    Can I have rotisserie chicken?

Thanks, Chris! After reading your comment, I literally rushed back to the shop to ask. Long story short, after a series of interrogations and a phone call (!) I am seemingly fine. Like, 95% fine. And I was surprised to find out that I have to ask twice at the same place. Last time I asked the girl at the counter, and she named the ingredients, and they were fine with me. Now she admitted that she wasn't sure, and I cad to call the business owner. In any case, I'd go on with my program because it's day 28, and I really have done my due diligence as asking the seller last time and being perfectly sure the chicken was compliant (which it seemingly is). However, next time on Whole 30, I'll skip rotisserie chicken because it's just too much stress on a weekend.

    Can I have rotisserie chicken?

What about the rotisserie chicken which from a counter? I have asked them about the ingredient, and they said: paprika, salt and oil. I don't remember which oil, I think, sunflower, but I'll ask again. I have explicitly asked about possible sugars and negative. I'm on day 28 :-)).

    Smoked salmon

Hi MeadowLily, I would like to smoke my own fishie, and I have a terrace and a grill, but no skills... Any advice, even very short, on how to do this, would be very appreciated! Thanks.

I have just made the kalua pig by Michelle from Nom Nom Paleo, in my brand new Instant Pot pressure cooker. This is just wow! No words. Husband is over the moon, he's also doing the Whole 30. I get it: I think if I would come home from a business trip and find a warm bowl of kalua pig on the table, I'd also be pretty happy. :-) Bulletproof coffee is something I yet have to master. How do you guys drink your coffee? And how's everyone doing?

    Plan a Whole30 dream vacation

Well, I have just been on a "dream" (as I then thought) short vacation in Austrian Alps. I snowboard, so I have decided to go to the snow and reap the benefits of my "Tiger Blood Time" to improve my sports performance. My husband and I knew the place already, so we knew the shop and the places, and our apartment had a very well equipped kitchen: we had friends staying over for one night and made mayo twice in five days. :-) Also, we speak German so even if we'd decide to go out we could totally ace "clean" eating out, and the local restaurant keepers are very, very nice people. Least but not last, the quality of meat and produce in Austria is excellent, to say nothing of that we were in a rural area where "frankenfoods" are harder to get than organic stuff. Still, I came home stressed. I was stressed the whole time, actually. Why? Well, I love Austrian food. In my opinion, it tastes heavenly. I am not a sweet tooth at all, but they have the best coffee accompanied by the best cakes and sweets, all homemade, fresh and elaborate. While I never, or almost never order a dessert in restaurants, there it was truly painful. It is not only the treats, but the amazing meat products and sides almost always contain non-compliant ingredients. I have gone clothes shopping instead and nailed it, but it didn't feel compensating enough for my "food deprivation". And for me it was a discovery, because before this Whole 30 I never thought I had a problem with eating out. In other places, I just never desired the forbidden foods so much.

I have so much energy that I really cannot sleep (5-6 hours is all I get lately). But 6 up is theoretically ok for an adult so I don't bother. What I'm experiencing is a massive emotional purge: old stuff gets over me, I kind of have to deal with it. Came back from a trip to the mountains and I must admit that my snowboarding skills have improved a lot. They had previously plateaued. I attribute this boost to how I eat lately. I kind of really work out too much lately, but I cannot help it: you wake up and your body is like 3-2-1-go! And I had this weird dream about accidentally messing up my W30 in a fast-food place the other night! Buff I woke up happy this was just a dream.

Hi Suzrand! You could also take a small bottle of your own salad dressing with you: it is always the easiest to get a plain salad in almost any establishment but a nice dressing brightens it up. My husband who is doing the program with me was traveling two weeks ago and he survived and thrived :-) on steaks, salads and bananas. I also gave him a couple of bars (we don't have Larabars in Germany, but there are alternatives) for the airport hours: worked fine. We are now on travel (holiday) and, although we have a kitchen here, it is totally not the same as at home. I miss my devices, my spiced and my spiralizer! Anyway, it is manageable (I have just tried a new food thing today which is violet carrots). During my previous Whole 30 a year ago, I was traveling 3 times and I always had a small container in my bag filled with nuts, carrot sticks, almond butter, fruit... whatever worked. You can totally do it!

I think the keys are: constant speed, smooth motions, steady hand and pouring oil in constantly in really small quantities. BTW I squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon instead of vinegar: I just don't like vinegar for some reason.

    ISWF audiobook trouble

Hi there! Contact your iTunes Store Support first. Mine is Spanish because my country is Spain, and the Support Guy was really, no, REALLY nice to me. Have you checked your iTunes Music Library for the PDFs? They allegedly should be there. I have triple-checked mine, the iTunes Media Library and all recent downloads (on an OS X and a Windows machine) prior to asking further. I have no knowledge of how Audible works because I am not their subscriber.

