I am 43 and an employed mother of two young kids. After 40+ days of W30 eating -- with a brief dairy and gluten reintro experiment after 30 -- I think my sugar and wine demons are on the leash.
I have a chunk of
weight fat to lose, a lot of fitness to regain, and the aforementioned demons to clobber. I think perhaps I need to persist longer than 30 days to see any real weight loss. I was very happy with my second W30, and I lost maybe 4 lbs. Not as much as I had hoped, but better than nothing. and I started to see some definition in my arms again and a tad more shape to my legs. I will be on vacation and essentially not in change of my food for 2 weeks in July -- a family pattern of infantilization that I will do what I can to reshape... And when I get back home, my current plan is to start another Whole30-45.
I would also like to determine whether diet has anything to do with my chronic idiopathic urticaria. I am now avoiding tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cumin, coriander, black pepper, spinach, canned fish, anything fermented and anything aged. (This is far more restrictive than a W30, and I have to say I do not like it one bit. And these added restrictions have the unfortunate consequence of making those sugar and wine demons restive!)
I did a Whole40 something in the fall of 2012 and was really pleased that I did it, but not so pleased with the results in terms of pounds, inches, and, most of all, irrevocability. In other words, Thanksgiving and Christmas did me in, big time.
