    Compliant Packaged Hash Browns?

Mr. Dells All Natural shredded hash browns are just potatoes! I use those in my breakfast casserole!

    Starting July 1st

I'm in! Had a work potluck today with way too many goodies and I think I ate pizza 4 out of the last 5 days! Thankfully my boyfriend is really supportive although he wouldn't do it with me... I've done this a few times now so even though I'm minimally prepared right now, I know I will do great!! Good luck to everyone new and old! Jill

    September 8th, anyone?

I made a new beef bourgignon (think stew) over the weekend that was somewhat labor intensive but DELICIOUS! I stuck 4 servings of that in the freezer for quick meals for my lunch or when I'm less prepared or feeling lazy. Tonight I made chicken with spinach and artichokes and onions and carrots. Pretty good. I love artichokes! I feel like it's missing something in the seasoning but I'm terrible when it comes to stuff like that and this was my first go at it so it's a little more plain than what I typically go for. Ended up with 3 meals out of that. This time around I feel like I'm really cooking smarter not harder. Making big batches of food that freezes nicely or that I know I can eat on for a few days. Right now I have 2 pounds of breakfast sausage already cooked in the fridge, 3 containers with about 4-5 ounces of carnitas in each container, and now the 2 meals worth of leftover chicken and veggies. I might not have to cook again the rest of the week and it's only Tuesday. I'm trying to keep myself to one serving do fruit per day with lunch and so far I'm doing pretty good with that but that's tough for me. I must admit that I'm eating the grape tomatoes like crazy since they sit out on my counter... I guess better those than cashews or pistachios. Hopefully the month will continue on pretty smoothly for all of us!

Day 1 went great and I got to the gym for an hour! Yay me! Day 2 is coming to a close and I have well fed chicken thighs in the oven and baked sweet potatoes too. I have a can of green beans on standby in case it's not enough food for me and my family. Sipping on a cup of chai tea with coconut milk while waiting for the cooking to be done. Planning to do quite a bit of prep and cooking over the weekend to get ready for next week. Currently I have 3 bowls of chocolate chili in the freezer and 2 servings of sweet potato crusted quiche in the freezer but I need a little more diversity for my meals. I'm planning on making some seasoned ground beef for hot plates and some homemade breakfast sausage as well and for good measure probably a crockpot of chocolate chili. Going to look for a beef stew recipe to cook up for something different as well. I can already tell I didn't buy enough veggies to make it through the weekend let alone next week! Back to the gym tomorrow again.

I'm here! I wanna join in the whole30 January fun! Had a last hurrah binge on Chinese food last night for dinner with my boyfriend and our kids... Slept poorly and have a dull headache. I deserved that... If I put crappy food in my body, I shall be rewarded by feeling crappy. Today, I'll be grocery shopping and cooking and trying to get the gym worked in for an hour as well. Happy whole30 New Year to you all! We got this!

I fell off the wagon... apparently my son's 12th birthday and Thanksgiving are a very powerful persuation for me to fall off the whole30+ wagon. Today, I picked myself back up after a 4 day hiatus and got back on that whole30 horse. We've been really quiet lately... Hope everyone is doing well!

    September 8th, anyone?

Here are my numbers... I just weighed and measured this morning since I spent the last few nights over at my boyfriend's house (no scale). I'm pleased with the results and the trend would suggest that I lose 4% of my starting weight with each whole 30. I'll be continuing to stay on this track although I don't think I'm going to continue to say "I'm doing whole30"... This is my way of life. This is just me. This is how I eat. That being said, I'll still be checking in here frequently to see how everyone is doing on their own journeys! I did it! I stayed compliant (I think) through my boyfriend's family dinner last night!! No Yorkshire pudding or gravy or cauliflower drowned in cheese sauce for me! It was a little difficult because we were there when those beautifully fluffy, golden brown Yorkshires came out of the oven. I'm so glad I didn't have one though... I would be feeling miserable today but instead I feel fantastic! Victory for me

I'm with Ladyshanny! THROW. IT. OUT. And don't feel guilty over it. I think we have all spent money on things we have ended up regretting in the past. Buyer's remorse. Just toss it out. It seems that you've already come to the realization that if you eat it, you will feel sick. Not worth the worry or being sick over. You got this, Britishgal! We're here for you! And, yes, please report back to us when you've thrown that out. <hugs>

Ladyshanny-- My sister in law asked me this weekend what food I miss the most... I couldn't come up with one. Everything I ate before that I'm not eating now gave me some sort of ill effects (bloating, diarrhea, constipation, etc.) Not. going. back.

