I'm so excited because i bought raw almonds for almond milk!  Soaking those bad boys tonight to make some tomorrow .  Sprouts has raw almonds on sale for $4.99/lb this week.

Trader Joe's has a light coconut milk with just coconut milk and water.  These are canned, though. If you were looking for a coconut milk "drink"-  you won't find a compliant one.

Is this recipe okay, or is it SWYPO?  I am currently paleo, but having a hard time with little things like these if they are Whole30 compliant or not.  (Is it paleofying a junk food?).

I used to be a die hard 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee fanatic... like, I couldn't drink coffee EVER without it. Never any sugar.  After my first Whole30 last May I can't drink coffee with anything in it at all....lol.  It's either black, or none!  I never thought I'd get to that point (and it took me 1/2 that month to get used to it).

I am doing a low FODMAP whole45, and its hard! To be honest though, with the nightshade sensitivity as well, you sound like you might be better off going full AIP for a while and see how you go. Tomatoes for instance, are low FODMAP.

I'm starting the low fodmap on the 1st so I can't comment on how hard it is yet.  I can only imagine how it's going to be learning to give up onions and garlic.  Onions at least I am already pretty sure make me very sick, and have my suspicions about pretty much everything else that is in grey on the low fodmap shopping list.

It is tough, but it's doable. Good news - you don't have to stick to it forever and it gets MUCH better. I had shopping lists from whole30 for low FODMAP and AIP, cross referenced and was left with 3 vegetables. After short period of terror and despair I decided that it's still worth a try.

    My best advice is:

    1. Focus on what you can have even if you think that you are left with zucchinis and cucumbers only. Been there. There are more options than you think.

    2. Make an honest effort to eat super nutrient dense foods. By limiting certain vegetables you are depleting yourself from nutrients, so you have to try as hard as you can to nourish your body with food you can eat. I will turn on the broken record here - liver, oily fish and tons of broth. Broth has great stomach soothing properties. Fermented foods - sauerkraut (make your own, fun) or any other fermented veggies. Pickled carrots are amazing. I would avoid kombucha as you might be reacting to yeast too. If you can get kefir grains - make water kefir. Try making your own kvass - fermented vegetable juice. Get busy!

    2. Think about supplements. Enzymes or probiotics as well as fish oil and gelatin per se. Gelatin can help restore the stomach lining if you can't make broth. There are some fun ways to eat gelatin (tea jello for or fruit gummies). Google knows it all.

When I did my first whole 30 I have discovered that I am reacting to eggs. I have never had anything like this before - upset stomach, crazy painful acne and other nasties. I have also discovered brutal reaction to nightshades and yeast. 1 year in - I started eating eggs again and I am 90% fine if I don't overdo it. I can eat tomatoes, but I will get mild reaction to peppers and everything derived from them. I can tolerate a lot of vegetables including the FODMAPs black listed. Caramelized onions - welcome back!

If you need more advice/help - feel free to address it. Good luck.

I am determined to make it past 25 days this time!  I still carry around the disappointment over my last Whole30, but I was a good girl for the week that I waited for this restart.  I'm gonna do this!

    Day 1

Meal 1: 2 poached eggs, thinly sliced prime rib in au jus, pineapple, 1 small avocado, black coffee.

Meal 2: 2 Applegate dogs, compliant mustard and sauerkraut, fresh raw cauliflower salad (with olive oil and balsamic vinegar), 1/2 sliced apple with roasted almond butter dip.  Water.

Meal 3: Roasted herb and lemon chicken, roasted veggies, artichoke, organic green salad.  Sparkling berry mineral water.

My pics still won't upload.  I guess I used up all my space with pics from my last Whole30 log .

I also react to tomato sauce if I have it before bed. I don't have a gallbladder so I need digestive enzymes to help but they don't always work on tomato sauce. Have you tried fresh tomatoes or acid free tomatoes? Hopefully you can add them back into your life. Good luck!

Have you tried digestive enzymes? They really help with acid reflux. You will need to take them with every meal for a while before noticing the effects. Congratulations on making it to day 20!

    Hello!

I'm here, ready to give it another go - starting Monday.  I made it for only a week before sabotaging myself with poor planning for a social situation during my last Whole30 Whole5.  I feel much more prepared this time around.  Anyone else out there a little frexcited about tomorrow?

Kariann, One word of advice.. Dumb it way down. Literally, a plain piece of protein, veggies, fruit and fat. Don't drizzle anything, don't wrap anything. Just go to a restaurant and get a piece of protein grilled. Tell them to use NOTHING on it. Let the meat taste like meat. It is bland and boring at first but truly, the key to success is KISS. Keep it simple, stupid!

    Hello Team!

It has been a while....Great to see some of us are staying in touch. Good job DJ! It is tough when you are traveling. Good luck KariannB !!

I'm doing another 30 days, but not as strict. For instance I'm not eating strictly 3 times a day and I have re-introduced cheese(only brie at this point) and scale O.o. I'm at 120.5(started at 130), my husband lost 17 lbs from 228. We are continuing to lose weight and feeling great. Our only complaint is charlie horse, both of us. We are eating cashews(Mg) and Banana(K). We are suspecting Calcium and/or Water. So we will be increasing green leafy veggies(hubby has not embraced Brie) and water. I found a farm 2 miles from my house, now we are eating grass fed beef, pastured chicken and free range eggs. No luck on STPP free pork. Found some Whole 30 compliant Spaghetti sauce at Aldis and Wild Caught Salmon that do not have STPP!

Good luck team and talk to you soon!
