    I second this question.
     
    I have a birthday on the 1st of Nov (finishing my W30 on 30 Oct). I really would like to have a couple of drinks. I am happy to still keep to my W30 eating and forgo all the non-compliant food but just wondering if drinking will throw my reintro completely out of whack? I guess it depends what kind of alcohol it is. Should I drink wine or spirits so as not to consume wheat if I'm not testing that yet?

    Wow... yesterday, day 10, I truly experienced what KILL ALL THE THINGS really means. No, I didn't kill anyone. But my husband had to try and soothe me like a baby because I was so wound up and told the cat to get fucked and yelled at TV characters like they were real people (I'm watching Dexter - and for anyone who's seen it, I was swearing at Lieutenant Laguerta calling her a stupid b*tch and getting really worked up at how much of a cow she was being So funny. I just could NOT relax/de-anger myself.
     
    It was weird as well because I was feeling relatively Zen for most of the day then it all just hit me like a truck at once later in the afternoon.
     
    Feeling much better today.

    I think the main reason for my positive outlook is because unlike in previous W30s I've done where I've been counting down the days til I'm done - this time I'm in it for the long haul. I've been to quick to 'finish' in the past and havent really paid attention to my body or my needs and 30 days hasn't been enough for me anyway so whats another week or two!? (I'm sure I'll change my tune when I get to the end of the month when it's my birthday/Australia day long weekend though.. haha). Someone on facebook also put it well to me - he said "don't start over - just add days to the end. So I'm still on day 9! Just on day 9 of 38!
     
    Miskatie86 - eggs are definitely my go to emergency food. I also usually always have some form of leftovers in the fridge and I buy frozen veg in steam bags. It has about a cup of veg in it and you just plop it in the microwave. I sometimes heat a couple of those up and add some tuna, olive oil, salt and pepper. Not the most exciting thing but hey - it works.

    In my experience week three IS the hardest! It's not all shiny and new anymore and you might expect to see results by then but there's still a while to go. Hang in there!

    NazzaB: I would look at your journey since December as two steps forward, and this weekend as the one step back... with the silver lining being you've seen an immediate response to eating some food that has been causing you problems. You were doing great, and one of the biggest cheerleaders on this string, which I appreciate, so get back on that horse, and when you re-introduce foods, I hope you can figure out what makes you ill. Good luck!

    I had a lot of issues with energy for runs during my last W30. It got better around the 3 week mark but nowhere near the same kind of energy as pre whole30. There are forums specifically for this kind of issue in the Whole30 for athletes section if you want to have a browse.

    Bulletproof coffee currently: 1 tsp ghee 1-2 tbsp coconut milk 1 cup coffee. I blend it in the cup with my itsy-bitsy cordless whisk. When not on whole30, I add vanilla. When I'm lazy, I skip the ghee. Sometimes, it's just coconut oil but no coconut milk. Now that I think about it, on most days it's quite far removed from the original bullet proof.

    Off the top of my head:
    - egg, chicken, tuna or salmon salad made with homemade mayo with a sweet potato on the side
    - hard boiled egg with sliced peppers (the egg yolk counts as fat)
    - compliant prosciutto with cucumber and olives
    - sardines, sauerkraut and sliced avocado
    - smoked salmon, wilted spinach with compliant dressing and/or walnuts

    I'm a police officer and the added stress of being fit enough to do my job and at the right 'weight' makes it tough sometimes. I know how you feel! I could probably let myself go more than I have but ordering new uniform is an ordeal and a half so at least my work pants/shirt/belt keep me honest

    I.... I am not treating myself I guess. The other day I drank a glass of water and lemon in one of our fancy wine glasses just to make it feel a bit nicer and my hubby thought it was funny 
     
    Someone randomly followed my blog today that I have not posted in since 2013. It was a journal of my SECOND W30 which I "failed" after day 12 but reading through it I had always failed because even though I was making huge changes, I wasn't overly compliant. Reading over it makes me realise how far I've come and how much of a learning curve this is.

    Thanks to everyone for the meal tips and for sharing your successes and struggles! So encouraging! I hope everyone is taking the time to pat themselves on the back I'm struggling to find some non-food (or wine) rewards to celebrate small victories... But I did notice that I'm saving a lot of money by not eating out, so I'm thinking a mani/pedi is in order. @WholeChristina I love the idea of getting a massage and coffee! How are you guys doing with treating yourselves?

    I so wanted a little bit of dark chocolate last night but since there's no cheating on this eating plan, not even a tad, I resisted and talked myself through it. I'm so glad there is no wiggle room on these 30 days.

    Happy Day 5, for those of you on Day 5!
     
    Blergh, I had a weigh-in this morning.  (For those of you not in the armed services, every so often your unit puts you on a scale to determine whether you exceed your alloted poundage for your particular height).  Spoiler alert, I exceeded my alloted weight by 11 pounds.  Unngh I feel chubby this morning.  Not a good way to start off my week!  I tried telling my boss that the 30-day program I'm on discourages weighing oneself...he didn't buy it.  :-D
     
    At least that gave me good motivation for the program!  I had a big bowl of silken zucchini soup and five gyoza meatballs (pork and cabbage and water chestnuts and garlic and mmmm).  Feeling pretty good.  I'm also going to the lunchtime crossfit class today.  Whee!