    September 8th, anyone?

What day is it? Day 50? I stopped keeping track... Pretty sure September 8th was the first day of the rest of my life. I really don't think I'm going to back bread, pasta, dairy, or sugar of any sort. Made a trip to Des Moines this weekend for my niece's 11th birthday party and stopped at Trader Joe's, Penzey's Spices, and Whole Foods. I was finally able to get a few things that I have been searching for for the last 50 days... fish sauce, tessamae's salad dressing just to name a few. Yippee! Can't wait to make some amazing recipes with these things! We had hamburgers and green beans for lunch. For dinner, the menu was pizza, chips, and fruit. Oh Lord, help me. I brought compliant chicken apple sausages that my brother graciously grilled for me and a sweet potato and an apple. No cake or ice cream for me and I did NOT feel deprived. At all. Weekend bonus was that my sister in law sent me home with 5 small butternut squashes. I don't even know how to make them. Last night I made a double batch of chocolate chili which will be joining my large batch of carnitas in the freezer. I love both of these for quick meals when I don't have time or feel like cooking! Hope you all are doing fantastic!

    September 8th, anyone?

Hey everybody! I agree with Flora's statement about the honeymoon being over... I've gotten a little bored in my eating too so I took some time the other night to really track down some new recipes. I made nomnom paleo's whole chicken and gravy in the crockpot and that turned out pretty darn delicious. I plan to try the cracklin' chicken and her Unami gravy at some point. I have all the ingredients anyway. Chocolate chili is on the list too. It's so flavorful that I have to keep the freezer stocked with it for a quick easy meal. Loaded up on veggies at the store tonight and brought home more apples and a bag of grapes. I'm hoping I'll squeeze in some time to make my almost 7 pound pork shoulder into carnitas this week and throw those leftovers in the freezer as well. I'm down to only 1 container of that on standby. It's that time of year again... Preparing for open enrollment for health insurance at work. So, I started my whole30 (now whole30+) on 9/8 as did most of you all but I started eating paleo in March of this year and after 4-5 months of that, my diet started to relax which is really why I decided to try whole30. Anyway, I'm rambling. Sorry. On 9/25, I had my biometrics done for work and I was nervous but I knew if the numbers were less than stellar then I had already started fixing them with whole30... So I felt encouraged.... The numbers are IN! Total cholesterol last year at this time was 218, now it's 183! Triglycerides were 111, now 70! LDL was 163, now 130. HDL was 33, now 39 (this is the best this has ever been--blame genetics mostly)! Weight is down 20 pounds!! I still have work to do but I have come along way and the numbers reflect my hard work! I couldn't be happier!

    September 8th, anyone?

Day 38 for me too! My initial goal of making it to Thanksgiving may fall through... my boyfriend's family celebrates each person's birthday with a dinner of roast and Yorkshire pudding, gravy, cheesy cauliflower, and honey glazed carrots and we're celebrating his sister's 40th birthday on November 1st. The only compliant item on the menu is the roast. I'm considering baking a sweet potato at home and taking it with me but I'm afraid his family will feel offended by that. His stepdad spends the ENTIRE day fixing this meal. Ugh! What do you all think?? It's a small group. Only 6 of us so it's not really an option not to eat. Advice please!

    September 8th, anyone?

Hey ladies!!! Glad to see everyone is still truckin' along! I'm doing excellent right along with you all! A good friend of mine from work is starting her first whole 30 today. We got together yesterday and talked about meal planning and grocery lists. Right now I have a stockpile of frozen partial meals so my grocery list is pretty short this week... Yay me!! Next week will be different. Lol I decided that this time around I would weigh myself whenever I please. I realize that doing whole30 is not about the number on the scale but I like to watch the number fall... And this morning, I am now down a total of 8.4 pounds since Sept 8th, however, I am down 20' ish pounds since going paleo in March of this year! And that has been virtually with no exercise other than an occasional walk. This morning I was able to put on the size 10 crop pants that have been in my drawer since early last year mocking me. I've been using them as my non scale victory and I HAVE ARRIVED!!! Complete with no muffin top!! So happy this morning! A doctor that I used to work with has been eating paleo for a while and she lets herself have a non-paleo meal once a quarter. I'm considering adopting this as well but instead of being paleo, I would continue to do whole30's between quarterly special occasions. No official decisions made yet but it seems like a good idea. Hope you all are having a great weekend! Oh and ladyshanny, I completely agree about the bewbs are the first to go for those lacking, and the last to go for those with plenty! We can't win, can we?!
