    Anyone else start Sept. 29th?

Hey Lauren, Hope you're feeling better. That's understandable, I think it's great you're choosing to continue your 30 days. I had a BBQ yesterday and made my own delicious chicken and veggie skewers and stuck to those and the fruit (despite the mountains of homemade goodies!) I had hoped the oil would be compliant but didn't check, as I was going to eat the skewers either way. I saw later it was canola spray which would have been fine except it had soy in it. I know soy is definitely not Whole30 but I guess I chose to pretend it didn't happen...or to continue my Whole30. Starting over just isn't an option, I timed this Whole30 and the reintroduction period to finish up right before I go away for a month. So I though to myself yesterday "say it's over and eat all the cakes? or just keep it up and make this (the soy in the oil) where I draw my line?" I am pleased to say I've been in contact with the restaurant where I'm going tomorrow night and have settled on fish just fried on its own, and some veggies or a salad. Again, I won't be asking about the oil. On the one hand, it feels indulgent to be super picky when I don't have any diagnosed intolerance, but on the other hand, I won't know I have an intolerance if I don't do the Whole30 properly...and if a tiny amount is enough to set off an allergic reaction in one person, it makes sense a tiny amount could set off a mild unpleasant reaction in me (is my Tiger Blood lacking because my routine is all over the place, or because I ingested a little bit of something off plan?) I'm kind of just rambling to myself here, would love to hear anyone else's thoughts Have to admit, I am glad it's only 5 days left! But I am keen for reintroducing food groups one at a time to see if anything really bothers me. Hope everyone's having a lovely day 25!

3 weeks down! Can't believe how fast it's gone and how great I feel Feeling a bit edgy about going out for dinner this Friday night...apparently we're all doing the banquet, but I'd rather just inquire about one meal and eat that without being an annoying customer asking questions over every meal...hopefully this doesn't seem like a big deal to the rest of my family...location is yet to be decided, which isn't helping my apprehension :/

Thank you! My relatives know to let me know where we're going soon so I can sort myself out, so at least I will be supported by them

Just made the Olive Oil Mayo...it tastes absolutely amazing! I'll be extra keen for my veggies now

thanks for the great advice! Yeah, I don't want to wake up my sugar dragon either, they're such a pain to deal with. So lucky for me it's exam time, so I haven't been out and had to Whole30 my way through a restaurant. But next week (still within Whole30) I have a family birthday dinner, and we're going to a restaurant. I'm extremely hesitant (and maybe a tad paranoid) about going, but my immediate family is supportive so it should be OK. Partly concerned about sticking out (but at least that's only temporary) and partly concerned about ordering as best I can and ending up with something non-compliant... it also looks like it's going to be Thai, which I feel is especially tricky. Hoping I can just order some fried veggies & plain fried chicken...any extra advice? I'm going to find out the place we're going so I can look ahead and call them if need be. Hope everyone's pumped we've made it through 2 weeks!

I was really happy to make it through Day 10 (as I know it's one of the hardest days) and mentioned this to my best friend. We had a ridiculous long day with commitments and I wasn't super hungry at dinner so we had 10 minutes of peace together and split my random dinner - chicken salad with green beans, roasted sweet potato and beetroot, apple, walnuts with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It was really nice to be able to enjoy my delicious meal and share it with someone too! (especially someone so supportive of my Whole30, and who has changed a lot of their eating habits just from being around me so much)

Thanks Shannon for your reply! Will definitely get myself some of the recommended olive oil for making mayo with tomorrow. I'll document and observe a bit more closely, but I think I handle a handful of nuts OK so that's good for me. In regards to coconut cream and fruit (which I used to love and have as a sweet treat during non Whole 30 times; however this time round finding it a bit different and not as great as I remember), does this really need to be eaten with the meal? I know viewing it as dessert is not ideal (which is why I hadn't eaten it until I saw your post) but if you've kicked the Sugar Dragon's butt, can it be eaten after a meal? Partly because I enjoy it that way, and partly to appear more normal at the dinner table! I know we're allowed to have fruit, and I presume if someone is eating an apple they aren't going to just have a bite then have some of their main meal, then bite the apple again.

    Anyone else start Sept. 29th?

Day 9 which is exciting! All going well, bought myself a slow cooker which is currently making me dinner at home Getting a little bit hungry between meals...I eat decent protein serves I think (3 eggs for brekkie; chicken or beef for lunch/dinner) and eat some fat (half an avo or a handful of nuts) but think I may need to increase my fat content. Any suggestions? Last night I made Classic Chicken Soup with extra veggies and chicken from ISWF, but made a little salad of cucumber, tomatos, avocado and olives to try and get some fat into me to keep me full. Basically when I have a full meal of protein & veggies but not much fat, I'm stuck for ideas on how to add more fat. Today for lunch I've brought the soup with me, and a little container of cashews & coconut flakes, to try and prevent getting so hungry hours before dinner (like yesterday!) Hope everyone's having a great day 8/9

    French's Yellow Mustard

Thanks! Fortunately I think my local supermarket one might be OK, I just need to look up 1 of the ingredients (from memory I think it was an acidity regulator)

    Anyone else start Sept. 29th?

Hi! I started 29th September too, I'm in Australia though so I'm onto day 7 and things are looking up. Having said that, I think I had an advantage in that I have quit sugar multiple times over the last 12 months, and had already got my body to a point where 3 decent meals was all I needed through the day (a big change from seeking out food every 2 hours!) So for anyone still hungry a lot or craving sweets, I promise it does get better Even when I'm not hungry, I do find I crave things that are offered to me. I went out to the movies Friday night, I was full from my lovely dinner but the popcorn and ice cream everyone else had did look yummy! But I felt much better for not giving in afterwards. I did do 8 days of Whole30 in June, but I was vegetarian at that point. Becoming more informed about food made me decide to stop that Whole30 and resume eating meat, and do the Whole30 again once I was eating meat regularly and learnt how to cook it. Was a big change coming off 11 years of vegetarianism, but I feel it's certainly the right one, and I just try to buy the most ethically produced meat I can. Keep up the great work everyone and I look forward to hearing how you're all going

    French's Yellow Mustard

Hi, I have found French brand mustard in Australia...I have read that it's approved, I just wanted to check that 'vegetable oil' is a standard ingredient in it. I know vegetable oil isn't technically non-Whole30, but the rules do say to not use it at home...does having it as an ingredient of French brand mustard count? Thanks!
