joybedford got a reaction from CherylS67 in My first Whole30 starts MONDAY (1/11/2016)
Hi my day 2 is coming to an end. I had spinach and broccoli soup for breakfast, sweet potato, bacon and apple hash with a side of roast veggies (asparagus, carrots, courgettes) and for dinner steak, more roast veggies and mushrooms with mayo. I also had an orange and pear. I feel tired now and a bit fuzzy headed but not too bad. The worst thing was cutting my sons chocolate cake for the 4 children I so wanted to lick my fingers but resisted. Here's to a successful 28 days more. I am still having moments of why am I putting myself through this but it will be worth it.

I deferred starting my whole 30 because I am ill and didn't think it was the best time but now I am regretting that decision. I feel rubbish anyway so I think whole 30 can only help. I received my organic veg box today and a hello fresh box so I have enough veg for the week may as well get going. I am on nights tonight and tomorrow and I have already packed a compliant meal so starting tomorrow.

Hi my name is Joy and I live in the UK. I am a midwife and have 3 children Marcus aged 19 and twins Piers and Lydia aged 10. Marcus has autism and Piers has autism/ADHD. I enjoy running lifting weights and dancing, my daughter and I have a dance show in 5 weeks.
I successfully completed a whole 45 and have never felt healthier. Since then I have attempted a whole 30 twice and failed around day 18. My main problem with whole 30 is what to eat for breakfast I struggle with hot food in the morning.
My reasons for doing this are mainly health I have fibromyalgia, gastritis, plantar fasciitis, temporomandibular joint disorder, daily headaches, depression and a benign brain tumour. I have recently gained weight and don't like what I see in the mirror at all, this has affected my self confidence. I am looking forward to the dance show but dreading how I will look in the photos and dvd. I haven't told my husband I am doing a whole 30 as he is not supportive.
I am expecting major withdrawal symptoms as my diet has been shocking for the past 3 weeks. Looking forward to getting to know you all and hoping to get and give support.
My life is extremely busy as well as the children, work and exercise we also have a crazy 17 week old german shepherd who has turned our life upside down, he is worse than having a baby but very much loved. Glad to be a part of this group.

I just wanted to Let you all know I am out too for a few reasons. 1, my parents took me and my children out to dinner and there was nothing compliant at all (all you can eat Chinese buffet), I did the best I could but it was impossible and as my dad had payed I didn't want to be ungrateful , 2, I genuinely don't feel any different and I didn't the last time I did a whole 45 my health problems are as bad if not worse, 3, I tend to lean towards an eating disorder and can feel myself getting obsessed with food it is starting to take over my life in an obsessively unhealthy way, 4, my daughter is starting to notice how fussy I am with food and I don't want her to end up with my issues.
I managed to day 22 and I am proud of that, I layed awake all night worrying about the fact I had gone off plan and the truth is I don't want to start again. I think the best thing for me is to eat as healthfully as possible while not obsessing over every bite. I am glad I was a part of this it has taught me a lot about myself and wish you all luck. It was nice getting to know you all. Sorry.

Yes I am general trained as well but didn't work as a nurse for very long. Been a midwife for 18 years. I will continue with mainly paleo as I do enjoy the food but being so strict is not good for me mentally. Thanks for all the encouragement I really appreciate it.

Thankyou for your kind words it means a lot. I have no intention of quitting I will see this through to the end.
Today I had my first victory. I have let my working out slip throughout the whole 30, either too busy, no motivation, or too tired. Today I said enough Joy go for a run. I set out to do 30 minutes but gave myself permission to cut it short to 20 if I was finding it tough (I haven't ran for 4 weeks). The run was easier than expected and I did 40 minutes and 4 miles, so proud of myself. Now I need to keep that consistency going and I will be back to half marathon standard in no time. If I have time I will do some weights later too. Today is so far a better day.
I didn't sleep well again though, my jaw is still painful and I start nights tonight. I have some broccoli and spinach soup cooking and had bacon sweet apple hash with eggs for breakfast.

Leonie I am either amazing or stupid probably the latter. To top everything off I have come down with a cold I have a fever and headaches. When will it end. One more nightshift I cannot ring in sick it is punishable by death at my place of work LOL. Finally in bed with a bowl of soup hope I can sleep I need it. You are all doing so well keep it up.

Thanks you have all made me feel a little better. I am not starving myself by any means but I am not eating enough either. My calories were about 1200 yesterday,( I am still tracking to make sure I am eating enough and because I am part of a biggest loser challenge). I am making sure l eat lots of good fats and am eating things like bacon hash and chilli etc. today I am just not hungry and the pain meds make me nauseous. I also have a sore throat. I still need to work out but I don't feel like it. I did go to my dance class last night though which was fun. I will work out soon if my daughter will let me have the TV. Thanks again for the support.

I will be honest i nearly gave up yesterday day 18 here today. My jaw pain which had almost completely gone is back back on pain meds and soft food agan. I was so hungry and low on calories yesterday I almost had a protein shake but I thought you only have 12 more days to go see it through. I think the frustrating thing is I am not feeling any benefits yet I still have no energy, my skin has a fresh outbreak of pimples, my fibro is just as bad and I have this awful jaw pain. The only benefit is weight loss but I am not eating enough either. Been to my dentist today and he can't help me soft diet, pain meds and time, my X-Ray is normal. So I am in a frustrated state today. My husband refuses to talk about it he is not trying to sabotage me anymore but he won't discuss it either. Hopefully I will feel better soon but for now I need to cook more soup. Sorry I am being so negative but fed up of putting a brave face on this.
