Raemikky, the forums are a very supportive community and those that take part regularly thrive here when they accept the rules for what they are, and realize that the Moderators (and other knowledgeable members) are passionate about the Whole30 program, and want to see you complete a true Whole30 meaning you will get the best results possible, and sometimes that takes a little tough love.
Your initial post was effectively encouraging other members to break the rules, and whilst that might have been a rookie error on your part it had to be made clear for everyone that this is not allowed.
I'm sorry that you feel the way that you do, but perhaps once you get over the hurt of your ticking off you might give the forums another chance & find that actually they'll make your Whole30 journey a whole lot easier....

Haha, I sort of do this too, "rough cooking". I buy the pre sliced mushrooms from Costco but they are enormous so I throw in the pan and just split them with my spatula. It doesn't all have to be pretty.

The Whole30 tends to rebalance all of your hormones, hunger, sex and stress as well as the rest of them that we are less familiar with.  Being late with your period despite some symptoms is pretty common.  Take a read through this thread you've posted in and you'll see lots of similar comments.  It's normally nothing to be concerned with but of course none of us here are medical professionals, if you are worried see your doctor.

Absolutely. Usually the wacky period during or shortly after your Whole30 is a result of your hormones rebalancing. There are many cases of women, myself included, who, by sticking very close to Whole30, have regulated various issues. For me I have no more mentrual migraines, no more mid month spotting (used to be equivilant to a second 2-3 day period) no more wicked cramps. And I'm extremely regular.

This is okay. It is generally better to have a variety of foods over time, because you get different nutrients from different foods, so be sure you have a variety of vegetables and change up fat and protein sources some, but it's definitely fine to keep it simple rather than making a new and different recipe every day.

Hi Caitlin, you are free to reintro in the schedule that you note.  Your reintro process would certainly take longer but if you're fine with that and have the time, go for it!

The sugar in ice cream thing is a tough one because the ice cream could also have carrageenan in it so you wouldn't know if it was sugar, dairy or an additive that bothered you.  Each thing should be reintro'd completely alone.  We also find some people reintroing soy separate from other legumes because soy is such an issue.  Different types of dairy (whey vs casein) could also be reintro'd separately depending on what your goals at the end are.

It's really up to you how specific and how long you make it.

    Hi Ladyshanny,
Thanks for your quick reply! I'm hoping that it will all even out. It's not fun having to worry about my period when I didn't have any bad symptoms from it before the whole30. It's not hard for me to stick close to the whole30 so hopefully with continued dedication I will be having better results like you! It feels so amazing to have great energy, skin and weight loss is pretty nice too!

Mine are definitely levelling out. It's taken a few months of consistent Whole30 eating. I wouldn't say I have an easy time yet but I no longer have estrogen-drop menstrual migraines every month and my cramps and bleeding are manageable whereas I used to not be able to leave the house for 2 days.

You're not lazy at all, you're adapting to a new system of preparation.  It gets easier and you get faster!

BC holds hormones steady and doesn't allow for the hormonal fluctuations that prompt ovulation. When you stop taking the pills, the drop in hormones triggers menstruation like it does for those not on bc. However, when you adjust your eating, your body's own hormones can fluctuate, and anything considered a drop will cause bleeding.

Try your next breakfast without the added fat and see how you do.  If you're hungry before 4-5 hours is up you'll have your answer!

This post makes me so happy. I was limiting myself to 2 eggs... for some reason?  I am small but I have long fingers.

Another vote for the meat and eggs combo. While I adore plain eggs, I find it more delicious and palate-pleasing to do a hash of onion, veggie and meat then top that with 2 eggs.

I think that a scoby built on an herbal tea is not as healthy as one grown on conventional tea so it's possible that she succumbed because she didn't have the right pH? Healthy scobies need the tannins in black tea (or green, oolong etc) to thrive. Maybe try growing your own using plain GT kombucha and some sweet black tea? 1 cup of heated water, 1 teabag, 1/8 cup of sugar added to the bottle of GTs plain and then set with a cloth on top for about 14 days.

The issue with flavored teas like your vanilla bean, is that the oils might damage the scoby or go rancid. This probably wouldn't happen on the first batch, but over time it might. So, depending on your taste for adventure, you could do some batches with the flavored one, maybe alternating with something plain? Do make certain the tea is really tea and not an herbal concoction--green, white, black, etc. are needed to feed the scoby.

Personally I stick to plain teas for the first ferment and add flavoring in the second (my scoby is healthy and robust and multiplying) but someday I might pull an extra one and test out a batch with flavored tea.

Karin ~ I've personally found that after 3 eggs, I can add as many more as I could stuff in me but they don't provide the same satisfaction and "appetite duration" as if I keep the eggs at about 2 and add a couple ounces of meat.  Maybe give that combo a try if the eggs aren't doing it for you?

For breakfast (and when breakfast is for dinner), I almost always eat a meat protein with the eggs (usually a couple ounces of meat protein and 2 eggs) because just eggs alone doesn't seem to keep me going as long and I really prefer to use eggs in at least one meal a day in order to keep costs down.
