That seems like a lot of oil, actually.  How much lime did you use? Try throwing another egg yolk in the failed mayo and blending again with your stick blender.

My recipe is 1.25 cups oil, one egg, 2 tbsp acid (I love lime!), dry mustard and salt.

Edited to add: If you don't want to try and save it, blend in some fresh herbs like dill, parsley, cilantro, garlic, onion powder etc and make a ranch dressing!  Or mix in some Frank's Red Hot and drizzle it over cooked meats as a sort of buffalo sauce.

I'm glad you started this topic. I'm doing no fruits, no nuts, no squash, no roots because they are all too irritating for my stomach. I am doing a lot of green veggies and I'm not counting carbs, so maybe I won't be in ketosis, but I am going to follow this thread. Your posts are very motivating!

Hi StevenJ.  I have the warning under my profile and wondered the same thing.  Glad to know it's nothing personal in that i posted/did something wrong and I would be kicked-off if I did it again.  The funny thing about it was, nobody told me what I did?  So I just ignored it.

For those disappointed you can't have the fajita veggies, you CAN ask for them UNCOOKED and avoid the noncompliant oil. I did this the other day and they happily obliged. It may be different than what you're used to but I prefer the crunchiness of the raw peppers and onions.

I used to eat fat free egg beaters with fat free cheese and canadian bacon on a light english muffin for breakfast. IT WAS DISGUSTING. I'm so happy I discovered real food.

I'm 74 on finish8ing Day 26 today. I know I have lost weight because I'm into pants I couldn't button before I started. I have so much energy my house is now spotless every day and I get it done in half the time. I added a third class at the Y on Wednesdays. I do yoga and water aerobics 5 days a week and strength training 2 days. I sleep better and the cravings are gone. I live 1/2 mile from Dairy Queen and don't even think about stopping. I actually am eating a real breakfast for the first time in years. I was doing a protein shake before going to the gym because I thought I had no appetite for food. Now I love eggs, but sweet potato hash, spaghetti squash and meatsauce with an egg on the top, chocolate chili and zucchini giner soup are also on the breakfast menu. I wish I knew about eating like this many years ago.

I'm 52 and also post-menopausal.  The second week of the Whole30 I felt bloated with head-aches, but that lasted only a few days.  I'm on Day 22 and feel I could go another thirty days.  I feel great, my clothes are looser, and I'm sleeping better.  The Whole30 is a great reset plan because it helps us to weed out the foods we can no longer tolerate the way we did when we were young.  Stick with it...I've found that if I surround myself with the Whole30 compliant food, then I don't obsess over the food I'm allowed and that makes eating this way much easier.

northwoodsmom8 - For me it's been perserverence.  Eating paleo helped me lose initial weight before starting a Whole30 in March, so I was excited to see what the Whole30 could do.  I was also committed to the process.  I realized mid-March that my tuna contained soy.  Instead of just 'brushing it under the rug' - I started again at day one.  I was doing this for me, not anyone else.

I started eating within an hour of waking up.  That's made a huge difference for me.

I don't skip meals any more.  My body needs three meals a day to keep going.

I eat LOTS of food.  In the past I'd eat a salad for lunch and call it good.  Now I eat a good portion of protein, some carbs and lots and lots of veggies.

I eat plenty of fat.  I've shied away from fat in the past thinking the fat was making me fat.  No more of that!

By the end of my Whole30 I was sleeping like a baby, I wasn't bloated and gassy like I'd been for years, My sugar demons have gone away, I wasn't taking handfuls of Ibuprofen for arthritis pain.

People ask me every day how I lost weight.  I tell them I haven't lost weight, this weight has fallen off me!  It has!  This has not been hard for me.  I don't feel deprived.  I'm eating more than I ever have in my life.  The difference is I'm eating fuel for my body, not just food.

When I started in January I didn't know how I'd make it a week.  Looking back I've knit together 8 months + just by attacking one day at a time.

