  1. Good morning, sorry for the delay! 100% cocoa is only to be used as a savoury seasoning - in chili, as a rub on steak etc. Not to be combined with anything naturally sweet to make chocolately like confections or drinks.

  2. Hi @Sarmishta the two programs are not compatible with each other, as the protein from Plant-Based Whole30 meals comes mostly from legumes, which are not included in the Original Whole30 program. However, some of the recipes WILL be compatible between both programs, like veggie side dishes, so those will be a good source of inspo for everyone. And, there are some plant-based protein sources that are compatible with the Original Whole30 program, like the @abbotsbutcher products. Those are a great option if you’re doing an Original Whole30 and want to do a meatless meal or day.

  3. @Jami IngramThank you for your interest! At this time, we're not planning to accept any future applications for Whole30 Certified Coaches or Envoys. If additional opportunities within our community open up, we'll certainly let you know! We hope you continue sharing your passion and love for Whole30 with your communities and ours, and connecting with us via social media, email, and our Whole30 Forum. We’re so glad Whole30 changed your life, and so glad you’re part of our community. We look forward to staying connected with you.

  4. In August 2020, we launched our Made By Whole30 line of sauces and dressings to support your Whole30 and food freedom journeys. From House Ranch to Secret Sauce, we are so proud of the delicious, high-quality condiments we’ve produced, and honored to count you as a customer and fan.

In the two years since, we’ve experienced all the trials many other food brands have faced, like supply chain disruptions and the rising cost of fuel and ingredients. Because we’re still a small team and food manufacturing is complex, we’ve had to pull resources and budget away from our core mission (like creating free resources and recipes and answering community questions) to keep our line of dressings going. Needless to say, it’s been a challenging journey, and at the turn of the year, we found ourselves at a crossroads.

In the new year, I want my team to have the capacity and resources to focus on what we do best: leading you through the Whole30; supporting you in your food freedom; providing delicious recipes and inspiring articles; and fostering a nourishing community experience. As such, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue production of our Made By Whole30 line of products.

What this means for you, as a Made By Whole30 customer

Our friends at Thrive Market will sell our Made by Whole30 dressings on their site while supplies last… and maybe even beyond? I can’t say too much just yet, but we’ve been cooking something up with Thrive Market for the past few weeks, because the idea of you going without your beloved House Ranch or Creamy Balsamic made all of us sad, and we think we may have a solution. Stay tuned for more from us and Thrive Market soon!

While our Made by Whole30 line are retiring, we are just as committed to connecting you with the products and brands that make your Whole30 easier, more convenient, and tastier. Check out Whole30 Approved Partners in the Fridge & Pantry Staples section of our website to find your new favorite Approved dressing or sauce. Our Approved partners take all of the guesswork out of reading ingredients, whether you’re on a Whole30, have specific dietary restrictions, or just enjoy the lifestyle.

Thank you so much for your support of our Made By Whole30 line. While saying goodbye is bittersweet, my team and I are already looking ahead to plan for new and creative ways to help you feel and live your best with the Whole30 program and in your food freedom.

    Best,

    Melissa Urban

I am seeing issues with Fresh n Lean  as well. The ingredients aren’t posted online so I only realized the problem after I received the meals. One of my meals (cilantro lime salmon) has honey in it and another (apple cider bbq turkey) has sulfites, even though both say they are whole 30 approved. It seems whole30 may want to reevaluate their relationship with this brand.

Hi @Faith W - thank you so much for pointing this out! The honey in the salmon is definitely problematic and our Whole30 Approved manager is reaching out to them right now to investigate. The second one with the sulfites is actually fine. When listed in that way; "contains sulfites", it is simply a disclosure of a naturally occurring sulfite from the fruit. Were the sulfites listed as their own ingredient then it would be an added sulfite and not compatible. Sorry - the sulfites on ingredients can be unfairly confusing.

In order to get the salmon meal resolved, please contact their customer service to request resolution on that one but feel free to eat the turkey meal!