    ISWF audiobook trouble

I don't have an account on Audible.com so I don't know how it's working anywhere which is not iTunes. In iTunes, the book is split on tracks, so you have to browse through a chapter to get to something you specifically want to listen to. It doesn't bother me though. By the way, the Whole 9 guys did reply! I got an e-mail just some hours ago. I have obtained the PDFs, and I am very thankful! Also, kudos go to Spanish iTunes support guys: they are investigating my issue and they have chosen to return me the money for the audiobook so I kind of got it for free! I honestly haven't even asked for it, ever. So my intention is now to preorder the Whole 30 book with this monies, from iTunes Store ES, of course. A normal one :-). However, I was going to buy it anyway.

Hi to all, We're halfway through! I am thinking of extending to a Whole 45 because I turn to have phychological issues with food I still need to tackle and that I was unaware of. Like, yesterday I have overdone on fruit: I had a couple of really exhaustive workouts (freeletics and snowboarding) and needed some punch to keep me going. Wrong! Lesson learned: relax and don't overdo anything: neither sports nor "fuel". Also, I am still feeling "deprived" sometimes, and I want to get rid of it and feel only freedom. More to that, I want to boost my cooking skills, because I got a couple of new paleo cookbooks, and I really need to get my hands on them. Lastly, I want to ace this eating out thing: still working on it. Hint: if you ever travel to Germany, you can say you're "allergic" to stuff in an establishment, and they'll take you very seriously. Hope everyone is doing well, advancing through their Whole 30s and is in good health!

    ISWF audiobook trouble

Hi guys, I hate to be "that guy" here, but I am having a problem and I was hoping that some advice would help me fix it. I have purchased ISWF audiobook on iTunes, and my iTunes Store is Spanish. Apparently, the accompanying PDF material is NOT included because I fail to locate it on my machine which I have tried several times. I have contacted the Whole30 program on Twitter but they haven't provided me with an answer yet (they are busy and the audience is growing, so I understand). I have contacted the iTunes Support, too, and they have tried to help me in many ways, but if the files are not there there is little they can do. I did search my Music library. Most of you guys are in the US, so I would like to know if you have downloaded everything smoothly. If that applies, could you please tell me any file name so I could specifically search for it on my computer, again. May be, in European iTunes Stores the PDFs don't go to Music Library but somewhere else. Finally, I own the first ISWF book so perhaps it's fine without the files, but the claim is that they should be there. And this might sound like an utterly random guess, but may be I am having troubles because some contents sometimes are not available in different parts of the world (for whatever reason). So it's either my poor searching searching skills in which case I would appreciate your help if you point out to me what exactly I have to search for, or it can be a technical issue and then it affects more than just me. Thanks a lot for any feedback.

Grabbed a roasted chicken today (because I read somewhere this might be seen as a paleo alternative to takeaway), asked the woman at the counter what was in it. She said: "Oil, paprika and salt." I explicitly asked if there was sugar, she said no. I even asked about MSGs (which seemed to be a totally normal question to her), she said, negative. Then she added that there might have been some pepper but that was about it. So I took the bird and took it home, where I shared it with my husband. However, I was still concerned. What if? I didn't eat any skin - in case, but I seem totaly paranoid to myself. There is a fine line between being "that guy" and being really nuts. I am having thoughts abourt restarting - in case, which on one hand is never a bad idea, but on the other hand I'm reluctant to do so because I kind of take it seriously. I do fear starting over, if I make such decision of if a real issue comes along. Does anyone else have similar issues?

    Whole 30 Food is Gross!

From what I read you're stressed out. That's too bad because Whole 30 is aimed to promote health and stress is no health. Re. mayo. I know there is a gazillion of hints on how to do mayo on this forum, but we prepare mayo and garlic mayo (allioli) all the time at home and we never store it for long, so let me share our recipe. You squeeze juice ouf of 1/2 lemon (I don't like vinegar too much but I encourage you to use vinegar if you do), add salt and egg and then you take a stick blender into your dominant hand and a bottle of a light (!¡) oil in your non-dominant hand. You dip your blender into your egg, turn your blender on a slow speed, start pouring oil in very-very small amounts letting it slowly but constantly drain into your mayo-to-be and move your blender up and downwards, slowly (!¡), not changing your speed of motions and having the blades immersed in the mayo. 40 seconds to 2 minutes and you got it. As for inspiration, check Melissa Joulwan's blog. It's just wow (so as her books)!