Have struggled with my weight since freshman year in HS.  I'm now 58.  Tried every diet, lost and gained again.  Struggled with each diet to get the weight to even budge.  Started eating Paleo in January.  Tried my first Whole30 in March that ended in April after I did a restart.  Lost 7 lbs during those 6 weeks.  Since January I've dropped 40 pounds, maybe more.  I never did reintro as I learned there are food items I can live without.

You have to do the work, put in your 30 days and go from there.  We are all different and will all have different results.  I didn't pay attention to the 'timeline' of what to expect.  Again, we are all different.

I feel too many people set themselves up for failure because they don't experience what other's say they experience.  GIVE IT TIME.  Give it 30 days!!

You can do this.  You will do this.  One day at a time

Breakfast today was 2 BIG mugfuls of a variation of the gingered zucchini soup in well fed 2. I started out with green onions, 4 cloves of garlic, fresh ginger, 2 zucchini and leftover steamed broccoli from dinner last night. Cooked till the zucchini was really tender -- about 45 min then I added in 4 HUGE handfuls of power greens (chard, kale, spinach) and let them wilt down.OH and I cooked it in bone broth that I am still simmering-- just ladled out what I needed for the soup and put the lid back on the bone broth! Poured it in batches into my food processor and blended away! Chopped up a hard boiled egg and mixed it into my mugs of soup and had a meat patty and raw bell pepper along side. Yum!

Some of you make some seriously good looking meals!  I wished I enjoyed cooking more...I think I would enjoy ALL of your meals, but I just don't want to take the time to fix them.

For me, M1 today (yes, at 3:30pm, but I worked patrol last night, got in at 6am, slept until 1) was baked salmon topped with a sauce of homemade mayo mixed with fresh salsa, and a heaping side of Wildbrine's Red Beet and Cabbage sauerkraut.  I'm in LOVE with that sauerkraut...could eat the whole jar with a spoon.

I'm not currently "doing" a W30, but I'm moving more and more to that type of eating as a lifestyle.  It's cool how it "creeps" into your thinking and becomes easier and easier.

I'm not sure if this is breakfast, or more of a brunch, since I slept later than usual, but this is what I had for my first meal today:

Elvis burger (hamburger patty topped with almond butter, banana, and bacon), collard greens, and sweet potatoes (yes, they were slightly burnt. One of these days I'll learn to set a timer).

This morning I've got leftover chicken meatballs, green beans, spinach and pesto (meatballs and pesto recipes from the new w30 book).
I did have a couple of fried eggs with mine, because I really like eggs, but it would have been just as delicious without.

This morning was hamburger patties, the last of some tricolore salad I made for the week (thank goodness -- it's good, but getting soggy and I'm tired of it. Next time, I'll only make a half batch), tostones, jicama, tahini dressing, and berry-lemon-ginger kombucha.

This morning: cold roasted chicken thigh, red and yellow bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots. mayo with hot sauce, black coffee. Followed this with a hard boiled egg (they were cooking when I took this picture--normally I have some on hand).

This morning I made compliant breakfast sausage and tossed in frozen broccoli, carrots, cauliflower and spinach. I topped that with Lizard Sauce. When I don't have Lizard Sauce I stir in homemade mayo instead. Since it takes 5 minutes to make, I always have some! Add coffee & coconut milk, yum!

Yesterday I had ground beef, onions, green salsa and avocado with some chopped cilantro from my garden. Heaven! I do usually top my meat and veggies with an egg or two, but it's just as delicious when I am out of eggs.

    Oh, fun!

As it is currently Eight Billion Degrees here today, I thought I'd start off this morning with a salad.  And yes, I ate it out of a huge tupperware because as we always say, your salad needs to be huge and all my large bowls were busy.  Contained potatoes, olives, pickles, peppers, tomatoes, greens, cucumbers, a hunk of meatloaf and this dressing.
