Fgermain - just saw that you are looking for compliant sausage. I found the Jones brand - frozen - pork links all natural are compliant for a breakfast sausage. They are in most grocery stores. Of course they are the one option that does not go on sale - at least that I have seen.

Ladyshanny and fgermain - I am very impressed with your results! And your motivation to continue!
I have tried some reintroductions, but the main one that I am keeping out is sugar.
I have found that dairy causes congestion and flem in the back of my throat. I see that I will really be limiting that in my diet. Whole grains are good for me, though. But have to be in moderation as I want to limit the sugar impact. Soy and legumes are ok, but also will be limited as I am concerned about the sugar processing.
I won't get my blood work done until early December, so will see how the internals are at that time. However, I am continuing to lose and am now down 20.2lbs at the end of week 5. Still pleased with the overall results.
I think next week I will back on another whole 7-14 day plan. Taking me closer to Thanksgiving. Also, I have started to apply for jobs and have a face to face interview on the 20th. I am hopeful that this interview goes well and I can end my job search basically as soon as it began! LOL!

I love, love, love seeing and hearing all of the results...even the not so good ones...because it means that we are in touch with ourselves.  I agree, Jordan, it can't be wrong to eat veggies, protein and fat....perhaps your body is still putting up resistance, but it'll come around if you give it time.  I'm going to 100 and I know there are some 90's and some 60's here...so you'll be in fine company if you decide to stick it out!

So I guess I'm the first (only?) person who is going to post pictures of myself in my underwear, LOL.  I don't weigh so I don't know what my weight loss number is.  I did measurements but they came up a bit weak as far as I'm concerned, especially since I'm in clothes I couldn't even get past my ass a month ago!

    I have to share this..
Yesterday I had to pick up my daughter late from school and run an errand before we went home. Although I had planned dinner, she asks me if my diet is over. LOL.
I tell her that the 30 days are up, but we both know I need to continue on this path. I can hear the disappointment in her voice.
So I agreed to swing by Burger King to pick up dinner for her, my mother and the dog. As we are driving there, I realise that I can have their plain burger without the bun. So I ordered a double cheese burger (I was adding dairy for the first day) with nothing else on it. I had that with a large bowl of homemade butternut squash soup and the rest of the family had burger king. The dog got the bun from my burger.
IT felt great sticking with my plan even in the pressure of a teenager. LOL
I see from yesterday that dairy will be limited in my diet. Woke up with much more congestion, today. Sticking back to Whole 30 for the next couple of days!

Thanks everyone for the congrats on my results.  I am not looking to diminish the results that I saw this first month - clearly this is working for me - but you really need to keep in context how far away from a healthy weight I am.  Where some have stated that they are aiming to take off 30-40lbs, from where I am currently, I still need to take off an additional 160lbs to reach the healthy weight range.  I have never been exceptionally close to that number and all I am looking to be is in a healthier place than I am and have been for years.

I personally feel that a Paleo diet (or taking it a bit further with a Whole 30 diet) is the direction I need to go.   I find this is something that I can fit into my life.  I can see myself going on Whole 7 and Whole 14 on a regular basis.   I will probably look into another Whole 30 after the holidays.   Of course, if I see my results are reversing themselves, I will be on a whole 30 much sooner.  :-)

I just want to see my blood work results to confirm that my inside is doing as good as I feel.  I am so now aware of not only the dangers of sugar, but all the places that the food industry is hiding added sugar where there is really no need.

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing others day 31 results!

I just finished logging my food for the day and was seeing that tomorrow is day 27 for me (I jumped the gun and started a day early.).
A little excited and nervous on seeing day 30. However, am I so bad if I am already planning what I will make for the transition days? I have a great recipe for clean eating pumpkin steel cut oats that I am anxious to try out. It is a bit of work, but I am thinking that I could always freeze the extra portions.
I plan to give each of the food groups a try - the way outlined in the book. However, I do plan on sticking with whole 30 menu planning for most days and only go "off" occasionally. I see that this way of eating has brought so many changes in such a short time, that it is for the best if I continue.
I stopped at Trader Joes, yesterday and bought my daughter some shortbread cookies with jam (thumbprint cookies). I thought it was going to be much more difficult to see them sitting there and not take any. But it is OK. I really don't want them. Sure the super monster tries to come out when I am stressed, but I really don't want to give in. So there!

I have some slow cooker squeaky clean beef bourgignon in the crockpot for today.  It is making the house smell soooo good!.  Heading down to make some cream of broccoli soup (only has a little cream that I will replace with coconut milk) - it is an old recipe that I haven't made in a while.  I love having soup to eat at lunchtime.  This one is filling and has lots of broccoli for the veggies.

So excited that I went shopping in my closet, yesterday.  Found some new clothes (and yes they were new clothes that still had tags on them that I kept saying I was going to fit into them instead of returning them).  Threw a couple of new items into the "rotation" and will spend more time in the closet to see what else is there.  (I have a very large closet and I need to get rid of a lot of clothes that I honestly will never wear.

Heading back to the career counseling (outplacement services) tomorrow.  Have put together a decent looking resume, although I am sure they will have lots of good input in it.  However, I also came across a job that is almost exactly the job I just left.  So I tweaked my resume and put in an application.   Not sure that is really the job I want, but it is a first for me to start applying for something.  Hoping just to get a call of interest, here.  LOL.

    Kristinmarta -

You mentioned that you went for some more tests when you were at the Dr office a couple of days ago.  Have you gotten the results back, yet?  Hopefully, you will see some positive signs coming from the inside of your body that will give you the encouragement you need to continue.

Stick with this until at least you get these results back.

The Whole 30 has a lot of good things going for it, but if the challenges you are having are not related to your body's response to the eliminated foods, then this may not be the answer.

Please continue to work with your doctor to help you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Part of what I am trying to do is recondition my brain to what is "normal" for my body - as in what is best for it - and not what is normal as defined by the food industry. This journey has been a true educational experience and I am glad that I have taken on this challenge.
Watching Well Fed at this time was perfect as it really helped to hone in what is going on in the food industry to challenge me. It is really sticking with me and makes me sad that I bought into it for so long. I have to go back to cooking from scratch like our grandparents did.
After 2 weeks on the whole 30 plan, I canceled my weight watchers membership. I have been on and off weight watchers for 40 years. I started at the age of 11. Some years I would have great success, but the weight always came back and added more. Doing this plan has shown me why I have failed at ww for all those years. The processed food need to be eliminated and the reduction of fat to such low levels contributed to my eating more sugar which just created a terrible cycle. This also explains how I struggled to even lose a pound or two no matter how exactly I followed the plan.
I know that we are not supposed to weigh ourselves during this 30 days, but I was feeling different and I needed to know. I have lost more weight in the past 20 days than I have lost in 4 months on ww. My body is really taking to this program.
I feel good, less pain which makes me want to do more things. Allof this is leading to a happier person. So even if this is not Tiger Blood, it is a wonderful feeling that encourages me to continue.