I completed my Whole30 on Jan 30, 2023. I followed the protocol exactly and had a WONDERFUL month. I loved the food, felt (feel) great, slept well, lost weight and inches, and generally want to eat this way forever.

HOWEVER, one of my main goals was to lower my cholesterol numbers. Instead, my LDL and combined Chol went up significantly, while HDL came down slightly. Side facts: 67 yr old, female, generally healthy but have hereditary high cholesterol. I have never taken statins though this is a continual battle with conventional doctors.

Could the egg consumption have caused the increase? I ate two a day with lots of veggies, as prescribed. With everything else eliminated, I can't figure out another cause. Any advice?

Hi there, we aren't doctors so we cannot comment on your specific concerns from a medical perspective - if you are concerned, please see your doctor. However - if you've lost any weight on the program, when fat is metabolized it releases stored cholesterol into the bloodstream and that can temporarily raise the blood cholesterol levels.

Hey there!  I'm starting my 5th whole30 soon, but I've always struggled with one thing. I'm a yogi and I practice for 30-45 minutes in the morning after water and tea and follow it up with strength training.  Yoga is meant to be done on an empty stomach, but this gets tricky while trying to follow the rule of eating breakfast within an hour of waking.  I typically have a light snack after yoga to fuel my weightlifting session. Does anyone have any workaround tips here?  Thanks in advance!

Hi! This is something that is a recommendation - eating breakfast within an hour of waking. Some people choose to work out fasted which is fine - we would just recommend that you make sure that you prioritize post-workout food which is in addition to your other three meals of the day. The trouble is when people inadvertently undereat because of their schedule.

  8. Hi Beth, doctor's rules trump Whole30 every time...we encourage you to try and find a supplement that does not have a specifically non-compatible ingredient in it - the Pure Encapsulation one is compatible. That said, one is a capsule and one is a liquid so you may find that they work differently for you. If you had to go back to the liquid form that had the stevia, that being a doctor's order and stevia being pretty benign in those quantities, that would be fine.

  9. Hi Cindie, the goal is eventually to make your meals the correct size for you to make it 4-5 hours in between. Pre and post workout meals are extra and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding then this is expanded as well. During the time that you are working out best meal sizes, we recommend you eat a mini-meal of protein and veg or protein and fat to get you through (chicken thigh and some avocado, half a burger patty and olives, hardboiled egg and sweet potato). We want to avoid grazing through the day and between meals because it doesn't give your digestive system time to rest and distribute the nutrients that it has accumulated.

  10. Hi Jackie! It is possible that you are in ketosis - it's hard to say without knowing what you've been eating. Are you including at least one serving of starchy veggie per day? Any fruit?

Can you let me know what email you've been using for Melissa as it is very unusual not to receive a reply, at least from her team!

  11. Hi there! That's super interesting about the removal of the allergen! We eliminate peanuts on the Whole30, not because of the allergen but because they fall into the legume category. Your better bet for nuts and seeds is to buy those that are not roasted - raw almonds, cashews etc will not have any additional oils in them. I know that Costco sells huge bags of raw nuts - I won't comment on how reasonably priced or not they are as that is subjective to each person based on their finances.

  12. Hi @LRH - it would be extremely difficult for us to know based on their categorization of the meals. I would see if you can get an ingredient list for each meal and review from there. Things like dairy or gluten would be much more problematic than, say, some sugar in a dressing.

After that I got my healthy energy back, less napping, less depression, more productive, slept better etc and want to get back to that, and on a permanent lifestyle level.

That all sounds great, @AdamzW30! You're in the right spot on the forum for January Whole30!

Vanilla beans basically make a vanilla soda kombucha. It was the best version I ever made.

I do have a question since the man I am to marry soon is a homebrewer. He makes very low alcohol beers for me already, and adds a clarifier that makes them certified gluten-free. If it has as much alcohol as kombucha is it compliant?

No, unfortunately because it's still made with grain.
