Today was my most challenging day to date. We had people over and I really wanted to be able to eat what they were having. But I persevered.
They say the second Whole 30 is harder than the first, and so far I’m finding that to be true. I don’t remember the last one being this hard.

ugh...I'm crampy, which I never am, and I just want to eat all the things.  I'm breaking a rule and eating salad in front of the tv.  I don't care...

    Hi,
I am a Mom to two kids (4 year old, 1 year old) in Houston, TX, we keep a pretty healthy pantry/fridge and stick to buying most of our groceries at the farmer's market, we know exactly where our grass-fed beef, no soy pasture-raised chickens and eggs come from and produce too. I've been gluten-free since 2016, stick to it as much as I'm able (restaurants )...
But I eat at least one (or two) of these on a daily basis: dairy, beans, corn(tortillas), and agave nectar or stevia (coffee)... AND WINE on an almost daily basis (one glass... a MOM glass)
I've been playing around with the idea of W30 for a couple of months now, started following Melissa Hartwig, W30 social media, W30 recipes... but never really committed to actually doing it, just seeing what it was all about and testing recipes, ingredients and so on. Reliazed its not really that much different that what I'm cooking, but I cave and buy gluten free pizza or canyon bakehouse ancient grain bread for my avocado toast!
Started W30 today...I can do this.
I've done other elimination diets, one for 60 days that made you drink some disgusting shakes and supplements, made it to 26 days, then a work trip came up.
So here it goes, I want to declare my intention to complete W30...Besides, I got a girls' trip coming up in 42 days !!!!

It's not unusual for workouts to suffer for the first couple of weeks as your body adjusts to this way of eating, especially if it's a big change from how you were eating before. Be sure you're eating enough, and don't beat yourself up if you don't manage the kinds of workouts you think you ought to -- do what you can, and you should notice it getting better over time.
If you're not sure how to adjust your meals, you can always post in the Troubleshooting section of the forum (https://forum.whole30.com/forum/19-troubleshooting-your-whole30/)  with a day or two of typical meals, including approximate portion sizes, and other users or mods will try to help you sort it out.

I feel your pain, @LIEvans! I showed up at the office this morning and the water had been turned off (someone's working on it somewhere).  This means no coffee for me.  Perhaps I should explain a bit more -- THAT MEANS NO COFFEE!!!!!
I am trying to be civil about it, but I would prefer Total World Destruction to this. Being nice to people just makes it worse.
They have chosen a poor day to get on my last nerve, to be sure.

OK, I’m doing better. For now. But man o man this morning I was ANGRY about things that were, granted, annoying, but nowhere near worth the level of energy I was cooking up about them.

Hi guys! Sounds like everyone is doing mostly ok with the exception of @LIEvans lololol
I don't know why I decided yesterday would be a good day to donate platelets for the first time in two years. For one I was hungry at the appointment (4:30) and couldn't partake in all of their yummy snacks (m&ms, chips, crackers, soda). I got through it with my bottle of water and proceeded to feel yucky the rest of the night. Glad I woke up feeling better today. Had a work meeting and luckily they had hard boiled eggs and fruit. Kind of an unnecessary snack but it felt needed in a social environment... has anyone else run into that? Well the extra egg on top of my morning 3 eggs has made me bloated as hell so lesson learned that it wasn't needed!
Hope you all are hanging in there, we are almost through with our first week!

I really wanted a late night snack last night, and almost had one, justifying it by saying, "well, it's all healthy, on-plan food..." but I resisted, knowing that I wasn't really hungry, I was just bored, lonely, or wanting a treat.  yay me.

Well, despite my good intentions – I made mistakes over the weekend. Not huge ones, just small poor choices because i wasn't paying attention. I considered just overlooking them and forging on as if nothing had happened. But NO – that is not the Whole30 Way! It’s everything or nothing. Period!

I will own my mistakes, and I will restart today. I will remain 100% compliant and do this right.  I have a full refrigerator of good food (Sunday is my prep day) and I am ON IT!

Also, I’m practicing mindful eating and it has already changed the way I feel about the foods I eat. It allows me to truly taste each bite and appreciate the differences in texture and temperature between veggies and meat and fruit. I’m surprised by the experience, and I’ve found I stop eating sooner when I am truly paying attention.

Good luck to everyone. Get lots of sleep -- that's my secret to juggling everything in life and in the Whole30.

I'm feeling slightly foggy-headed and fatigued. Nothing too extreme, but it's definitely there. My past experience says this will last for another 10-12 days.  I feel lighter already, too. I'm peeing like a faucet. Shedding that water weight!
