non-food, their bill would be $16.

Those of you who are doing this for a second or (more-th time)...how about helping out the new folks by posting a link to one of your favorite compliant meals? Here's one of mine. We eat it with steamed and riced cauliflower. http://paleofoodiekitchen.com/2013/06/ground-chicken-curry/

Day 1 in the books, off to day 2....I have a turkey curry simmering (ground turkey, can of tomatoes, Red Boat Fish Sauce, black pepper) that we're eating over steamed and riced cauliflower and broccoli (there was NO frozen cauliflower at my store the day I went shopping, whoever is scamming on all my cauliflower had better cut it out). Usually one of my meals is a portion of whatever we had for dinner....I work night shift so I'm all backwards and turned around in case what I post makes no sense with the day. I started tapering off a bit a few days before I started with dairy and I cannot believe how only two days dairy free makes me feel less bloated, my stomach feels light and I notice a difference in how tightly I can do 'crunches' in my yoga program. I just feel cleaner. Hard to explain.

I have, in the past, cooked a bag of steam in bag cauliflower and then just dumped it in a bowl and riced it up with two sharp knives. If I am mashing it I tend to get that kind because it is just the right amount for two of us.  Another 'when you can be bothered' shortcut...if you want to saute some cabbage for a dish...cole slaw mix. Right in the pan.

Good morning! Spinach, mushroom and red pepper scramble in the works for breakfast, got some chicken on the grill for my husband's dinner (he leaves for work at 1pm) and I'm making a big salad for both of us for the chicken to go on top of. By now my neighbors are used to my firing up the grill at 09 30. Have an amazing day!

Hello! I am starting Sept 1st. This will be my second Whole 30, I've been primarily Paleo for three years but I find I need to tighten up on my day to day meal guidelines every now and again.  I'm actually looking forward to it because I know how good I feel when I do it. @NancyW, I did the emails when I did my first Whole30 and found them very helpful and encouraging.
